GreenMachine.....WHAT????? I don't think ANYONE ever said or even inferred that Drex was gay...where did you get that? You obviously do not know drex very well. You should get to know him...one of the greatest UNT fans and supporters ever! We shall, indeed, carry on! Did I miss a joke here, somewhere, maybe.........

As of Nov. 5th I still do not have my tickets. They told me they mailed them on Nov. 2nd. I live in denton...how long does it take? They said to give it until FRIDAY and then call back. Are you kidding me????? FRIDAY????? No way, i wait that long on something mailed in Denton to Denton. I am calling on the 7th and get a ticket reprint. They were rather "not concerned" about it when i called. Not real customer friendly or overly interested in their ticket buying fans in the ticket office these days it appears. I would like them all to take a "customer service class". ha! Fat chance!!!! I just pay the freight...what should I expect...nice helpful folks? Where oh where has the concept of customer service gone on the UNT campus these days???

Did anyone else catch the significance of DREX's comments...and, no, I do not mean about Casey Fitzgerald.... It's the comment about a fiance!!!! So we know now that "hell does freeze over" and that "pig's do fly". I have met DREX's bride to be, and all I can say is that DREX is "marrying UP"...way up!

Great idea, SUMG....maybe the great drex could create a banner or something. He's the best I know at that sort of thing. By the way, great to see Casey Fitz at the Coach Dodge Show last night in support of his coach! He's showing some good leadership...and I know it was a tough thing to do, but it was great he was there and I told him so. We should definitely get behind the effort to get him the record. Plenty of time and throws in the season left for him to get to 92 or more. Let's GO CASEY! GO MEAN GREEN...beat Navy. Hmmmmmmmmmm...I just hope we can hold on to the ball against Navy long enough to get plenty of opportunities for Casey. These Navy boys do like to eat up the clock...one of our goals for the game should be to make Navy punt at least 3 times! GO MEAN GREEN...SINK NAVY!

See you there....

If you missed the Coach Dodge show last evening you missed the best one yet, and the best and biggest crowd. It was great to see all the support...including several current and former players...for Coach Dodge and the UNT program. That guy is so positive in the face of all this "stuff" that is going around, and he is such a positive role model for our players. The players in attendance seemed to really appreciate what he is trying to do for them...both on and OFF the playing field. Anyway, I was glad I made it to the show and VERY happy to see all the support. The Navy game is going to be great, and we should certainly fill Fouts for this one. I can't wait. I just hope we can make Navy punt a few times...seems they have punted about five times all year. Look for a "ball control" game from Navy. Should be fun to watch how our defense handles the Navy offense. With the way the defense has come on in the last few games, we might just see a real "battle" in the trenches that goes the way of the Mean Green. I just hope the offense has some answers, and the Mean Green gets on the board early and often. Can't wait...should be a blast. Looks like great football weather too. Come on out....GO MEAN GREEN!!!! See you Saturday!

We are heading into the deep abyss of things not football. Can we get back on track here? This whole situation is getting WAY too much press and comment...Let it die! It is all a bunch of "you know what" from a couple of kids who should have "kept it in house", but, for whatever reason, felt like they should open their traps. Too youg...too inexperienced...too "me, me, me". Give it a rest!

BUMP...who is coming to the Nov. 7th Mixer? Should be a great time to visit with other Mean Green Exes members and friends and to hear about the men's and women's basketball programs for 2007/08...and hear what's up at the Murphy Enterprise Center. Are you coming? Starts at 6PM...make plans now to be ther on the 7th.

Don't know what happened to the ladies as the season wore on as I was not able to make that many games this season...but, it isn't John Hedlund. The guy can coach and he has done some very good recruiting in the metroplex. I think we'll see the ladies "bounce back" quickly... Tough way to end up what looked like a very promising season, but we'll see better things ahead. You can count on it...the Lady Eagles are awesome! GO MEAN GREEN!

I'll be there. I doubt many folks who dislike TD will be there. It's way too positive for a bunch of "grump buckets" who like to find the negative in everything...but, COME ON DOWN...all are welcome. We need good turnout for tonight's show. man, Navy looked pretty good against ND. I wonder if we will get the ball for more than 10-15 min. the whole game? We better "make it count" when we do have the ball. How would you like to be the Navy punter? Must be the loneliest job in college football these days! So...our goal...make him PUNT more than once! GO MEAN GREEN! BEAT NAVY...in the words of the immortak drex..."Sink Navy"...and I'll autograph that shirt for an extra $10.00!!!!!

Be careful...be very careful.

Oh, I see...When trying to be funny on this board you can make personal attacks and that's just swell with everyone. And, to top it off, if you are not real happy about being used in such a way, then you are a "weenie" and over sensitive. Gee, no one told me the rules...WOW, I can really put up some "funny stuff" now. If that's your idea of "funny"...count me out!
-
Quoner...you owe me and UNT Flyer a big apology. If not, you should be banned from this board. I dare you or anyone to read the post I put up or the piost that UNT Flyer put up and find anything that even remotely smacks of racism. You have a lot of nerve and you need to grow up! I have enjoyed reading several of your posts and felt you were adding to the discussion in mostly positive (and sometimes humorous) ways. But that comment is WAY out of line. If you have any sense of decency, I will be seeing your apology ASAP, and you will refrain from these unfounded personal attacks. As my mother would say, "How dare you speak of what you do not know"!

Too bad...it's a shame when something like this "goes public". You KNOW there is much more to the story than a simple comment about "the Hood"...whatever that looks like in Lawton, OK and Denton, Texas. This "stuff" should have been kept "in house". The ONLY reason to call the NAACP and to go public is to intentionally try to hurt the program that you are a pert of and have been for awhile. Say what you want, the kid should be GONE! It's a team and you keep this kind of thing "in house". And then...AND ONLY THEN...when thigs do not improve do you try this sort of grandstand play. That, my friends is all it is, a grandstand play in an attempt to hurt the program. Sorry it happened. But, seems to me to be just another example of the way things are going in society today. Gee..."he dissed me"...or something like that. What in the "sam hill" does that mean?????? Wait until you get out in the "real world", kid, and see if you get "dissed"? UGH! Way too bad. UNT does not need this sort of thing. I am sorry for everyone in this situation. D. Green is probably a "BMOC" with some of his "buds" right now, but, my guess, he will soon regret this whole thing. But, by then ... damage done. If you boil it all down, it is probably nothing more than a bit of testosterone flowing in two guys at the wrong time. Give it a rest...work it out...in house...and get back on the field. Too bad...way too bad for ALL concerned because D. Green, the coaches, etc. are all good "folks", and no one needs this "stuff"! And, no one needs "outside" parties "investigating" ANYTHING!

World Series
KRAM1 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Gee, another great "World Series" blowout. How many 4 game or 5 game blowouts have there been now in a row? Unless you are a Boston fan, this was a BAD series to watch. Let's at least have a little competition. When they spend as much time as they did last night talking about A-Rod, you know the game is a bummer! Sorry, baseball fans, you have to admit, this was not much of a series..."World" Series???? I guess I missed that team from Japan or India or England being invited to play in the "World" series. can we not just rename it the "Championship Series" or something? O.K., sorry...what little I do like about baseball comes from the traditions of the game, leave it World Series, but get rid of the designated hitter. A tactic used to draw back the "American Fan" who seems to like only offense and will find any excuse to "corrupt" a game just to add some scoring because they are too "antsy" to appreciate the beauty of the sport as it was meant to be played. O.K., come on...jump in here...this is too much fun. Bring it on, I know you are just waiting out there, you baseball folks...love you all! -
Anyone planning on attending? I am...my wife and I will be there...how about you?
-
Great news...I bought season tickets again this year for the first time in about five years...had them for about 20 years before letting them go. I am glad to have them back, but don't really know where they are located! Really, my wife (sorry guys, I know what you are thinking) was the one who went over and bought them and she cannot remember where the seats are located! I kid you not...as my kids used to say...."MY BAD!". Hey, give me a break, at least my wife is willing to go over and get them. GO MEAN GREEN! JOIN THE EXES!
-
See everyone on the 5th. Be sure and come out and support Coach Dodge and the team. They need our support, and we can help turn this "ship" around with our support. Pardon the pun..."ship"...it's the Navy game, get it? O.K., lame joke...sorry! Anyway, see you next Monday at 6:30PM at Sweetwater. Yes, you might just meet a Mean Green fan you do not already know...I have! It;s fun and a great way to wind down after the day!

Tough loss, but more wins to come! GO MEAN GREEN!
-
Come Early...it will be a sellout! This should be a really fun game and a great experience overall for college football in Denton. "Be there or be square"! GO MEAN GREEN!

Wow, you guys blast the alumni side when you look across and the student side is, at best, and I am being generous here, 2/3 full! Give me a break! I did not haer any booing and I did not see any "crud" going on. Maybe there was, but it was not the first time it happened in a college game, and it was not going to be the last. If it bothers you, bring ear plugs, but don't stay home! I guess you have never been to an OU or Texas game, and you should have been here last year under DD to get a real earful of the booing. I heard it last year. Now, just what do you want the guys in the "paying seats" to do. Jump up and down and scream and hollar at every first down or completed pass, or stand up and block everyon'e view just because we are going for a first down on third down from the 40? O.K., go ahead, but I liike to act like I've been there before. I get up and yell and I do the "North - Texas" cheer, etc., etc., but, geez louise, don't give me a load of "stuff" just because I don't paint my face green, strip down to the waist in 40 degree weather, wear some green "stuff" in my hair and act like we just won a BCS bowl every time we make a first down! Go ahead, if you want too...me, been there done that. I'm a fan, I love the Mean Green, I buy tickets and I come to the games. Fill up the student side WITH STUDENTS (not opposing team fans) and I'll get over stressed about the "lazy" alumni side. Folks, I do agree...cut out the booing and the name calling when it comes to "our guys and our coaches"...go ahead, have a field day with the opposing team!

It's "growing pains" folks, plain and simple. We get penalties...they get penalties. Did you watch any of the games on TV Saturday or Sunday? Lots of "yellow flags" floating around and lots of "big time" coaches and programs being flagged. It's frustrating, but "stuff" happens. Lots of "young guy testosterone" (is that how you spell it?) flowing out there. It's tough to hold the emotions, etc. in tact...AND, we are growing up with each game. That's the players, the coaches and the fans. Everyone needs to come back to earth and realize we are in for a tough rebuilding and growing year. But, up until the very end we were in the game Sat. and I was very proud of the way our guys came out in the second half and cut down the deficit. I was, up until "the interception", convinced that UNT was going to win the game. We were in it, and had the "Mo". But, it was not to be. Bring on Navy...."Sink Navy"...bring out the rowboats for the Navy boys! Be there early...it will be a sellout! Anchors Away!!!! GO MEAN GREEN! Keep the faith you Mean Green Nation members. You WILL be rewarded...sooner than later! Me, I had fun at the tailgate area before the game, watching the parade, and watching the game. It was a great fall afternoon on a college campus!

Sports Capital Of The U.s.
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
No comments out there? Come on GMG posters...surley you have a thought on this. I thought it was an interesting idea to ponder, but hey, on to bigger and better...let's talk about lawyers! Just kidding...that thread is long past its useful life. If not the New England area, where at this time? -
UNTBOWLER...just what is that white thing across the dogs nose???? It's all about the wins and the money. If these kids were not stars on the team, guess how fast the coach would do the "right thing"? When is the last time a coach didn't take a "super star" because of character issues? Am sure it has happened, but the money involved in college sports these days sure seems to "help" coaches, fans and donars "look the other way". Too bad. The lessons being learned are not the lessons I worked hard to teach my kids. Had a son that played sports all the way through college. If you have not had that experience, well, it can be interesting to be that close and see what is done in some programs. Too bad, but we need look no further than the mirror to see who "created this monster". When a coach in college sports makes over $2million per season...AND UP....but is fired for a 7-5 record and a bowl that is not a BCS bowl, well, do you not think it sets up this sort of thing? TEMPTATION...Oh, the temptations. We need to do more to recognize the kids doing the right thing and the programs doing the right thing! Stop recruiting this sort of character issue in the first place. Let the kids know that if they want to play sports, they have to keep their noses clean...start in Junior High and soon enough this sort of garbage might just stop. But, I wonder if anyone has the guts to start?
