What, they scheduled a football game and a soccer game broke out?????
-
Yes to "Ole Green Guts"...but, where have you been while I have been getting hammered for saying the same thing for some time now! VINDICATION is sweet when it comes from someone who has "been there and is doing that"! OK, I am sure the post wasn't in support of my postings...I just wanted to "think" it was...BUT, WAY TO GO...RIGHT ON Ole Green Guts!!!!

While absolutely NO fan of Leach, I do like his fast paced game...UNFORTUNATELY the guy (who may be a real nice guy off the field) is a COMPLETE JERK on the field. And my guess is that if you only had ONE BEER with Leach you either got there late or left early! He is a disgrace to sport! Say wahat you want about "winning margin and the BCS", the guy is absolutel "no class" from the word GO on a football field. So, now do you want me to tell you what I really think of Leach as a coach? I am, in no way, speaking of him in a personal manner off the field...I have no clue...just his on-field persona... I am hoping UT hand a hundred on 'em!!!!!! But, in reality this could be a close and great game to watch...not a UT fan, but here I say....GO HORNS...kick the snot out of that blowhard Leach!!!!! UT- More than Tech Tech - Less than Texas

All I will say to this is WOW! Some "interesting" line of thought on this thread. I am a pretty simple guy when it comes to illegal stuff...obne rule...DON'T DO IT...IF YOU DO and YOU GET CAUGHT...You deserve what you get! I am out of the it's "only" MJ...I don't care...it's illegal. make it legal and then I say treat it like we alcohal laws, DWI's, etc. Until then...It's Illegal. But then, some folks see absolutely nothing wrong with folks coming into this country and staying her ILLEGALLY! What's wrong with it is THAT it is illegal! And, correct me if I am wrong here....I think players play better sober. I support Dodge with the testing thing...many more players tested fine than the 15 who made the decision to let themselves and their teammates down with so bad choices. Let's celebrate AND PLAY the one's who did the right thing for a change and not "reward" the athletes who screwed it up! GO MEAN GREEN.... I say START THE CLEAN TEAM!!!!!

Man, that hurts! Kind of flys in the face of "any PR is good PR", doesn't it. Ok, it's done...now let's get on with "righting this ship" and getting it headed in the winning direction! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

YEP...just found that out about the Hall of Fame...eneterd the Hall in 2006! Well deserved, if not a bit late! Thanks, Dr. Lowe for the great soccer memories...and for being one of the very best profs in the history of UNT!

I give that a big "RIGHT ON"...the press is beyond belief with what they have done and continue to do in this election...but how about all the "free" media ads Obama is getting through shows such as SNL and all the media replays and the Opie Andy commericail. That thing has been replayed as "news" over and over...free campaign ad and nothing less! Good Grief! I NEVER want to hear anyone say anything negative about FOX News and its conservative slant EVER again. The "slant" is nothing compared with today's "mainsttream media" all out love-fest with Mr. Obama. Blind is as blind does in the media world today! Opinions = News in most media outlets today.... is it any wonder why newspaper circulation is dropping like a rock? This stuff certainly doesn't help!

Dr. Lowe was one of the BEST!

I am good with any QB Dodge wants to start...VIZZA, TUNE or MEAGER...in my opinion they each could take UNT to its first win of the season against WKU. I see no reason to pull Vizza, but if you want to provide a "spark", why not the senior Meager? UNT has won with him at QB, remember? How about spliting time with Meager and Tune if you must sit Vizza for the game? What say you to that? And, other than "providing a spark" why call for the change?

North Texas Makes A Mess For The Exes In Homecoming Loss To Troy
KRAM1 replied to mgsteve's topic in Mean Green Football
OK, another loss, but this alum had a very good time at homecoming considering everything. The weather was great, the tailgating was super, Miller of Denton was again handing out free adult beverages (the 16oz kind) and brats, the school of business had a great homecoming tent with food and drinks, I visited the UNT Alumni Tailgate event...very nice... the ladies of North Texas were, as usual, magnificant, we got to thank the students for their support in the stadium vote and I got to meet a great North Texan member of the Hall of Fame...Mr. Rodriquez and his lovely wife in the Mean Green Club tent prior to the game...and this is not to mention I got to meet Flyer and bstnsports and visit with lots of other Mean Green fans. So, other than the final score....I had a GREAT TIME! Sort of like the press interview of Ms. Lincoln at Ford's Theatre..."Well, other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the play"? GO MEAN GREEN! -
ONLY 15???? I am relieved as I had heard a few weeks ago that there was a failed drug test and that 30 players had failed! So, I find the "silver lining" once again! Yippee! OK, seriously, I agree that if you tested the general student population on most every campus in the nation you would get more than 17% positives! OK, what drugs were they? I have no clue but probably the kind you smoke...that weedy stuff....I would guess. Now, question, does booze count in the drug testing???? Perhaps a few got caught with the steroid thing, who knows. But, any athlete who knows they will be tested and still gets caught has to be a bit "off" when the smart meter is applied! Also...ANYONE doing drugs is a little off the smart meter in the first place. Hey, I say the same thing about anyone who smokes today KNOWING what we know to be the facts regarding the health costs of smoking to both the smoker and to the public as a whole in increased medical costs and insurance premiums for all... Maybe this is a big part of the "challenges" Dodge is having with the team. He may have "lost" some of the team by testing everyone and going further than the NCAA says he has to go. Don't know, but maybe.... I also 100% agree...if 17% of your players test positive you DO HAVE A DRUG PROBLEM on the team. Looks to me like he is dealing with it. I would imagine that some of the players are not happy with the way the situation is being handled by the coaching staff. Just my guess.... Sorry to see the confirmation of the "rumor" come to light, but glad it was not the 30 I was told about.... Man, what a season.......
-
I doubt it...they would just become "our fat guy" jokes! Do you really think he will live long enogh to become "anyone's next coach"???? Man, heart must be working overtime! You would think a college coach...with access to great workout space and equipment and a ton of experienced fitness folks would want to do something to lose a bit of weight. Oh, well, I guess another cheesburger beckons!
-
Thought ND let Ty go? Did I miss something..why did they let a winning coach go if he was, in fact, winning at ND? Just asking an honet question...I simply don't recall.

Time To Let Daniel Meager Play Quarterback, Then Put
KRAM1 replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm betting on the chicken! Too funny! Thanks for bringing the fun back in..... LOVE IT! -
I would say that just because a guy has proved he can lose at major DI schools is no reason to get excited!

WELCOME ABOARD AND WELCOME TO THE AREA. Yes, tailgating has taken off at UNT. The reason it appears to be "new" (7 years) is that it was not allowed for many years prior to that. This last weekend we had a great turnout for tailgating...and I can assure you that tailgating at UNT is far better than at SMU! SMU tries to emulate Ole Miss, but does a very poor job. Tailgating at UNT is REAL! It is also getting better and better, and your "experience" would be welcome...experienced tailgaters are ALWAYS welcome at UNT. Even with our on-field record this year, tailgating is growing and the gameday experience is better and better each game. I arrived about 3 1/2 hours before our game Saturday and things were going great...was invited into several tailgate tents and met several members of this board and the Mean Green Nation as a whole. Come on to Denton and UNT for gameday and give it a shot...you'll love it. That being said, our next home game (last one of the year) is not until the Saturday after Thanksgiving against Ark. State when students are out for T-Day break...lack of student attendance and weather might prove a challenge for tailgating "firt timers" but I'll let others on the board give you their thoughts on the matter. I say welcome aboard...pleased to have you! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Thanks 97 and 03 ... Iwas going to point out that Ty Willingham had some fours years to try to turn it around at Washington. If the same problem exists at UNT under Dodge AFTER FOUR YEARS...well, the eveluations can begin! Until then, GO DODGE...GO UNT!!!!!! Dodge will get it turned around.

KRAM1 replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
Man, have you been sleeping, Cerebus? You want folks to act like adults??? Have you seen some of the comments on the board lately, really????? Just kidding, I know you are "out there" in cyberspace just lurking and waiting to pounce! Welcome back to your rightful role. -
OK, I'll get it going with the usual predication....no really...I have it this time...it's going to happen....here it goes: UNT - 38 WKYU - 32 TIME FOR THAT FIRST 2008 win and UNT gets it on the road...WHY??? Well, if you attended, as I did, last year's game at Fouts in that terrible weather (yes, I stayed for the entire game and even walked out to a flat tire I had to change before heading home - UGH!!!), you will know that UNT has a score to settle with these guys! Before, during and after the game WKYU players were VERY disrespectful and very cocky for a team "moving up" to DI ball. If UNT cannot get fired up enough to win this one, well what can they get fired up about. I also think they will pull together and win this one for themselves!!! I do...I think UNT wins this one. Now, I must say, it was pointed out to me in the stands at Fouts Saturday night that my predictions have not been veruy good this year! So, have they ever been good???? NO...if you go to Vegas and I tell you to bet on a crtain team to win...well, that should help you decide which way to vote...BUT, this time I am SURE! UNT WINS AT WKYU!!!!!! Anyone else with a prediction??? GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
