  1. Good news. I am gald the guy is off the streets.
  2. News wire report on 4/1/09...this is no April Fool's Day joke! "A 7-month-old boy was killed and his grandmother was injured when the woman's two pit bulls attacked the child Tuesday morning when she went to get his bottle. Police said the woman stabbed one of the dogs and got Izaiah Gregory Cox away from them, but then attacked her. Police shot and killed the dogs". The only good news here is that two more of these "wonderful pets" have been shot and killed so they cannot hurt anyone else. Nice pets, aren't they?
  3. I don't know...why don't you ask him?
  4. I hope you can open the link...this is my new favorite song and should be played on April 15th at all the Tax "Tea Parties" being held around the country. In fact, there will be one in Denton on the Courthouse square from 6 to 7:30PM on Wednesday, April 15th. Enjoy the song...it's a good one!
  5. I am just glad they didn't take Ford from OSU. He still has some work to do in Stillwater. Ford is a farmer Ky player and current alum.
  6. Another story about the orange seats at the Super Pit....I was told that they were orange to represent the "fire in the eagles eyes"...now, how is that for a lame excuse? Was told that by a member of the then AD staff. And, some of you folks complain about what you hear from current AD staffers! By the way, Greenjoe is being a bit kind...he was actually one of the leaders (with several others) in getting the seats re-covered in green. In fact, there is a palque on the concourse wall in the Super Pit with the names of folks who donated to that effort...SUMG and DREX were two others I recall being instrumental in the "change" with SUMG suggesting that folks have their names on a little plaque on the backside of the chairs they helped to re-cover. It ended up being a plaque instead. Yes, my name is on the plaque too, but all I did was donate $$$$ (see folks, you can donate $$$ even if you don't agree with everything that's going on because it is YOUR SCHOOL...see above comment about reason for orange seats). My apologies to others on this borad who worked on this prohject and/or donated $$$$...I just can't recall all the folks who were willing to help THEIR SCHOOL out in this worthwhile activity. Fire in the eagle's eyes, my what???????
  7. The Obama administration and its "puppet" of a congress at this point (that could change as not all appears to be well in the democrat house these days) create a real loose canon firing one liberal and leftist/socialist idea after another. Amazing times in these great United States these days. The "good news" so far is that many of these crack pot ideas will never see the light of day in the final analysis. But, just the idea that such things can even be thought to be "worthy" of consideration is spooky enough! I have no problem with voluntary government service (I am an Air Force veteran after all)...military or civilian...and think such service is good for both the country and the individual volunteer. It's all in the details of how it is presented and how it is run...the above ideas for Americorps are just plain WRONG. Hopefully, wiser heads will prevail.
  8. BUMP...anybody had a chance to watch this? What do you think?
  9. IT'S PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL! 'Nuff said!
  10. I do think this is a sad day for the Dallas Police Dept. I do not think this is the "rule" with the Dallas Police force, but rather an exception where a young cop went "way over board" on some sort of "power trip" and lost all sense of "right and wrong" according to the situation. These guys and ladies work their buns off each and every day to help protect the citicens of their communities, and actions such as this just make their already difficult jobs even harder. Too bad. The guy may lose his career over this incident. I hope not...because this guy will probably learn a great deal from this "stupid mistake" and be a much better cop for it in the long run. If he has not had a history of such actions, this needs to be a serious learning situation for him and cops the world over. I was once pulled over and started to step out of my car to meet the cop with my license and insurance. He made it known VERY quickly that I should stay in the care AND he had his hand on his gun when he told me that...not drawn, but ready to go! I learned too...stay in the car. These guys never know when someone will just pull a gun and blast away. I understand that. When guys (and ladies) in uniforms with guns tell you to do something...you darn sure better do it! Once that is accomplished, it is part of a cops job to evaluate the situation and "do the right thing". Can you imagine the goodwill for the Dallas Police Dept. that this cop could have created had he determined the situation and helped the family get to their relative faster...maybe even with a bit of an escort? Instead, he went on a bit of a "power trip" and just plain blew it! My guess, after having time to reflect, the cop is pretty embarrassed about the whole thing and would like to just get out of sight for awhile. By the way...it was a Cornith cop who pulled me over on Swisher Rd. who had the hand on the gun....it was early morning on the way to work and I was driving a bit over the limit. He ended up giving me a "warning" and sending me on my way. Said he did so because of my cooperation and the fact that when he checked I was "free" of tickets, etc. He made me "promise" not to speed on Swisher going forward....fact is, I drive the limit or lower on Swisher for the three years after that "warning" and intend to do so for the future. Shows what some cooperation and some "understanding" of the situation by the cop can do...I think very highly of the Cornith Cops these days. Anyway, sad day for the Dallas Police and for this officer and for the Moats family...there are NO WINNERS HERE!
  11. I hope the link works that is attached. This is a member of England's House of Commons commenting on the "state of things". Sounds eerily familiar, doesn't it?
  12. OK, so no kid ever "filled out" once he got to college????? Geeeeeezzzzzzzz...if Riley were 6' 4" and weighed 250 lbs some people on this board would just find something else to criticize him about BEFORE he ever takes a snap as UNT's starting QB. UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE! You guys sound like "trash talkers" playing for the visiting team!
  13. Don't worry, the Rangers will trade them away before they make the majors so another team can reap the benefits. Pitching and Rangers should never be used in the same breath. Many pitchers do not want to play for the Rangers because the Ballpark is not rated very friendly to pitchers. I find that hard to believe...can any baseball fan out there tell me if that's true or not?
  14. BAD BOY...BAD COMMENT!!!!
  15. Pitching and the Rangers in the same breath? You simply have to be either kidding or dreaming.
  16. Yes, this just proves the old saying..."be careful what you ask for..." In this case...BE VERY CAREFUL...OOPS! Too late! WE have both of them...STILL!
  17. I like the schedule...but I would like almost anything that did not have us playing at home over Thanksgiving weekend. That has been a "beating" as far as attendance goes...no students (not that that has made too much of a difference recently) and lots of other family travel/activities, etc. I think the band could really have a great time with the Halloween halftime show. I hope they do something that isn't so "jazzy" in nature and go in for more of a "halloween" theme. I believe they did a Star Wars theme at a Halloween game some years ago (when the Star Wars movies were HOT), and it was great!!!! If they do, I might have to stay in my seat longer before I head to the "drunk tank" for a few half-time beers. OK, just kidding about the "drunk tank" thing...but not the beers! Got to have a cold one at half-time. YUMMY!
  18. Cry Babies! Put 'em in tutus and let 'em dance.
  19. Pelosi is simply an IDIOT! It would be hard for any sane person to dispute that line of thought regarding the lady. I think she has lost all sense of reality. Anyone else catch her comments recently about how illegal aliens were heroes? She is so far "off the charts" that you just expect her to say something completely stupid each and every time she opens her mouth. I cannot immagine how she keeps getting elected. Even if you are a liberal democrat you simply have to be embarrased by this lady.
  20. This is very good news indeed...and, me, I will be in Pensacola, Florida at our son'r "graduation" from Naval Flight Surgey School. Mom gets to pin his wings on and all that. Think I had a prayer of saying, "but, honey, it's the spring game weekend and on top of that they are holding a tailgate party to talk about the new stadium"!!!!! Only if I wanted to sleep on the couch for the rest of my natural life...OK, so I will be as proud as Mom, but, could someone send me text messages about the day/game, etc. while I am gone???? But, I will be back for the more important game a week later...The GMG.Com bowl, of course! GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  21. Interesting. Once again, opinions are "all over the place"...but, good to see a guy who knows what it's like to actually coach and grade out players comment.
  22. CBL...just for you...it's always nice...to have you...repeat the same old line... I know you really do...love my posts...and the conservative...position! ... ... ... ... Enjoy!
  23. Pretty soon the NFL will be playing with bows in their hair along with shorts and T-shirts! Let's not touch that QB and forget about any "rough stuff"...don't touch me near the head as you might just mess up my hair!!!! BooHoo!! I think it's way start toward a co-ed league. Why not...it will be touch football in the NFL soon!
  24. Good luck Calvin...good guy!
