Self-Inflicted. Too bad, but no one to blame but himself. The guy had/has talent...the Ticket is not the same without him, but what seems to be doing him in is the same stuff that has "done in" lots of celebs and athletes...and lots of just normal folks out in the "real world" too. But, the blame lies squarley on the shoulders of the individual. I hope he can find some way to "right his ship". Has a great radio talent...I hope it does not get wasted!

You are kidding, of course, right? The Lamar Hunt folks...now Clark Hunt, are one of the classiest families in all professional sports. Lamar Hunt should have won the coin toss with the Cowboys so the Texans could have stayed in Dallas and the Cowboys move if you are looking for classy ownership. BTW, Hicks does own an English Prenmier League team as well as the Rangers (Liverpool I do believe). SilverEagle...just because you own something does not mean you should go around and act like an idiot...especially if what you own is really more of a "public" enterprise than a "private" one. If he wants to run around and act like a clown in the office of some broadband company he owns, so be it...but he IS representing the City of Dallas when he is in public with the Mavericks. ACT LIKE IT! Run the team anyway you want, sure, you own it, but at least act like an adult in public when you are with the team! Good grief!

Well, you obviously know little to nothing about the current military health system. Check out how dependents are handled today...then tell us all how great it is...and, buy the way...military health care is something I have a good bit of interest in these days...I have a married nephew serving his third (THIRD) overseas tour at the moment (2 in Iraq and this one in Afghanistan). Ask him how his wife and two little girls are handled in the military system today...AND, my son and daughter-in-law are both Navy Doctors currently. So, GreenBat.....don't know about you, but I am fairly well "up" on the current state of the military health care system. Oh, but, just another typical response from GreenBat.

It's the Rangers...it's baseball...come on! OK, I admit to (proudly in fact) that I am Mr. Positive when it comes to the Mean Green...why not? BUT...please do show me where I have ever been so "positive" as the predict a 12-0 season for the Mean Green????? In this case, with it being the Rangers...the sun will definitely set. The bats will stay hot (those guys can hit), but the arms will fall off and the wheels will come off this little "experiment" with winning by the Rangers....just too much history says it will happen. Besides when July comes around everyone will be so bored to tears with the 31/2 to 4 hour games that end 1-0 that they won't be paying attention any longer. The foootball teams will be a pre-season camps and the pre-season games will draw more fans than the Rangers will in July (on a game to game basis). Now, the "other side of the news"...How about Them Rangers????? WOW...Hamilton comes off the DL and BAM...off he goes and Davis got it started...Davis is looking better than even expected and Hamilton is well...Hamilton. And, Elvis is actually getting the job done like the GM expected when the move with Young to 3rd took place to make room for the kid. He is definitely fun to watch...doing a bit of hitting too. Nice. Young, well, still an all-star and looking OK at third too. BUT, surprise of all surprises...there has actually been seen in the Rangers a bit of pitching! THAT, all you baseball fans, should make for some warm fuzzies for certain. BIG QUESTION...can Millwood, et al hold up for the long run? Yes, we'll see...but, for now...those Texas Rangers are #1 and actually looking like it. Would it be great to see the Rangers in the playoffs this year...ABSOLUTELY, but, like I said...it is a WAY TOO LONG season and it is now mid-May. But, there just might be enough lipstick to make these pigs look good well into the summer. Hold on to your hearts...might happen. Now, wake me up when there is something happening...it's baseball season and it's great for napping during those long stretches of nothingness during a baseball game. Wake me up when Hamilton comes up!

Ok, Mean Green fans, just a question. Which Dallas Sports owner is really the biggest embarrassment to his sport and to the DFW Metroplex...Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban? I would have to go with mark Cuban after this mess this week with the Denver folks...K Mart and mother, etc. What an idiot and a spoiled brat Cuban seems to be in certain situations. The guy is a billionaire (or close to it) and the owner of the team. Can he not act half-way grown up? Perhaps dress like he doesn't buy his clothes at the thrift store, get away from the team bench, stop acting like a teenager on that blog and keep the mouth shut once in awhile????? The guy is a train wreck and a real embarrassment. So, here we have Dallas with it's three major pro sports owners being Jones, Cuban and Hicks....is that some sort of record for "interesting" and embarrassing ownership or what? Yes, I know there are "other" owners out there with their own issues...say Davis and Steinbruner (sp???) to name just two...but, come on Dallas...what's up with the team owners in the area??? GROW UP a bit! Mark Cuban....you have got to be kidding!

This year's induction ceremony will be July 31 to Aug. 2nd. and will include the inductions of Joy Fawcett and Jeff Agoos (a Richardson, Texas native I do believe) into the HOF. SUMG...I can get you tickets for the ceremony...I know you really do what to be there for the action. Because you know ACTION and SOCCER are a perfect match.

You simply cannot miss the Pete Rose exhibit! Best in the HOF...well that and the Shoeless Joe Jackson memorial. Be careful not to get in the way of the construction going on for the Mark McGuire and Roger Clemens exhibit proclaiming the benefits of science to baseball. Great stuff!

Too bad the playing field will be skewed so much by Obamacare and the government that the private companies wil not have the chance to compete on a level playing field. When we actually get to see and READ the details of the Obama plan most (with any sense at all) will see it for what it is...another power grab by this administration. The Obama Administration cares absolutely ZERO about the quality of anyone's health care plan, they just want the control and the power. It is all about control and power with these guys...just like most socialists!

Miss California has been the victum of some widly PC folks. Glad "the Donald" finally made a good decision...however, I actually had no clue who ran this pagent nor would I have known anything about Miss California had she not happen to mention how she actually felt about gay marriage. I guess speech is "free" as long as you say it in the PC way. Who cares about the photos...really has nothing to do with anything except how they got released in the first place. There are lessons ther for many folks....about the photos, I mean.

All things considered, not a bad write-up of a program that should look and play much better this year than in the two previous seasons. I would say that the mentioned "4 wins" would be a nice improvement, and it seems very possible to me. Anyway, given the story the last couple of years if you didn't have any "skin in the game" and were not that close to the UNT program, an OK write-up. I think he mentions the same keys that everyone will and he points to the challenges we all know exist. So, OK...let's tape it up and get things started. I am darn sure ready for some college football!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!

And, right there is one of the "cahllenges" I have with the Ticket! Way too much, way too much non-sports talk on a susposedly all-sports station. Man, that crud can get really boring...I have to change stations often on the way too and from work (drive time by the way) because they want to talk politics or music, etc. What? Where did the sports go. I am tuning in to their competition more and more due to the lack of sports talk when I can listen...too bad, I used to think they were #1...not any longer...I don't have a #1 in the local market yet, but it sure isn't the Ticket any longer for me. Too bad, they were once a GREAT all-sports station. That's long gone, however...

Don't get all "fired up" Ranger fans...this is a long...WAY TOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG...baseball season. Your Rangers have not shown to be able to win for long stretches...enjoy it while you can and we can certaily hope the wins continue. And, remember, football season is not that far off, so the pain of what is MLB will be an after thought soon enough. And, OK, it looks like FC Dallas is already a "goner" for the year...man, they hired that college coach and look what happened. When will people stop letting coaches move up like that without experience?????

Saw it this weekend while the bride was out of town...she is not a big Star Trek fan...so, I got to enjoy it and not worry about her liking it or not...GREAT MOVIE...if you are a fan of Star Trek. Thought the characters were great...Kirk and Spock were perfect...good to see a young Scotty, etc. It really was fun...anyway...a MUST SEE...if you like Star Trek.

Your friend and his family will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. In times like these one is belessed to have such a friend as you have been, Rick. Your friend and his family need you and your support now more than ever and they KNOW you will be there for them. I am 100% certain that gives them all a great deal of comfort. God bless your friend and his family...I will be keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.
