  1. 2013 perhaps?
  2. ?????????????? What am I missing here?
  3. WOW! I had no idea that he had cancer. What a great college player he was...if you had the chance to watch him play, you had the opportunity to watch "greatness" play. I recall wishing the Cowboys (OSU) could find some way to stop the guy! Too bad. I will have to look up a couple of theose albums and see what he was about after basketball. Go with God!
  4. What networks have you been watching? It's not so blatant as to "call her out" BECAUSE of her religious beliefs...it's the inference that she is anti-guy and anti-gay rights that smacks of too much PC-ness from the major networks. These folks are too smart and too clever to be THAT blatant about their bias. The real point here being that this would be absolutely no issue at all for the media to play up if she had just said how in favor she was of gay marriage. This whole thing started with her simply expressing her personal beliefs and giving an honest answer to a set-up question.
  5. Fantastic photos....makes one stop to pause and think about all the advances mankind has made in a positive direction. Too often all one reads or hears is about how mankind is messing things up. AWESOME is an understatement!
  6. Now that's funny! You get 100 stars for that one! If only Green Guy Bass had a sense of humor.
  7. Looks like another good move for the ladies....BB at UNT is looking better and better. It is good to see UNT improving the quality of its teams (both) and the coaching staffs. Good move all the way around. Looks like the ladies could be much improved next season and should be a bunch of fun to watch play. GO MEAN GREEN!
  8. I saw that one in person....GO MEAN GREEN!
  9. I'd go for another Pohl any day! May God bless and keep Dr. Pohl.
  10. There are lots of things about me that would surprise lots of folks on this board who only THINK they know me or what I believe. That's the fun of the board. Mystery, my friends, mystery......
  11. Interesting how the Prez reacts when she doesn't get her way and someone has the nerve to question her! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. She is showing her temper here to the BOR that she has been displaying around campus for some time. But, on campus...she always gets her way! Sort of sounds like that "school yard bully" thing your mother used to tell you about. I am hopeful that her comment was in jest and that the BOR took it that way as UNT does need a strong Prez right now, and love her or hate her, Dr. B is a "strong president" and she seems to get athletics. Besides, with such a weak Lee Jackson around, UNT needs a strong leader. We'll see where this one plays out. But, one must remember, it is usually not in one's best interest to throw down the gauntlet to your bosses unless you are prepared to accept the "or else" you offer!
  12. You go girl! Nice to see a young person with something to lose stand up for her beliefs on a very PC issue. Interesting how the media and the hollywood elite, etc. are treating her. And, it's always the conservatives who are said to be intolerant...facts are, it's the liberals you always see reflecting their intolerance when it comes to many of the issues facing this nation today. Seems that Miss California is taking a bunch of heat for simply exercising her right to hold her own beliefs. You think any of this would be playing out in the media if she had said that she favored guy marriage? Do you think the "conservatives" would be blasting her? Amazing how things really work sometimes, isn't it?
  13. And, this is a surprise to anyone, how????? ACORN is now and always has been a political "shake down" group...better organized and funded than the mafia, all the while using many of the same tatctics to force its will (and that of the politicians it not so legally finds a way to funnel $$$$$ to on a consistent basis. It will stop when the FBI finally brings RICO charges against it as a criiminal organization...which is what it is in fact! Why no RICO charges? Guess which party supports ACORN and shields it from the legal process???? Wow...what a surprise.
  14. Very good editorial in the Wall Street Journal this morning about this issue. I will quote from a passasge near the end...it matter not which side of the isle you are on in reviewing this issue...the editorial makes some very valid points for all politicians to remember...I quote: "Whatever one's politics may be, there has to be some recognition that Washington - the U.S. governement - simply can't function if it is endlessly entangled in the exquisitely argued, one might say absurd, blame-games that she and some Democrats are running against former Bush officials, and that now threaten the political standing of the Speaker herself". "Barack Obama won the election and as President he now has a governemnt to run. With that responsibility comes the necessity to make difficult decisions, as those he has made on prisioner photos and military tribunals attest. If he is to succeed, he needs a capital city of responsible partners, not a running circus with the Speaker of the House at the center, blamming everyone else as she flees from any responsibility for what she heard or did". Pretty spot on, isn't it? Republican or democrat, you have to stop and take notice. I would encourage everyone to get this and read it. I have only quoted a very small portion of the end of the editorial. The whole editorial is worth your time to read.
  15. ONE MORE TIME...Bush is not the president any longer! Good grief, will these liberal folks ever get that????? It's like a small child saying "well he did it too" all the time as if that was justification for something done wrong! Grow up, read the papers and you will find out that Bush is no longer president. Time to have "your guy" step up and take a little responsibility for the mess he is making out of just about everything he and his administration touches.
  16. One of my all-time favorite Beatles hits! I have the album...classic!
  17. Yep, I agree...i thought several times while posting about soccer how long it would take before someone noticed that the whole thread had become on on soccer....AND, congrats to the Rangers for another ninth inning miracle finish...nice job!
  18. Finally, a bit of responsibility for one's actions where the responsibility actually lies. Folks, it isn't rocket science. If the card company you have is giving you a bad deal...stop using the darn thing. And, if you have credit problems with cards, check out Dave Ramsey or any number of countless other folks who can "help" you get off the credit drugs you are taking and paying for every day! Follow me on this: 1) take out a pair of scissors; 2) take credit card out of pocket; 3) cut into very small pieces; 4) throw pieces in trash. 5) pay off any outstanding balance as quickly as possible. End of problem! Then learn to use a credit card responsibility. They are great financial tools and I would find it personally hard to live without one. Note I said ONE! Use it and then pay the balance in full at the end of each card cycle. How hard is that to figure out. Result...you pay ZERO interest to the credit card company. And, before you tell me how righteous I am and that it isn't easy, believe me, I have been on the other side of this issue and I know you can get off the narcotic of spending more than you have by using a credit card. Is it always easy, heck no, but like most things that are very worthwhile, it can be done. You just have to want to do it...and quit making excuses why you can't. If it takes "beans and rice and beans and rice" for an extended period of time, so be it. BUT, make sure you don't cut out the Mean Green season tickets. That WOULD be dumb.
  19. Nothing new there...have you not been watching tennis in the last few years???? WOW and DOUBLE WOW when it comes to hot Russian ladies! And, my bride and I were in Estonia (former Soviet Republic in the Baltics) this last summer, and I can verify from first hand experience (OK, come on now, I mean by looking only!!!!) that there are plenty...plenty of hot Russsian ladies out there! Momma Mia, yes, there are!!!!!!
  20. Thanks "oldguystudent". Do those numbers reflect the World Cup qualifying games or just the tournament itself? I would assume just the tournament and you can see the effect the tournament has on scoring. ScreamingEagle66...interesting thought, but it would definitely not increase interest. To "Amercianize" a sport just so you can manufacture offense is something the NFL has done for years. It is not the way to do things with the international game where fans appreciate a sport for all it is not just the number of goals that will be scored. And, to the point of the defense always having an advantage...well, in some respects, but when did you ever see all opoposing players in front of the ball defending? That woukld spell disaster in a very...VERY...short time and would definitly raise the goals per game count. Nor, do you see a team often push everyone up to go on offense...same story would occur...brrakaway and a score quickly for the opponent. The "big" change I can recall (attempt to speed up play not to score more goals) was when they eliminated the ability of the goalkeeper to use his hands in the box when the ball was passed back to him by his own team. That ploy used to drive me nuts too...back to the keeper, pick it up, kick it out, get the ball back, pass back to the goalkeeper, he picks it up...yep, that even bored me to tears. It was a needed and a good change.
  21. Nice...now let's just hope she likes boys...just saying.............
  22. Why? What's he won at Baylor? On the other hand, Griffin at QB will make him look good for a few years and maybe help recruit a few decent players to the program. Having a more competitive Baylor would help the Big XII, and Baylor does look to be on the "upswing" because they have what looks to be a good new young QB. Hmmmmmmmmm...sort of like UNT's new young QB perhaps, but Griffen has had the opportunity to show his skills and abilities on the college level. What Riley can and will do remains to be seen. But, a great young QB with lots of potential sure can't hurt a program and goes a long way in making a coach look good.
  23. That looks like 0-6 to me.
