????. Say what?
-
I was there. This was not pretty. That is all.
-
Have not heard that as yet. Was in too much shock and angst over the possibility of Detroit in the first place!

Folks...I would not, as yet, be buying tickets for either Arizona or Vegas. A high placed staffer in the athletics dept. has been mentioning the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec. 26th in Detroit. Ouch! Man I hope that is a really bad rumor. If it ends up being this one, I am definitely out. Would have to leave Christmas Day or even Christmas Eve which would have me spending Christmas Day in Detroit! Way too many family obligations and plans already in place to even try to make this one!

One person in the Athletic Dept. Is saying it could be the Quick Lane Bowl played in Detroit at Ford Field on Dec. 26th at 2:30pm. Ouch..,for me that would be a "no go" due to family Christmas commitments. Would have to leave on Christmas Day at a minimum or the day before and spend Christmas in Detroit! Yies! Detroit for Christmas! I have all fingers and toes crossed that it will not be a Detroit Dec. 26th game for lots of reasons...not the least of which the family Christmas and travel plan "messes" it could create for everyone. Can you imagine what an airline ticket purchased this late for Tracpvel during the Christmas holiday travel season might be? I do not even want to check...but then it is Detroit. Who the heck would fly on purpose to Detroit in December? Oh my......

Question...out of all you folks arguing the relative benefits of going or not going to a bowl with five wins...how many thought UNT would have five wins at the start of the season? Come on, be honest. This season has exceeded just about everyone's expectations. I call that a success. If we get a bowl bid as icing on the cake, well, great!

Can't recall a time when UNT did not struggle a bit against a team running that Princton style offense. Anybody recall when Denver was in our conference? Always fun to see how we played against them. "Struggle against them", however, does not mean we didn't beat them....just always seems to be a tough close game.

How long did you stay? Really?

Who would ? Terrible bowl for fans. Terrible date...

Saw the t-shirt give away during the Drexel game. Lots of fun. Lady was wearing a Dallas Cowboys shirt. Does this even count? Anyway, she put on the Mean Green Tee over her Cowboys shirt. Later the camera picked he up in her seat...guess what? She had taken the UNT tee off...folded it nicely over the seat in front of her and was again displaying the Dallas Cowboys tee. WHAT? I wanted to go grab the UNT tee and give it to someone else! Should have been required to keep that UNT Tee on! This is a fun promo and funded by a great UNT fan. Let's get behind this at the games and have some fun with it at every home game. Thanks greenjoe. Well played, Sir.

Privacy laws and just plain "none of our business" create this sort of silence and the exact "whys" of this sort of thing. This is not a "lack of communication". This is "keeping it within the family" where I believe it belongs. If there is an arrest for something like we have seen in the past, well, that is public record and you can find it if you so desire. I firmly believe this in team discipline is none of my business...it is personal. It could come out from a team member or other source one of these days, but really doesn't matter. They are no longer a part of the Mean Green, and from what Coach L said last night on the radio show (at least my interpretation of his comments) we may never see them back. I hope I am wrong and that they will serve their suspensions, make whatever apologies are necessary, learn from their mistakes and return next season. Certainly remains to be seen. But the "why" I chalk up to "none of my business" and move on to support the players who are currently on the roster. Both names been removed from the roster I believe...so, could be a long farewell.

What am I missing here? I see no mention of Scrapoy or UNT when I click on that link. I will admit I did not read the story about each team listed...just looked for UNT and Scrapoy and was ready to blow up if they had us in the bottom ten!

Operative words there are "semi and intelligent".

Heart of Dallas Bowl representatives were at our game against Southern Miss last night. Am sure they were impressed with the character of the team in that comeback win. Not sure what they will think of the support from the fan base.

I am beginning to think the refs working our games are paid by the number of penalties called per ref rather than by the game.

Where did you find that info? It is definitely incorrect...unless you are trying something like a bit here. As a youngster...and I mean a youngster...and you know my age and how long ago my being a "youngster" would be...we have always stood for the national anthem at games...my junior high, my high school at UNT as an undergrad and back when we came to Denton to watch Abner play. You are from California, right? Maybe they did not stand in California, but they sure did in Texas and in Oklahoma (only two state where I have significant first hand experience). I did not click on the link you supplied, so maybe you just drew me into a real bit. If so, good for you.

Not uncommon at all across the NCAA. Texas almost lost to Incarnate Word last night. Early season games are about trying different player combinations, trying different defenses, different offenses, etc.
-
Don't know for certain. Will definitely be looking for it at the So Miss game. If they do I certainly will not be watching their half-time presentation.
-
Glad to know that. Maybe someone mentioned that when in uniform and on that field they ARE NOT representing themselves.
-
I'll look forward to that one of these days.

But, members of the Green Brigade have taken a knee.

Hate to miss it, but we are going with a group of ten Mean Greeners to Little Rock to watch our women play in the WNIT Friday evening. Anyone else going to be in Little Rock for this pre-season WNIT game?
