SAD....very sad

Wish I had known you were going last night...could have had a Mean Green mug or two or three....I've got tckets and I read that parking is free...but the rest will set me back a little. Depends on how many beers my wife will want. She is disappointed that they are only 16 ouncers...she remembers the Litre mugs in Munich at the Hofbrau house. We are "practicing" in Addison this year as we are headed to Munich for Oktoberfest itself next year....come on 2009!

Hold tight today...should be interesting. Hope you didn't sell out and lock in those losses earlier this week.

I bet a buddy $5.00 that Lifer wouldrespond to my soccer comment with something about baseball. Thanks, Lifer, you just got me a free pint at Oktoberfest this Saturday in Addison. Some folks are just so predictable! Yes, they are...sort of like my soccer comments. I'll remember you and give you a little "toast" when I sip the cool one Saturday, Lifer. Nice, very nice! Should have bet a $20!

Am told that the student vote is a must, so its probably a go...after that, it depends. One step at a time folks...progress is being made...one step at a time, but at least it is "forward progress". And, I do not think Fouts is a dump!!!! Sure UNT needs a new stadium, but you sure havene't been to many other stadiums around the country if you consider Fouts a "dump". Old, cramped, lacks modern amenities, small press box, track, etc., etc. But, Fouts is no where near a dump! It's certainly much better now than when I was a UNT undergard so many years ago. Heck, we even have a "drunk tank"! Speaking of the "drunlk tank"...rumor has it that the Miller and Bud "free beer give-a-way was back for the Tulsa game. Can someone confirm that for me? If so, how and the he4ck did I miss that????? DUMB ME! Free beer and i walked by the tents numerous times. Last season, Ms Prez B cut out the free beer...has "she who must be obeyed" relented???? Man, I hope so. Tell me it's true!!!!!!

Cuban could say that he and the Mavs disagree totally with his comments, that they were disrespectful on so very many levels and that his comments in no way are reflective of the views of the Mavericks and its ownership. That would, at least, be a start.

Here we go again with another Josh Howard "brain lapse"! Time for this guy to move on out of Dallas. he is a disgrace to the Mavericks, to himself and to the NBA. Seems in July he was filmed disrespecting the national anthem in a big way. Paper reports that he said "The Star-Spangled Banner is going on. I don't celebrate this (expletive). I'm black." This was caught on tape/video and posted on YouTube....and it comes after his July arrest for street racing, and last season's brillant admission of drug use. The guy is a clown. He plays a GAME and gets paid tons of $$$$ for doing so...can he not just act like an adult sometime???? Just one more example of an over-paid, under-educated and highly spoiled professional athlete shooting his mouth off! GOOD GRIEF! And, what is the Maverick'sresponse? Classic...they are going to hold "communication training" during the pre-season training camp. Yep, that will do it...great response! You go Mavs! That will do it for sure!

I think greenjoe has a valid point...man, why in the world would he sign Up there"...it's cold up there! I predict he will leave and head back...perhaps to UNT. heck, he really hasn't signed a thing as yet...has he? It was a "commitment"...doesn't mean all that much...as we have seen in recent years!

greenminer...I am on no "high horse" as you call it because I respect the national anthem of this great nation of ours. Unlike you in this case...and I am only talking about this case...I think she has the personal responsibility of knowing what and why she is doing what she is doing! If not...don't do it. Time to take responsibility for what one does and not "blame it" on others "at the top". They share blame, of course, but she did it and she knew full well what she was doing. Sorry, she gets no pass from me this time...she may be young and as someone else said "beautiful", but where does it say those two things give anyone a "pass" on stupidity and disrespect??? Sorry, just me...it is a BIG DEAL as this sort of thing seems to be happeneing more and more these days, and is simply disrespectful. Like burning the American Flag in protest...it might be legal, and let's all hope it stays that way, but it darn sure isn't right! And, it darn sure disrespects a lot of folks who have given a ton to make sure it keeps flying. Just me...

Jerry Jones and the entire Dallas Cowboy organization should be very embarrassed by this and should shoulder the blame for not checking her out to a much greater degree. My guess...bowing to "political" pressure.

By the way...when Pres. Reagan took office the unemployment figures were higher than they are today! Just some perspective folks...some perspective. The sky IS NOT falling!

Folks I have heard our current situation being described in the same terms as the "Great depression". OK, so maybe there should be a liitle perspective on a couple of things: UNEMPLOYMENT: Great Depression 20-30% national unemployment from time to time 2008 - 6.1% Past Due Mortgage Loans: Great Depression....approaching 50% 2008 - under 3% Those were the latest figures I heard from a news cast yesterday. Pretty interesting perspective, wouldn't you say? I do however, understand the depth of the current situation. It is not pretty, but it is not "doom and gloom" either. The American Financial system will withstand this "correction" ( smile here) and will emerge stronger. If you have a long term perspective on your investing, now just might be a great time to load up on the stocks of sound companies...and there are plenty of sound companies to choose from. Sleep well, this too shall pass! Just a bit of positive perhaps in a sea of negative media coverage. I will admit, the above figures were from a newscast I heard yesterday...ahve not "confirmed them" one way or the other....but, thoufght the comparisons were "interesting" to say the least. Now, have a GREAT DAY.....The great american stock sale is ON!!!!! Some "brave" folks will make a done of $$$$...I hope I can be brave enough to make just a little out of this in the long term. Look at the very bright side...we are now getting info on donation commitments and actual dates for such things as "ground breaking". With that type of good news, it does not bother me at all that the date looks like 2011 and not 2010. Earlier would be better, of course, and we may still see "push backs" in the timeline, but the project is "on", it has been announced and more and more info is being shared publicly. GREAT!!! GO MEAN GREEN!

I agree...that was AWFUL! Why do folks think they need to screw with the anthem? It is fine as it is...sing it correctly!!!! And, who in sam hill is Kat Deluna???? I am really tired of folks wanting to sing the national anthem in some "original" manner. The vast majority of the time it SUCKS when they mess with it. AND, who the heck picked Kat Deluna??? Was there even an audition???? GOOD GRIEF!!!! BAD...very bad!

Original is one of my all time favorite sci-fi movies. I am thinking this re-make not so much! I have a sinking feeling that the folks want to send some sort of "message" that we are so very bad...and what's up with the superpowers for K?????? I'll have to watch a couple more episodes before I make the "final answer" on this one...interesting...jury is still out for me.

I guess I am too much of an optimist...I see no rabbit hole here at all. The financial markets will handle this as it has other "shakeups". The gov. NOT bailing them out is a very good thing for the long term as it will let the folks on Wall Street know that going forward, they can't do "stupid stuff" with the expectation that Uncle Suger will bail them out. Yep, will have some short term "pain" as they say, but long term this is a good thing. At least that's my take right now and I am sticking with it until proven wrong....and, I hope I'm not! Just one of those little "corrections" we go through every so often...HOPEFULLY!
