Just FYI...at Oklahoma State students pay $3.00 per credit hour athletic fee and a $2,50 per credit hour student activity fee (as only two of several "fees" being paid). On top of that students pay $242.00 for football tickets alone. At the moment I do not have the cost of basketball, wrestling, baseball, etc. tickets. I know basketball and wrestling tickts have to be purchased by the students, but don't know about baseball, etc. Just something to comapre.

So, let's show up and see what happens. I am "outta here"...I have posted my last on practice today or anyday. I do not want to be the cause of "confusion" on this topic...other topics I am more than fine "confusing folks", but not on this one...sorry for the "bad info"...or at least confusing info. I may just have to show up and see what happens since I live in denton anyway...no biggie if I get turned away! I'll just go grad a beer or two and cry in them.

There is not enough time to wade through a CBL post in a day, so you have to respond without reading it all or your boss will catch you on GMG.com and dump on you! -
The Mona Lisa does not play in the NBA! It's in a French Museum located in paris. I have purchased a ticket for that! Not a word of spanish in the whole place that I recall except a few spanish artist names hanging around on some artsy kind of stuff. Couldn't wait to get out of the place and have a cold beer! And, a few quincenera dresses on the Mavericks might at least dress them like they play!

ACCORDING TO VITO...PRACTICE IS CLOSED TODAY....March 6th. UGH! After all thet "getting my hopes up stuff" and all.....
-
UPDATE...UPDATE....VITO says the practice is at Fouts, but it is CLOSED!!!!!! Darn, I swear I read somewhere that a Friday practice at Fouts was to be open. BUT, according to the esteemd Mr. Vito...PRACTICE WILL BE CLOSED TODAY! That's Friday, march 6th. Sorry if I got folks all excited...but, being excited about UNT football is not all that bad, right???? Sorry, I have no clue how to do "big blinking fonts". So, I assume I won't see you at Fouts...me, I may try the "sneaking in thing" anyway. Will it work if I use my Captain Kirk invisible space suit?

That's because Bowie wasn't from France!!!! Couldn't resist! Sorry.

Remember the Alamo! Too bad the "New Orleans" Alamo flag still sits in a museum in Mexico City. This is not good. Texas must have something that once belonged to Santa Anna that we could trade to get the "New Orleans" flag back on Texas soil where it belongs...yes, I know ...I know..."New Orleans"..."belongs in Texas" sounds a bit odd, but it was the falg of a group of Alamo volunteers from New Orleans. Can we trade????? REMEMBER THE ALAMO... By the way, do you know what the Cherokee nickname for Sam Hoston was? I think it translated into something like "the big drunk"...ha! And, when Houston was in Washington DC he had the habit of walking around his house naked...pretty much ended his marriage to the more proper young lady he married. Great book on Hoston's life..."The Raven"...if you enjoy Texas history I would recommed it. And, yes, I know Houston was not at the Alamo!

Because this happens to be the USA, the NBA is a US based league and it appears to me to be pandering. I don't think the NBA is doing itself any favors with this. But, since I attend about ZERO NBA ganmes each year, buy ZERO tickets to NBA games and watch only about a dozen games on TV each year (if the Mavs make the playoffs at all), I ask this question....is the Spanish only speaking population a big base of supporters for NBA teams in general? Also, Quoner, I have no problems with mulitcultural marketing, as you call it, but this is not a few spanish langure brochures, some ads on spanish language televison and radio or even newspaper ads aimed to spanish speaking audiances...THIS STUFF IS ON THE FRONT OF THE JERSEY! In case you havene't noticed, these teams are based in US cities, not places such as Madrid, Mexico City, Lima or Bogata. If they are trying to teach "Spanish as a second language" the front of jerseys is not the place. However, this is "free enterprise" working, so OK, go for it...but don't let the crowd in Washington know or they will try to nationalize the league!

OK, why? Was it something he said? -
So, Fouts it is...I understand this is to be an OPEN practice. I do hope that is correct as it would be a shame to have to try to sneak by the "gate guards" for an "open practice". I shall definitely find out this afternoon. See you at Fouts. I understand practice starts at 3:30pm...with or without the "sneaking around" stuff.

Hey, I had a class in something called "speedball" when an undergrad at UNT. It was really a great game...had parts of football, basketball and soccer all added together. We played on what is now the band practice field close to Fouts. Anyone else remember this game? It was really exciting...no standing around like that game with sicks and mitts. I'd go for that. If it make everyone feel any better, I am fully aware that men's soccer is WAY DOWN THE LIST (yes, behind baseball) of possible added sports. But, the reality of that will not stop my "one man" effort to see the return of men's soccer to UNT.
-
Charlie....Im headed that way this afternoon too, but amin the smae boat as you. I did read somewhere about a Friday "open" practice at Fouts, but have head nothing else. I asked this in an earlier post and had no reply as yet. Does anyone else know anything about today's practice? The weather should be great. Would be fun to have a realkly big crowd out for the players and coaches to see. Might encourage more open practices and/or events centered around spring practice. See you wherever it is this afternoon! GO MEAN GREEN!

Excellent...How about we get a GMC tag team match going? We'll have to find a tag team partner for Lonnie, but it could be great fun...and, we could sell tickets and enow a UNT scholarship or add it to the GMG Bowl coffers. I'd pay to see that. Who else is in???? -

I'm with greenminer...fullback or not, let's have a play or two from "under center". Lonnie...I don't come close to "hating you" as you referenced in your reply. Besides, my mother taught me to be nice to kids who have "challenges". -

2012...just where do you get your information? Sounds like a load of "mess" to me. What is your personal problem with Riley? What has he done wrong in your eyes? Seems to me that he's been a pretty good addition to the team and has done what he has been asked to do. Are you a SLC grad who was just hacked off that Riley got so much attention? I think you need to "step back", take a breath and get a firm grip on reality. Try to find something positive to focus on with the team. It will do wonders for your blood pressure. I assume that by 2012 it means you might graduate in that year or that perhaps you have have a son/daughter who will graduate in that year. Don't know, but only do know that I wonder where all your "stuff" regarding Riley and Coach Dodge comes from? Grab a beer (if you are old enough to legally do so) sit back, relax. It's a lot more fun! GO MEAN GREEN! -

Lonnie...I heard you just missed out on being the first head coach in the history of what's it name San Antonio U., but some guy named Coker beat you out. Sorry, with all your coaching brillance I was sure you would get the HC job. better luck next time. GO MEAN GREEN! -
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh...I can resist...I can resist...I can resist......I can't resist!!!! Only after the return of men's soccer!!!

I have no clue why Amber was suspended, and agree 100% that it is the call for the coach to make, but i would like to see Amber play in the tournament. She is UNT's leading rebounder and a first-team all-conference. She and Stephens certainly did not "hit it off" all that well this season, but it is the end of the road for Amber. I say, get over what ever it was this one last time, and let Amber play. Who knows, she might just add a spark the Mean Green need to win againist Denver and move on in the tournament. What ever she decides, Coach Stephens is making the right moves to get the women's program headed in a winning direction. Should be fun to watch once she gets "her recruits" on the floor in the next season or two. GO MEAN GREEN...BEAT DENVER!!!

Looks like a great move by Coach Dodge! Glad to see he will be using a tight end some this next season...he seems to be making several moves to better position the team going into 2009. This is very positive and speaks well for our head coach and his staff and players. I see "good things" for the Mean Green in 2009!!!! GO MEAN GREEN. Anyone going to practice this afternoon? I seem to recall that this is an "open practice" day...does anyone else recall seeing that posted? GO MEAN GREEN! -
T.o. Owens Released.
KRAM1 replied to Green P1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Not a bad move by the Cowboys...frees up some cap space, gets rid of a locker room problem and allows the focus to turn to Roy Williams as the go to receiver. I really don't see too much of a downside where for the Cowboys. Althgough, I do think TO is a very good receiver. Talent level has never seemed to be his challenge. -
No No No! Please no!

WOW!!!! Very nice. I hope that no one finds anything to complain about in this deal. I also hope the bus is PACKED!!!! Go Mean Green! Thanks for helping get our students to the game....VERY NICE INDEED.
