Rangers Hitting Coach
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
The Rangers are sitting home because they have no pitching...not because they can't hit. The Rangers will get another hitting coach and the "hitters" will say the same things about him....PITCHING...PITCHING....yes, it was better this year, but still not nearly good enough from top to bottom in the starting rotation. -
Agreed...BAD Call...should not have been made...BUT, the D had plenty of chances after that to hold on a make a stop. Didn't do it...game lost. If you are playing an away game, you had better factor in some "home cooking" by the refs...our team needs to smarten up a bit and understand how it will play out more often than not during away games....Oh, well...it was Still a stupid call by the ref! Good Grief. GO MEAN GREEN.

So, you expect me to let this slip???? Baseball is so overrated as a major pro sport these days. Anyone check the DFW ratings once the Rangers were out of it? Putrid! Now that the Cards have been swept along with Boston they might as well close up shop for the year. Major League baseball better do something for the Rangers quick or MLB will lose one of the biggest TV markets in the country...if it hasn't been lost already. Just saying. Soccer...now that's exciting...anyone check out the USA's win over Honduras in World Cup qualifying this Saturday? A 3-2 comeback win by the US to seal a World Cup berth in South Africa. See, soccer really has a "World Series", not like that baseball thing where only one country is playing in its "World Series"...what a joke! There...just had to chime in to support my "footy"!

Any "activities" planned around the first practice? If not...what a shame and what a missed opportunity to get some mo building for the season. I'll wait...maybe something will be announced soon, right?

WOW...while I admit to not reading the entire thread...too long to read every post...I do find it hard to believe that some call for Dodge to be fired while others want Riley benched. I didn't think Riley was on the field when ULL marched down for the winning score. here we have a red shirt freshman who some want to play like Bradford and Tebow. A bit unrealistic in my opinion. And, fire Dodge???? I thought what was wanted was improvement (sure along with a few more wins too)...can some not see improvement? Interesting....If one could "coach" away stupid mistakes you could be "Coach of the Year" forever...even those things happen with the Cowboys...did you see the game Sunday against KC???? And, how about New Eng. losing to Denver...want to fire Belichick? (is that how you spell his name?). OK, I know, winning records make up for a lot and Dodge has yet to get his D1 winning record going, but the reality is...for those who can see it...much progress has been made...you can discount the "young team" stuff all you want, but experience also will help this team. And, experience is being game with every game. See you at homecoming. GO MEAN GREEN!

Some good points in this thread with out too much just plain "I hate Dodge" stuff or "his ass better be out of here" stuff. That, in itself, is an improvement...I believe created due to the improved play by the Mean Green so far this season. Before the season started many were wanting to see improvement. If you can't see improvement in this team over the last couple of years you simply are not looking. The ULL should have been in the win catagory, and the reason it is not can be an excellent "coach-able" for the staff. Riley is a red shirt freshman and will continue to make red shirt freshman mistakes, but there in no argument that the kid has talent and that he seems to have the team behind him. The team came back to lead late ... late...in the 4th qtr and without a pretty "not so smart" play and a pretty bad call the Mean Green walk away with the "W". Close, so very close...and while that "close" stuff only counts in washers and hand grenades, it shows the progress being made on the field and by the coaching staff. OK, maybe UNT will not go 6-6..OK, I predicted 5-7 and will stay with that. Man, this loss hurt....but, "upon further review", I see the progress I had been looking forward to seeing. I( sense a win for homecoming, and I can't wait to be there this Saturday for the win...OK, and for the tailgating too. GO MEAN GREEN!

Dunbar Named Offensive Player Of The Week
KRAM1 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
UNT has some super running backs, and they will only get better. This is a very well deserved honor for both Lance and the team. Nice job...GO MEAN GREEN! A very bright spot after such a tough loss to take. But, man, what a much improved team we are seeing this season...GO MEAN GREEN! -
Rick...Happy birthday to a GREAT member of the Mean Green Nation. UNT needs more loyal fans like you. Have a great day...it is your day...you own it!

JayDub...you are so right, in just a few months in office Mr. O has won "peace throughout the whole world". So, when is your flight to North Korea via Iran? Just wondering...since it's so safe and all that. -
Blount Suspension May Be Lifted
KRAM1 replied to UNTflyer's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
And, you want to equate what Plexico did with what this kid did? Also...my guess, the average "Joe" would receive a much harsher sentence than Plexico due to his "special" status as a gifted athlete. Just saying....... -

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!! Man, you have to give credit to the guy's PR firm...they are doing a great job of "kissing up" as BHO does a great job of kissing the backside of every rogue leader and regime he can find. Nobel Peace Prize? Please, please do tell me what he has done?????? They must be singing in the streets in North Korea, Venezuela, Honduras, China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Iran, etc., etc., etc. Amazing...but, then again, it is "Change", so it has to be great, right? Man, I'm glad it's Friday so I can focus on college football over the weekend. Maybe that will distract all the media "darlings" from gushing over Mr. O's latest grand achievement...while, of course, he goes about "saving" so many US jobs, reforming health care, deciding whether or not to pull the rug out from under the military efforts in Afghanistan, socializing more US industries, paying off his Union backers with more restrictive tariffs, sitting idle while the dollar sinks ever lower and lower due to his ever increasing federal debt and deficit, etc., etc. I'm just giddy all over with all this "change" taking place. Congrats on that Peace Prize thing......... Let me just add....GO MEAN GREEN! PS...it's Friday morning...thought it was time to wake up folks here on GMG.com a bit... -
I hope this changes soon. I would like to see one have to buy tickets weeks in advance if they want to secure anything but end-zone seating for UNT games! I am glad folks who have not been to a game in awhile can get decent seats at the last minute right now as UNT needs all the fans in the seats it can get, but I look forward to the day when a ticket to a UNT game will not be so easy to obtain "at the last moment". GO MEAN GREEN...see you at homecoming and don't forget to come by the Alumni Assoc. tailgate area and purchase a TANK ARMY T-Shirt in support of the team and scholarship funds for UNT students.
-
See note about mailing in my previous post. Unfortunately, we have no way at this time to sell on-line...sorry, but like a previous post...if I know you are coming I'll meet you at 2am...OK, really...mail might be easier if you can't pick them up at a home game. GO MEAN GREEN!
-
We will have them available before every home game up to and including the Army game...and if you can't get to a game and would like a shirt or two or three...message me and I'll mail them to you....but, plaese, if you are going to be at the game...buy there...we need the help. many tanks to all. GO MEAN GREEN!

many thanks...I'll see you at the Alumni tailgate area at homecoming...just look for the big semi trailer! GO MEAN GREEN! Thanks to Flyer for posting the design.

What? It's Thursday And No Score Prediction Thread?

24-17 for the MEAN GREEN. The Mean Green get back on the winning trail this week. GO MEAN GREEN! -
Folks, I know I have mentioned this before, but it is time to give it another "shout". The Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association is selling "TANK ARMY" T-shirts to help raise funds for UNT scholarships. We need your help and consideration. Please think about getting a shirt or two at the next home game. Tank Army T-shirts will be for sale at the ALUMNI Tailgate "tent" before the game against Florida Atlantic on Oct 17th. Shirts are $15.00 each or two for $25.00. ALL proceeds go to help fund scholarships for UNT students. You know...whether yo want a T-shirt or not you might consider buying one to support our scholarship efforts. Each year we all get hit up for donations for "good causes", and sometimes we just do it because it is the right thing to do. Just this week I bought $15.00 worth of Cookie Dough from the neighbor kids for their elementary school fundraiser. Now, I really don't need or want cookie dough, but they asked and it's a good cause...so I wrote the check. With the T-shirts you get a great shirt, you get to support both the football team against Army, you get to show your UNT pride, you help raise scholarship dollars for needy and worthy UNT students...and you don't have to worry about the calorie count!!!!! You know, most of us do not eat T-Shirts like we would the cookies made from the cookie dough I bought! I thank those who have already purchased a shirt, and I ask other GMG.com and Mean Green nation members to give it some thought. We need your help. If you would like to pre-order you can "PM" (private message" me here on GMG.com and I'll have your shirt/s set aside for you before the game on the 17th. Cash or checks accepted (payable to UNT Alumni Assoc. - Denton Chapter). GO MEAN GREEN! PLEASE consider supporting our scholarship efforts! I KNOW...shameless self-promotion...BUT, it is for a good cause and it IS football related, right?

I think they had this type of activity in mind when they created the sexual harassment laws, didn't they? Something about using your position (I mean job category here...don't go nuts on me with the comments) in the workplace to curry sexual favors, etc. Letterman is the creep he said he was....Where is his Top 10: How You Know Dave Letterman is a Sexual Predator list????? -
Stupid is as stupid does...CNN...often the king of stupid. Just another example of how CNN is such a cheerleader for the Obama Administration. I have a good friend who is very liberal...and was so very excited to vote for Obama...yes, I do have some liberal friends....he told me the other day that he is really beginning to wonder about the guy and thinks he may have "wasted" his vote. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...and, stop the presses...he is even watching Fox much more than he used to because of some of the "stuff" CNN and "the gang of O's Administration kissers" have been reporting and how slanted he thinks it is becoming. Gee, imagine that...it was hard for me to hold off on the "I told you so" line, but I was smiling too broadly at the moment (it was a phone call and he couldn't see my smile...too bad). If this guy is any indication...the mid-term elections can't get here soon enough for me! But...and more importantly...GO MEAN GREEN!
