I've got an idea....let's quit talking about the past and DD. It was...it's over! Whether he was a good recruiter, a bad recruiter, a lousy play caller, a boring coach, a lazy coach, etc. is all in the past now...THANK GOODNESS! Let's look forward with TD, get behind the team, buy tickets and go to the games. And, be part of the Exes...an active part...It's a new day and new era at UNT and I, for one, am 100% happy about that. I just want to look forward...the recent past with DD is just too BAD to even remember. I say...FORWARD!

This thread is pretty funny...to even CONSIDER this kid id NUTS...plain and simple! No, I am not convicting him ahead of time (remember the Duke Lacrosse players?????), but appears this is not the first little incident involving this young man. He needs to get his act together somewhere else. UNT does not need this kind of stuff. Convicted or not...there is a character issue when a kid is found in two cars...neither of which are his....think about it...not just as a football prospect, but as a young man who seems to be headed in the wrong direction. He may need to consider priorities surrounding his life that do not involve football....No need to bring this "stuff" to UNT>

I like it....yes, I did giggle a bit with the "wide open"....thinking of other things I guess, but it's a great statement with lots of meaning to lots of folks....hope we see them UP all over the place....the sooner the better...the more the better....

Think we could get these guys to design a new logo for UNT????? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! This just sucks! And, I am sure...someone made some big bucks designing the UGLY thing! Hey, leave it to the Brits......remember...they wore red coats and walked down the mifddle of the road in 1776....not a very creative bunch! Ha!

GreenJoe....when was the last time the Mean Green "Club" did anything as a "Club"....seems to me it's just a name for a sales campaign for tickets....I think it would be great if the Mean Green Club actually operated as a Club where members had some contact with each other, when events are held for the members and where members "enjoy" some specific "real" benefits other than the "right" to pay full price for tickets after a donation....hey, not complaining, I know that's how it's done in "big time" college athletics these days, but wouldn't it be nteresting if the Mean Green Club was actually a "Club"...you never know where that might take us in the way of additional ticket sales for both football and basketball, more folks watching our VERY GOOD women's soccer team, etc., etc. Just wondering.....

What was the attendance like at the Fish Fry this year compared to the recent past? Interest up with our Letterman's Club? hOPE SO...We have "lost" quite a few lettermen in recent years...for one reason or the other...we need to get these men and women BACK and involved with the program...they need to be recognized when they atend events on campus to SHOW folks they are involeved and still behind THEIR school. Anyone who attended...can you give us a read on attendance this year as opposed to the recnt past???? Many thanks...

For those of us who are old enough to remember Hayden here at UNT...his games were fun to watch...even when he got beat! There was ALWAYS a play or two that really was "unique", and his teams played hard. I do not recall any game where the team "gave up" even when behind. I long for those times, and I think we may well have a chance to get back to some exciting football...win or lose...with coach Dodge. Proof will be in the pudding as they say, but I'll be there to see it happen. Bring it on...by the way, I remember being in a meeting with Coach Fry one day at a local bank where I worked here in Denton when Coach Fry drew a picture of the "flying worm" and told us he wanted to change the logo....also was with him at the bank when he told us privately that he was heading to Iowa! The first meeting was fun...the second...not so much. Go get 'em Coach Dodge...

WOW...Coach Dodge hasn't even coached one game here at UNT and the worry is how long he will stay....that's a good thing...I guess! We'll see about the "integrity" thing when/if the BIG DOLLARS start being shoved in his face AFTER he wins here at UNT. And, I do think he will win here at UNT!!!! This is going to be a great opportunity to turn around the fortunes of UNT football...and basketball, etc., etc. I see good things beginning to happen with the entire program....Good people make good things happen...Dodge is a good person as well as a good coach. Let's all get behind him and UNT football and make it a great year! See you at the games....

Who Cares???? It's pro basketball after all....the most overpaid and biggest cry-babies in the world of sports.....I'll take the Spurs in 6, but won't watch a game. Bring on Mean Green basketball and football....

Yep, and when I was in HS in Dallas, you guys couldn't fight your way out of a paper sack on the football field.....it was always an easy game on the schedule when we played Woodrow! Ha! But, then...that was many moons ago....

I have already signed up for the EXES bus trip to OU...can one get on the ticket list by calling the UNT ticket office or what???? Don't want to ride up on the bus and listen to the game outside the stadium without a ticket...what a bummer that would be...UGH!

I don't see much of a problem if we sold beer in the stadium...responsibly....that means to check ID's and stop selling at the end of the third quarter...and make sure it's draft beer in plastic or foam cups. Don't want anything "dangerous" as potential weaopns in the stands...really, I go to many sporting events where beer is sold...it does not make the difference on whether I attend or not, I would just like to sip a cold one at the game ... if I wanted to, but there is beer sold at Fouts...in the Ben E. Keith pavilion...I believe...and besides...how can you beat FREE BEER at the taligate parties before the games? I just want folks to fill the seats this year...whatever it takes....

I agree with the post on TU website...it's the Sun Belt Conference that currently hurts our image...BUT, folks...we haven't been much of a factor even in the the Sun Belt Conference the last few yeras...let's get it back to a winning program...then we can worry about a new conference, losing Dodge, etc., etc. WOW! Wouldn't both of those things be great things to be worrying about? Hey, Donavan left Florida for the NBA...Nat'l Champs coach left....they all leave...hate to break it to ya! Let's get UNT on a winning roll first, and then we can all "chat" on GOMEANGREEN.COM when/if Coach Dodge will lleave and when/if we can get into a "better" conference than the Sun Belt. SOOOOOOOOO, first...let's get some "rear ends" in the seats for the home games this year...that means students, UNT faculty and UNT staff too....hey, the faculty and staff even get reduced price tickets.....come on...let's pack the stands...my wife and I will be there...hope to see you there too! GO MEAN GREEN!

Who cares????? Pro basketball is a joke!!!!! Bring on the college game! Don't care...the entire season is a joke....Won't even watch the finals...well, maybe when it gets down to a game that actually means something...like watching the Texas Rangers...UGH! It's OVER! Just thought I'd give you Pro Basketball folks something to yell about...Ha! :-)

Hey, I agree...we have a great softball stadium....now, back to baseball....WHY BASEBALL and not men's soccer????? Baseball costs more than soccer...more equipment, more travel, more games, etc., etc. AND, we alreday have a home soccer complex that is just fine! Soooooooooo, we spend money for a new baseball field...11.7 scholarships (how many do you need for men's soccer????), new uniforms, coaching staff, support staff, etc., etc. Who is the BIG DOG SUPPORTER paying for all this? I did hear a rumor somewhere that there was a LARGE contribution made to start men's baseball...anyone know if that's true or not? We use Title IX as an excuse for lots of things, but why ddoes it not factor into starting up baseball? Just wondering...

I agree...Just because you are on some "reality TV show" does not make you a "special alum"....Geeez...what are we coming to these days...we even let kids who have not "qualifed" (pass the TAKS test...or whatever it's called these days) to graduate from HS go to their "graduation ceremonies"...give me a break! Reminds me of the little sports teams, etc. these days where everyone gets a trophy. Gee, we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings now do we????? Give it up for the PC crowd! Let's get some "quality" alums back for events...UNT has some great alumn who have made real differences in their chosen fields...let's hear from them...OK...off my soapbox!

NT80 and All....I KNOW as fact that the Denton Chapter of the NT Exes is working to increase both membership and participation. They have several mixers and other events already in the planning stages for the comming year. In fact, the first social mixer is set for July 18th at 6PM at the Athletic Complex off Bonnie Brae. As Bob Barker says..."Come on Down"...check it out and see what the enton Chapter is doing. The auction is an event planned and manned by the Denton Chapter with proceeds going to scholarships. I would say that if you are a Denton County resident that you should be getting the Denton chapter mailings...if not...PLEASE call the Exes office on campus and make sure they get you on the mixer and events mailing list. I think the cards for the July mixer will be going out in the next couple of weeks or so...not sure exactly. Even if you or someone you know is a UNT alum but not a memebr of the Exes...bring'em along...the more the merrier...hey, they might decide to join...I have enjoyed the mixers and auction that I have attended this last year, but they were "under attended" if you ask me....hey, what's not to like about free munchies, free refershments and great UNT talk with new and old friends???? Point here is....come see...if ore folks start participating in events and joing the Exes, the more that the Exes can do...SEE YOU ON THE 18th of July.

Hey "Coffee and TV"...what's with the Everton shield? Big football fan are you????? Believe it or not...I'm a Sky Blues fan....go ahead let me know about the relegation a couple of seasons ago. But, have you seen the new Sky Blues stadium in Coventry? BIG TIME. I hear there is a possibility that another American will buy the Sky Blues and spend the pounds/$$$$ to get them back into the Premiership. Yippee!

WOW! It's a positive step that this type of thread gets play when it comes to Mean Green sports.....when was the last time folks were even talking about ticket prices at UNT for football? "Me thinks" this is a good sign in some ways!

So, what's everyone's gripes about the Exes? O.K., don't "shower me" with answers, but......I recently "got off the road", and have reconnected with the Exes...attended a few Denton Exes Mixers and the auction. Found them all to be good fun, but not well attended. I understand the Denton Exes are working to "change the perception" some into a group that is actually doing things and working to boost spirit and attendance at UNT events. You must remember that the Exes is not an "athletic" only group. Exes represent all areas of the University. However, the Denton Exes recently put the "Sink Navy" T-Shirt out, sponsored the auction that brought in about $20,000 for UNT scholarships and are gearing up for some quartely...if not more often... events in 2007. If you are a memebr of the Exes and the Denton Chapter...watch your mailbox in the next few weeks or so. I hear the Denton Exes have a great July mixer planned. Why don't you come...it will be open to non-members too as I hear...and see what's happening these days with the Denton Chapter at least. The more folks that get involved, the better. Joining is a great thing...but joining AND participating is even better. You tend to get out of something what you put into it it seems to me. New slate of officers for the Denton Chapter as of May...I hear they are already preparing for 2007. JOIN and come be part of the action. Hey, can't hurt to come and see what's happening...or at least "trying to happen" with the Denton Chapter. You may just be pleasantly surprised. What do you have to lose? I'll be there!

I think drex is on to something here...we do not need to be the ones with the 40% in a 60/40 mix at a home game. With OSU we should get some "push" out by the Athletic Dept. and the Exes to boost attendance for this...and all...the basketball games. I admit that I have not been as regular as I was in the past at UNT basketball games...only did two last year...had season tickets for close to twenty years...but...got bored...sorry...it was a fact...kind of like DD football, but like football, the times they are a changing at UNT. YIPPEE!!!! Let's see what we can do to "push" this game into the limelight a bit and get some great attendance...hopefully, it will spill over to all the home games. Needs to....hey, let's get the Exes to do a T-Shirt like they are doing for the Navy football game...."Sink OSU"...O.K., that might not work, but maybe something about Cowboys and their horses?????? Go Mean Green...JOIN THE EXES and Get involved with them!

Just hold on to your hat .. or any other part of your anatomy you want... the changes the new Prez is going to make is just beginning...student centerd...research centerd...she says you can have both...me, I'm not to sure...and that means "student centered" gets the short end of the stick...we'll see where this goes...Prez's report out today!

This is GREAT news...this is the type of team we SHOULD be playing all the time. Great team, great traditions and great fans follow OSU. Good job to get OSU here early in the season...it will be fun going to Stillwater to watch the games the next two seasons. I hope my schedule is claer so I can go! Looks like both football AND basketball are looking to upgrade their programs and are, in fact, doing something concrete about it. GREAT! Go Mean Green!
