Mychal Massie..on Pelosi
KRAM1 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I like this guy. First time I have read anything from him, and don't believe I have ever heard him speak. Nice to see someone calling out Pelosi for the "nut case" that she is. Nice...thanks, Rick, for alerting me to this guy. I hope he keeps "telling it like it is". -
Oh, the "boys of spring"...how sweet it is! How anyone can watch every practice and continue to critize Riley makes me think that a personal agenda is being maintained. No matter, opinions are worth what they cost...yours, mine and everyone's. I jsut find it hard to believe people want to continue to criticize Riley after knowing the HS career he had and without ever seeing him QB a college game as the starter. Some kids just know how to win...with or without what some might say a "big time arm", "quick feet", "speed", etc. Some of those HS teams he faced were pretty darn good competition at the time and that's the level Riley was playing at the time...so, can we "hold our horses" a bit with the criticism until Riley has several games under his belt as the starter? We should start a thread about all the highly successful college players who were said to be deficient in one area or another by sports media types, by their so-called fan base, etc., etc. I would imagine we might just fill a record number of pages. Seems to me the list would be almost endless. Sort of like a list of "big time" recruits who didn't get it done and left their programs for one reason or another! I'll wait to see just how well Riley does after a few games thank you very much. However, at this point, I would give the edge to betting that he will be a solid QB for UNT and will help lead this team to many victories in the next few years. Tune is alo a good QB and I have likied him for some time. Good kid, good family. For someone to say "the team is behind Tune" makes me wonder just where that little bit of devisive information comes from...again, perhaps a personal agenda. The members of the "team" that I talk with seem to be behind Riley and Tune. The comments I hear are positive for both these guys and seem to indicate they are more than happy with Riley as #1 at this point. Who knows what will happen as the season progresses. As for "Dodge's tenue being up" at the end of the season...get a new line and give this one a rest. GO MEAN GREEN!

Free Quoner, Tasty And Green P1
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
OK, as the originator of the strike, it is now declared officially over! However, if anyone chooses to continue their strike, let it be so. I want to thank all those who joined me in the "FREE QUONER, TASTY AND GREEN P1" stike. It did appear to me that postings were significantly down on the board during the official strike period that ended Friday at 5:00PM CST. It was an "odd" cast of characters that joined in the stike I would have to say, with conservatives and liberals joining in to "make a differerence" and free our GMG.COM friends from banishment in the wilderness. Thanks again...and, whatever you choose to do with your personal strike, thanks for joinging in. For me, I miised posting, but maybe, just maybe the "gang of three" will be released a bit early from their sentances. GO MEAN GREEN...Good things are happening!!!! -
Done...thanks for the help...if I even get out of the first round I will be so lucky...GO MEAN GREEN...well, I wish they had a bracket!
-
I'll drink to that! I am in my UNT Green shirt at this very second. It's great to be green today...as it is every day! Happy St. Pat's Day...and GO MEAN GREEN!

Tried all the directions given...still cannot get in using the ID and password supplied. What am I doing wrong here? Do you first have to sign on to a Yahoo account? Then get to the site to "play"? HELP...the time for the FREE QUONER strike is about to begin and I can't post again until Friday after 5PM....YIKES!!! What will I do?????

If it were "my job" to be moderator, I would ban all the folks who always seem to be so darn negative on here...Then we could all be "Mr. Happy's" all the time and pass the Green Kool-Aid around the campfire. And, I do not recall volunteering to be a moderator. UNTPHD...Hmmmmmmm...maybe that old line about what PhD means has something to it after all. Now, don't go postal on me, just trying to have a little fun....if you don't want to join, it's OK...post away...free world! -
How about this ... we go "on strike" in supoort of Quoner, Tasty and GreenP1 by not posting anything more AFTER TODAY (It is St. Patrick's day after all) until 5:00PM THIS FRIDAY (march 20th thefirst day of spring) in the hopes that we can get Quoner, Tasty and GreenP1 "freed" from their "way too long" banishment. Who will "walk the picket line" with me????? FREE QUONER, FREE TASTY, FREE GREENP1 !!!!! I know they can be a bit "over the top" sometimes in what they post, but you gotta admit that you miss them...at least a little! Come on, admit it? They get after me about as much as anyone, and I miss them...who will join this massive STRIKE???? I'd post some neat-o graphics, but I have no clue how to do that!

Saudi Arabia & Justice
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
The American justice system can "issue" some very interesting verdicts for sure, but at least the guy went to trail. In many parts of the world, men who commit these crimes against women are hailed as "family honor defenders" in their respective countries and never go to trial much less jail. Yes, I would say there IS a difference. -
I don't disagree with your comments...but, it sure is easy to be a fan when all you have to do is "jump on the bandwagon". A real fan will support their team through thick and thin...I would think students at a university would do the same for the team that represents them. But, maybe you are right...maybe they can find excuse after excuse (see list above) for not attending games. Makes it easy to simply complain and be part of the problem instead of part of the solution. For me, it is always fun to go to a UNT game...win or lose (yes, way MORE fun when UNT wins), and I recall that when I was an undergrad at UNT we could always have a good time at the games and before and after! It was a Saturday event...not just a game! I guess that has changed also. Too bad...

I think the Hilltoppers can win this game and I darn sure hope they do! GO SUNBELT CHAMPS!
-
But, if practice was open and the SID's office made lots of announcements, what would so many folks have to complain about? See, UNT's Athletic dept. is providing good "complaining fodder" for those on this board that like to find the problems and negatives with everything that goes on with UNT athletics. See, they are doing you guys a favor. What would you do otherwise?

Nope, the glass is still at least half full for me. Glasses still have that rosey tint to them...you can sleep well...the world still spins on the proper axis! -
Oh, yes, that sounds so very much better!

Bataille Imposes New Requirement For P C
KRAM1 replied to DallasGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Now, that WOULD be interesting to know, wouldn't it? I will say that Prez B "shows up" at quite a few athletic events...she was definitely in Hot Springs for the tournament...have NEVER EVER seen Jackson at any event. Doesn't mean he hasn't been there, I just haven't seen him. Interesting side note...at one of the UNT Denton Exes (we were called Exes at that time) events I was working we were selling the "Beat Navy" T-Shirts....OK, the "Sink Navy" t-shirts...my bride and I were working T-Shirt "sales" and I approached RV to buy a T-Shirt...HE SAID NO WAY...Yep, he didn't want to buy ONE...he immediately BOUGHT TWO! Way to go RV...that is something about RV...he really supports this sort of thing with his own money and his time....so, figuring I was on to something, I asked Prez B to buy a T-Shirt to support UNT Exes scholarships (the whole point of the event was to raise scholarship money)...you would think I had asked her if she wanted to catch CANCER or something! She looked at me like...just who the heck do you think I am and how dare you ask ME...to buy a T-shirt!!!! I thought she was kidding, so I "pressed on", made a joke and asked again "how many" T-shirts she would like to buy to support UNT scholarships? She gave me the best "go to hell look" I have ever received in my entire life...really, it was a classic! I got the idea I had better shut up on the asking her part real quick! Pretty funny. Seems she is constantly asking me for dollars for the Emerald Scholars program and other scholarship efforts...and she seems to be smiling when she asks me for money. Gee, I wonder what the difference was???? Ha! Too funny....pretty interesting I thought. I will give her BIG TIME credit for showing up at the event. I was impressed that she took the time to show up...of course, she got in free and had a meal on us. But, hey, just part of the deal. We were very happy to have her. But, Greenjoe...you have a good point and question...If I were a betting man, I would say that neither have joined the Mean Green Club with their own funds. By virtue of their positions at UNT I would suspect that they HAVE membership if they want it. Before I get "hit" again as seeming to post only "interesting" things about Prez B, let me say AGAIN that I think she is doing very good work for UNT and that under her leadership, I feel UNT is heading in a positive and upward direction. She has done lots of good things for the university and will continue to do so. There, please do not think otherwise from my posts...just a couple of interesting tidbits from my personal experiences having contact with her "up close and personal" as they say.... -

Private Schools...can't be part of a state system. Hey, I thought TWU was actually part of A&M's system at one time? Probably not, but back in the day, the Aggies used to spend lots of time on the TWU campus...back when A&M was male only....some interesting "townie" stories about that time I can share "off-line" sometime. May have just been a "loose connection" between A7M and TWU.
