Arkansas State Red Wolves Fans Crushed It In 2015
KRAM1 replied to GreenBat's topic in Mean Green Football
GreenBat is back! Lock the gate folks! -
Good question. I would hope Club Seat holders get right of first refusal as would our season ticket holders....especially should the Mean Green be participating. If not, I doubt that a majority of our Club Seat holders or regular season ticket holders would care. I. Know I would be 50-50 on attending and it would depend on weather forecast and whatever else may be going on that day.

1). You are simply nuts if you think this is easy. 2). You are even nuttier if you think I am going to turn this into a tournament 3). You are the nuttiest if you think I am going to do this twice a year. 4). I struggled mightily to get players this year...several regulars are not playing...some have dropped out...and I twisted lots of arms to get the players we have...not nearly enough for four teams. Bottom line is...this is WORK...but it is enjoyable work...once a year....and the event itself is tons of fun. And, it helps a bunch of very hard working and well deserving student-athletes. That's why this happens each year...but, easy it is not!

Ha! I have no crystal ball...and this year...no trophies as we do not have the after event party due to the women's basketball game that tips off just after our game concludes. We need to go watch that game. That's why we scheduled the live draft pre-gathering at Eastside that, unfortunately, was very poorly attended. Doubt we will try that again...hopefully a post game event next year...if there is a next year for this event. I am thinking of getting a few folks together sometime after this year's event to see if this has "run its course" and if we might need to change to some other sort of event...softball, bowling, golf, corn hole or stay with basketball...who knows, but maybe it is time to give it some thought. BUT, that is after this year...this is going to be great fun...as it always is. FOLKS...please come out and support this event. No admission fee, and you might just laugh until you cry. Who, after reading this board, doesn't need something to make them laugh? Come on...you know you do!

Hmmmmm don't believe you made many games last year either. What, you came with a pal to the UTEP game perhaps? Thought that was it for you last season. Agree...but many more than one have chosen to come here and play for him...like our two newest signees including Frazier. You will recall that one left Jalie's squad as well this year. Some players just feel they need to leave for one reason or another. Not always on the coach. What faults folks may see in Benford, his relationship with the players on this team is very good and is not one of them.

Not a typo...UNT90 is nothing but positive and fun at these events...and most generally when you chat with him in person at games, etc. What you see here on GMG.Com is really not what you get in person. Trust me, I have known Mike for quite a few years and very much enjoy time spent with him in person...now, as to his stuff here on GMG.Com...well, not so much! Ha!

Per seat thing is new this year. The bump actually depends upon the number of seats. For me, with two in the next level up from you, it amounts to a &150.00 bump per seat as I have two...old min. for me...like you was $500.00...now my minimum is $800.00. So, $300 more per year for my two seats. It is no biggie for me as I donate well over the minimum each year already, and in fact, increased my donation level to the next level up this year. So, I was covered already. For some it will most definitely be an increase...especially for those folks with more than two seats. A few, however, will actually see a decrease in their required minimum...hopefully, they will stay at $500, but some could drop to $400 or even $300. Thus, up to $200 decrease for them. But, I do think the letter puts to bed the concept of re-shuffling seats based on priority points in the Club Level. My letter said, and I quote..."This letter signifies that you have fulfilled your Apogee Stadium pledge and now hold the rights to purchase your club seats in perpetuity." I plan on keeping this letter just in case someone has the bright idea to try to shuffle seats based on priority points some years down the line. Ha! Now, I guess it's time for me to purchase my tickets as this donation level thing has now been settled. No change in required MGC donation level for seats in the lower bowl, but since the Club level seating has gone to a per seat donation, anyone think that this might not be coming as soon as next season for the bowl level seat holders? I have ZERO info on that, but seems to me would be likely to follow. WE will see soon enough I suppose. Just glad the Club Seat thing has been settled.

BUT...why not come, stand next to a few, share your MVP wisdom with some of the rookies, and just join in the fun? You know you can always do the half-court shot 50/50 contest even on a hurt leg. Plus, what's a basketball event without UNT90? You have been part of every one to date...we need your positive and cheerful self!

If I had them, I'd post them, but I do not. But, why not let it just be a surprise.....like the rest of the game! What I do know is that it will be a lot of fun.

Congrats DAD! Super happy to hear that Mom (who did all the tough work) and wee guy Cooper are doing well. Will be glad to have you on the court. Welcome!

OH, ye of little faith. I told your coach that you would score at least 20?

Game day approaching...let the trash talk flow...

What in the Sam Hill are you meaning here? You really seem to be stretching to find something both negative and irrelevant to post. What is your point here?

Just a reminder that our 6th annual benefit basketball game for the UNT Cheer Team is fast approaching! The game is scheduled for Sat., FEB. 27th with a 1PM tip-off in the UNT Volleyball Gym off Bonnie Brae in the Mean Green Village. Doors will be open around NOON for check-in and warm up. We will try to tip as close to 1pm as possible. I have the player shirts...they look great...and am continuing to collect silent auction items. There is still time to donate an item for the silent auction if you would like. Anything from Mean Green stuff to restaurant and entertainment gift cards, to you name it. If you would like to donate just PM me and we will figure out how best to get the item to the event or to me prior to the event on the 27th. ALSO...the GoFundMe site is still up at https://www.gofundme.com/9parj2nk for anyone who would like to pay their player fees ahead of registration ($30) or who might still like to make a donation to the scholarship fund. We will have the concession stand open with a few items as well...some drinks, candy, chips...you get the idea. ALL proceeds from the concession items also go to the Cheer Team scholarship fund as do the proceeds from our silent auction. There is no admission fee to come watch, participate in the half-time half-court 50/50 shot contest, bid on items in the silent auction or to simply come cheer your favorite player and/or team...or to kibbitz any and all. We would love to see a nice crowd out to help create a festive atmosphere for the event. The more the merrier as they say. After the game there is a women's basketball game that tips off at 2pm. Our game should conclude in time for anyone wishing to attend the women's game against Southern Miss to head over to the Super Pit for the action. If anyone has any questions or needs any additional information, simply PM me here and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Middle Tennessee Raises Over $105 Million
KRAM1 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
In fact I did. Probably one of the 25-30 who actually saw it. Man, sure made an impact, didn't it? Total waste of time and resources. Pretty much like pissing upwind. -
Thank you. We tried to be just that...transparent in highlighting both some of our successes and pointing out some areas where we need to do a better job. In fact, it is the first such annual report sent to our membership. We have strides to make, but, we are taking those strides seriously, and hope our alums will recognize our progress.

Thank you, Sir. Your support is very much appreciated!

The change in the Alumni Assoc. structure did not happen under Dr. Smatresk's watch, but rather Dr. Rawlins. I was on the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association and was 100% active in the negotiations to create our new structure. The Alumni Association remains an independent 501C3 organization and operates with an independent board of directors under its own charter. You are correct that the Association gets more university support than it did under its previous structure, and you are also correct in saying that Dr. Smatresk is very supportive of our efforts and interested in growing the Association's reach. We are extremely happy with the new structure and the support we now enjoy from the highest levels of the university. You are also correct in that winning in athletics brings positives across the spectrum of the university as a whole...including the Alumni Association. There is no argument on this point within university personnel across the nation. Since you have a friend on the board, I do hope he has made sure that you are an Alumni Association member.

Your ego runneth over...if you think that post was directed at you your ego is definitely out of control. You do love yourself so these days. In spite of what you seem To think it is simply not all about you. -

Again, you are wrong...nothing new there. I never worry at all about what you post...as I definitely cannot control it. I more often than not disagree and say so, but that is a far cry from worrying about anything you post. -

Only two left. Last two will be the last two Mondays in February. Come on out and enjoy one or both of these final two shows of the year. If for no other reason than to have some fun and to support one of UNT's loyal supporters...Rudy's BBQ. Show starts at noon on Monday. I hope to see some new faces the next couple of weeks. -

You know what? I worry about and act on the things that I can control in my life and I do what I can do to support the program. In no way can I control what the AD does not what you do for that matter. I can only suggest that people act instead of simply shoot their mouths off. They have to decide for themselves. Worrying about things one cannot control is a game for losers in my book. -

We are trying. Could use more action on alums parts and less just talk. Acta Non Verba, Ben.
