Outrage you say...why? The Obama Administration did it...don't you see yet? If the Obama Administration does it it has to be OK as opposed to anything...antything...the Bush Administration might have done. Come on...since when did you ever think the liberal folks would want anything approaching equal outrage?????? Oh, ye of dreamland. Maybe he can/will explain this action from the new White House office of ABC.

OK, close your eyes (after you read this of course) and think back to the good old days of the Soviet Union and the Cold War. Moscow broadcasts the evening news from the Kremlin. Anyone think that would be unbiased broadcasting and not just a bit of propaganda????? If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...well, just saying.........

He Should Have Waterboarded The Fly
KRAM1 replied to SUMG's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I am able to do it pretty often when the need arises...just ask my bride...she thinks it is "gross". Me, I just don't like flies! It's not that hard at all...you just saw how easy it was...If Obama can do it....... -
Would love to see her end up at UNT, but that "smaller" thing might be a stumbling block for her. UNT is not that small these days in case folks haven't noticed. But, being from Justin NW might help. Would love to see her pitching for the Mean Green.

I care. The Rutgers joke wasn't about all women either...it was aimed at the women's basketball team as I recall. You wouldn't understand the outrage since Letterman was the "offender" in this case. A "nice" liberal minded gentleman. let the comment be made about one of Obama's kids by a conservative talk show host and let's see you say "I don't understand the outrage" and "I don't think anyone really cares". But, like I said, for me...over...done...apology accepted by Gov. Palin. Move on. Bigger fish to fry...

However, this is a policy issue. Seems to me that both sides of the issue should be good enough for ABC to air. Would folks not want to see other ideas? One can certainly make up one's own mind on which side of the issue they sit/stand, but ABC seems to be in Obama's hip pocket on this one. It should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone, but seems to smack of bias on ABC's part. GreenBat, you are correct. You can obviously not watch ABC. But, in this case, since the healthcare debate is a "biggie" in terms of how and where this nation is going, one might want/need to tune in for this airing. If FOX puts it on and allows for the "other" side of the issue, I will certainly watch FOX, but if the only choice I have for this event is ABC...well, can't really choose to "not watch". When you have no options "choice" is tough to find!

Time to move on. However, the lack of any response from the "women's movement" has me a bit puzzled. I guess it's OK to blast conservative women. Seems I recall a real "cry" from these folks when the Rutgers basketball ladies were made the butt of a stupid remark by another "personality". Palin has accepted the apology and Letterman has done what he was obviously told to do...Move on...bigger fish to fry.

2009 Bayou Bowl On Right Now (played June 13, 2009)
KRAM1 replied to gangrene's topic in Mean Green Football
CORRECT...hope so. I have a feeling that the MEAN GREEN NATION will be plenty glad Riley is playing QB at UNT. -
Just when did the government say it was trying to create a level playing field with all its "social and economic engineering"? I think we left "level playing field" out of the equation some time ago. That just seems to go with the PC world we seem to be living in these days...so be it. Keep smiling and keep being positive...footbasll season is right around the corner and we can get back to the really important stuff we should be diascussing here on GMG.COM.

Nice to see...PC is a great ambassodor for UNT. I hope he continues to do well and that he gets lots of TV time...I love hearing "from UNT" on TV...and seeing UNT alums doing well. GO PC...GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Travis....you are soooooo bad...get your mind out of the gutter!

But, it's OK...he probably voted for our current president here in Texas...you know...no voter ID bill or anything. While I hate that this happend, I am so very glad no one was killed. More often than not it seems some innocent bystander or motorist gets killed in this type of "accident". Of course, this was NO ACCIDENT. Both "racing" drivers knew full well what they were doing and they were doing it ""on purpose". That made the decision to race on a public street. This was certainly no accident. They should thank their lucky stars that you and your team was ready, willing and able to help them when their "decision" turned so tragic.

Your 1st Place Texas Rangers
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
But, I do like hot dogs...in fact I am planning on creating a Jimmy Carter Dog this evening for dinner....a grilled hot dog, toasted bun with peanut butter (yes, you heard that...peanut butter) and some chopped Georgia onions. Yep, just wanted to show all my "liberal friends" here on GMG.Com that I would name a "taste delight" after a democrat. I'll tell you tomorrow how it worked out. Really, I'm not kidding...my wife, of course, thinks I am nuts when it comes to hot dogs...hey, how did she find out???? -
Your 1st Place Texas Rangers
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
OK, so after the 13 game span against teams with winning records the Rangers went 5-7 (1 was postponed) and still lead the division by 2.5 games over the Angels. Are you "baseball guys" happy with 5-7 over the span? Short of what they did against the Dodgers...not much...they seemsed to do pretty darn well. So, what's your take? -

Another Reason To Add Baseball
KRAM1 replied to Quoner's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
WOW! Now, that ranks up there as the #1 rant of all times. I wonder how much "fun" Jimmy had playing baseball with a Dad like this one? Maybe that's why he stayed at U of H...who knows. Seems the kid could pitch. I would think plenty of schools would have been happy to have him. Why go to U of H in the first place??? UGH! And, after not being able to resist knocking soccer again...GreenBat actually says that UNT should bring men's Soccer back. Be still my heart. -

And, you can thank our one and only "drex" for the great design work. Come to the Mixer on July 9th and you can be one of the first to own this "soon to be" classis "TANK ARMY" T-Shirt!!!! Proceeds go to the Denton Chapter's UNT Scholarship fund. So, when you buy a Tank Army shirt you are not only getting a "classic" UNT T-shirt but helping students attend UNT. Think about that...nice deal, huh? See you at the Mixer on the 9th...GREAT JOB DREX! GO MEAN GREEN!

Interesting Ideas For Us Pro Teams
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
This is not about whether you like soccer or not...believe me no one cares if you do or not...it is susposed to be about whether the US professional sports landscape could learn anything from the success another sport has had on a world-wide basis. If it is such a bad deal, I wonder why so many American Owners are rushing tobuy up the top soccer clubs in England and several have made inquiries into clubs in other countries as well? Anyway...this was not intended to be another string of "I love vs I hate soccer" rants, but looks like some folks just can't seem to help them selves. Must be a slow Friday at work. If anyone would actually like to read the article and offer any thoughtful opinios I would be interested in hearing what you have to say...please note that I did not offer an opinion or value statement one way or the other in the hopes of seeing some real discussion. But, these threads have a way of "going where no man has gone before" at times. I guess I can thank SUMG for de-railing it before it ever got started. Thanks, buddy! -
drex, you are so right...this is an event sponsored by the Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association, but all alums and friends of UNT and the Mean Green are more than welcome...and encouraged...to attend. Even those alums who have moved to far off Garland. I trust you and your lovely bride, perhaps, will be in attendance?
