  1. Did they? I thought ticket prices were pretty much the same as last year with one more game this year making the total ticket cost higher due to the extra game. But, since I am a buyer anyway, I did not pay that close attention to the ticket costs this year. Is the per ticket cost higher? Or, Are you referring to "donation" levels? Now, donation is "per seat" which it should have been from the start. Why should a guy with one seat pay the same as a guy with four seats? Isn't it now $300 per seat? Which actually gives some few club seat holders a decrease. I donate well over the required minimum, so again, did not pay that close attention...is it $300 per seat or $250? Just for reference...at Okie State, the required Club level donation is $2000.00 per seat per year. Not comparing records...just costs. Club seats at UNT continue to be a bargain compared to the costs for club level types seats at "big time football" schools. The interesting thing about all this is no one is required to purchase Club Seats. There are tons of great seats at Apogee that are not in the Club area. Some folks prefer those bowl seats to the Club which is understandable. I do believe that the football watching atmosphere is actually great in the bowl. It matters not where folks want to sit...it only matters if they show up. One's seat preference is a personal choice. You get to pick your seat location and costs. There are seat costs to fit every budget and every location preference. No reason to miss a game based on costs at Apogee. Wing Zone (end zone) costs are very reasonable while suites are a bit more costly. Pretty much like it is at every stadium, right? Just be there to help fill Apogee for the SMU game for sure. Then when the Mean Green whip up on the ponies, come back for the rest of the season.
  2. Huh? I was talking about the costs for decent seats at the "big time schools" compared to the costs at Apogee. My point was that costs at Apogee are not even close to those at the big time football schools for decent seats when you add in the costs of their "required" donations. "Decent seats" being those at the "big time schools". Was not referring to seats at Apogee...where, yes, all are good seats by comparison. My comment was in reference to a poster claiming UNT seat prices had been raised to levels close to these big time football school costs....nope, not even close.
  3. I had no problem securing Army tickets last week. Several people were available to help...had my pick. Purchased my two tickets...will be mailed out when they arrive. Easily done, and thanked for the purchase.
  4. Not even close when you consider the "required" donation levels to secure decent seats.
  5. Actually, the dismissed cadet owes the money, not his/her parents.
  6. Tried that first...the blog entry said "closed". Thanks for the email. Appreciate it.
  7. Brett...tried to send you a PM....wouldn't let me...but it is not Thompson that will try to help turn UNT around but our new ass't O'Dowd. Might want to check that blog entry. Why no PM's? Your box full? Wanted to just send you the note.
  8. Done! Have you visited lately? All new folks...went by to get my Army tickets and another parking pass for the SMU game. Great service...every front desk position occupied...went out of their way to get me the parking pass even though they were not actually ready to sell additional parking passes as yet (we're in the process of loading that into the computers after just completing the season ticket distribution). I really felt like it was a breath of fresh air. I realize there will be bumps in the road until it all gets sorted out, but the three folks I interacted with actually made me feel like they cared and we're glad to see me and appreciated my purchases. Hopefully, a sign of things to come. No, this reboot of personnel was not initiated by Wren Baker, but he will be the one seeing to it that it continues to improve and understand that hey are the first point of contact to UNT athletics for a lot if people. Right there with you on that baseball thing.
  9. Like you did it all by yourself....Pft....you were there for the fun...you planted the seed...all that heavy gardening was done by another. Stop your bragging! ?
  10. Events are planned for each chapter on an on-going basis...not just once. So, look for the next Tarrant County event. Not all will be mixers as different folks like different things, but come...bring friends. Enjoy. Glad you enjoyed this one.
  11. Just curious...are you a frequent visitor in the Club area or do you have Club seats?
  12. Yes...do. He was not.
  13. I really hate to even post this in the current day's environment, but RV wrote the check for the bronze casting costs out of his own pocket...not a penny came from athletic dept. funds. I watched him take out his personal checkbook and write the check. I thought it was a nice gesture. I really had hoped to see this bust of Joe on display months ago. But, hopefully, one day soon.
  14. Yes..have read his position. Doesn't change mine. We will all see where this goes. I think we could both find plenty of support from current and former members of the armed services for our various positions. Not surprising at all given this case and the times we live in today.
  15. Or...is that simply his own rationalization for desertion in the face of the enemy? I highly doubt you or anyone else (including me) knows what was "in his mind". Seems he was the only member of his unit to take such a course of action "to fulfill his duty to his country". Leaving ones post in a war zone and knowingly decreasing your units readiness strength is a court martial offense and is seen as cowardly by every veteran I have discussed this situation with...especially my Viet Nam era buddies. I do think those who served have a different view of this situation than those who have not. And, that's probably understandable.
  16. Yep...as a Viet Nam era veteran I concur with your thoughts.
  17. He does. But, like most, he can't make every game. But, I have seen him at several of the games I have attended the last couple of years....same for tennis and volleyball.
  18. Thanks. Been waiting to hear some info on the stops this year. I had heard they were looking at the Rustic as a Dallas Venue. Been there...like it...hope it works for this sort of event. Thanks.
  19. He was at one time on the coaching staff at some university...cannot recall which one.
  20. Ha! Funny, but nope...esoteric is the word.
  21. What? And here I thought I posted for far more esoteric reasons.
  22. Not nearly as much fun when you have to take it and not just dish it out, is it? Must have hit a nerve. Too bad you have such a thin skin, but maybe you should stop ragging and dissing others since you are so sensitive. So very classy of you. Perhaps we should just anoint you Mr. Sensitive. You don't care anyway...what does it matter. Like I said, time to end this boring back and forth. Besides, what fun is there in discussing things one side doesn't care about? Hey, here's an idea....hit that ignore button and you won't even have to talk with me on line about stuff you don't care about and you won't get your feelings hurt.
  23. Thanks. You finally post something I can agree with. Because of course you didn't post that as some sort of dig, not you, no way.
  24. Personal shots? Where? What? You mean the bit where I paraphrase what you have said constantly? Really? How us that taking personal shots? You said it...numerous times. I just paraphrase you. Silly boy, and what makes you think my comment was directed solely at you? Ego maybe? Besides...you don't care.
