  1. No...it says it is free if you buy through the UNT ticket office. At least that is what the numerous messages I received from Athletics, the Mean Green Club and the Alumni Association indicated. They also stated that you help UNT by purchasing through the UNT ticket office. Those messages never specified a price if you did not help UNT by purchasing tickets through an outside source. My opinion is that however one gets a ticket is helping UNT by showing up, but a perk in helping was that the pre-game official tailgate was free. Now, how they would even try to monitor that is a mystery to me.
  2. Well, he said he was lazy...maybe he did not read any of the messages from the Mean Green Club or Alumni Association indicating it was free if you bought tickets through the UNT ticket office. Surely he bought through the UNT ticket office, right? Excellent question...maybe they have a list, but with so many buying tickets for groups using their higher priority points, it will be a challenge for certain. If I were a betting man, well........
  3. Free admission if you bought your ticket through the UNT ticket office.
  4. Hey, Joe, think I should wear Green? Ha! Yep...I'll be there in green. Appreciate your passion about this issue...I agree with you.
  5. Call the ticket office Monday. See if they can just have your tickets at will call or at the UNT pre-game tailgate. Others, I know, are picking their tickets up this way. Just bring your receipt to the tailgate if you have a printed one. My two "go to" folks when this sort of thing pops up are Mike Smith and Reggie Johnson.
  6. And, there is a mighty discussion going on at Old Dominion right now regarding increasing the size. There is a fairly powerful factor that wants to keep capacity small to create "demand" for tickets and to keep the sellouts going. There is another factor that would like to see capacity increased. I read about this in the Norfolk paper each year about this time when I visit family in Norfolk/Chesapeake. It will be interesting to see what the ultimately do as they update the stadium or build a new one.
  7. Go Navy! Why? I have a son and daughter-in-law both serving as Medical Officers in the Navy and my daughter-in-law's Dad was a retired Master Chief. It's personal. Go Navy!
  8. Yes...and Tech is off to a fast start.
  9. Brice had a boot on his foot before the game. I am guessing he has some sort of injury to his ankle/foot. Might have accounted for some of his lack of minutes. Bottom line...we got hosed on that charging foul. I was near that basket at the time watching with a UNT HOF-er BB player and we both saw it as a no-call and a rip! That ref had been on UNT all game. Too bad a ref determined the outcome of this game. Mean Green really came back hard to take a late lead. One stop and the win is Mean Green. One stop...
  10. Ha! Indeed, Sir, Indeed.
  11. Got my tickets last night at the basketball game. Sec 24...Row 28.
  12. Don't know which four you have been to this year...but thank you for that...but you are completely incorrect on the subbing patterns. This, as Andrew, has already stated ceased some time ago. The subbing patterns are pretty consistent with every other team we have played. This rap on Benford is simply no longer the case. Now, do I wish he would leave some guys in longer? Absolutely, but the NHL hockey line subbing has been a thing of the past for some time. Just is...knock him for other things as you wish, but this is not one anyone can get on him about any longer. I am guessing about 350.
  13. Frazier has been nursing a bum knee for the last week or so. Has just now gone through a full practice. The knee issue was why he did not play in the last game. Is set to debut this Tuesday at the Super Pit.
  14. Ticket office is open. Don't know about the bookstore in the Union, but it is a Barnes and Noble, so cannot imagine it being closed during the Christmas shopping season. Why not give them a call and confirm?
  15. I thought someone would surely mention Aledo.
  16. Army indicated that it received info from the Wake Forrest idiot. Wondering what might come of that...honor code and all.
  17. Yep...did.
  18. I wouldn't have those two guys on my team either. They could just play on your team. No problem. There is always a coach and a team that will take these guys. On my team, character would matter as well as wins. I do believe you can win with character and ethics. But, that's just me. You, Stoops and Kiffin can pick your own players.
  19. History would probably reflect that this guy was given way more than second chances already. Just a guess. But, if my team...not in the case of a guy hitting women. Nope...not my team...to quote Fry again "you recruit your own problems". Too many players looking for chances without records for me to take this kind of chance. But, it is Kiffin, so there is that. Hope it works out for the kid and that he has learned his lesson. What I think he may have learned is that his football skills get him multiple chances that others would not get.
  20. Already signing thugs? Not a good sign.
  21. Correct! Who was the QB when we beat Army at Army earlier this season? I personally do not care who starts between Fine and Morris. I just want the coaches to start the guy they...THEY...think gives UNT the best chance of winning. Perhaps both will play...perhaps not, but I leave that to the coaching staff and medical personnel. Just set UNT up with the best possible chance of securing a win.
  22. Look folks...I am not trying to rain on Ryan's parade. Go wherever you want to tailgate. Your choice...either or both...all good. I just asked the question as I did not want folks to be confused as to the event being thrown in with your ticket purchase set up by the Alumni Assoc/Athletic Dept and Ryan's St Arnold's event. It's all good...just come to the game. And, if you have not purchased your ticket/s as yet, please do so through the UNT ticket office as it helps UNT more than buying elsewhere. Plus, it is not too late to call the ticket office to buy a few $20 student tickets for donation to UNT students. Nice job! ?
  23. Ryan...you must read more carefully. I said the one at the last HOD Bowl official tailgate had breakfast tacos. I have no clue what will be served this time as details are not out as yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed for breakfast tacos again, but no clue as yet. But a St. Arnold's at 9:00am at your tent sounds intriguing for sure. May have to grab one on the way to the game. The Alumni/Athletic Dept event is definitely Kid friendly. Expect possible appearances from Scrappy, the Cheer Squad and Mean Green Band if the last HOD tailgate is any indication. Like I have previously posted...details still being worked out. Will be announced soon.
  24. Thanks for the memories, but I will not take it quite so far as one gentleman did for that one. And, yep...very similar to going to a bowl game...about the same attendance expectations! ?? Indeed room for both. Just show up for the game I guess is the best.
