Come on folks...can we pull this off????? Yes, but we need "all hands on deck". Who can help get the word out and how can we do that? I'll contact the Mean Green Club to see if they can get an email out and I'll ask the Alumni Assoc. to get an email out if you think that would help...but, how do we get the word to student tailgaters and others who may not be on GMG.com? This could be great fun and we could start a tradition here for the home game closet to Halloween or just do it when a game falls on Halloween, but to try to do it without support and bunches of folks participating would be pretty pathetic.....so, can we get behind this thing and pull it off this late... Can GMG.com folks get it done? I say yes, so what about you? Any Tailgaters out there willing to participate?????????

How about this for Saturday...we set up TRICK OR TREAT TAILGATING. Every tailgate area have candy/treats on hand to give out to the "wee" Mean Green fans attending the game??? Some may not get to do their regular Trick or Treating because they (or their parents) are at the game, and with the move back to a 3PM start it makes it harder to get home and trick or treat after the game. I saw on the Oklahoma State forum that they are setting up for Trick or Treat Tailgating for their game with Texas this Saturday with a 7PM kick-off. Sounds like a great idea. The "wee" one's can come dressed in their Halloween costumes and go from tailgate area to tailgate area and collect treats! Can we get this on???? How do we get the word to the student groups who tailgate and to everyone else who may not be on GOG.Com? What do you think? Can we pull this off and help the young Mean Green fans and their parents who might be deciding to stay home due to Halloween????????

Oh, man...if I keep predicting wins, I have to be right sooner or later! I am not alone in my "prediction" and betting skills, however, as they build towers to that lack of skill in Las vegas! I will be right this week, Danno, as the MEAN GREEN WIN!!!! Book it.........Bookie!

Can Anyone Explain This From The Drc?
KRAM1 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Are you talking about Bill Patterson here? I'll have a thing or two to say about this if you are...Bill a graduate of Oklahoma State University. How dare he wear UT colors????? How dare he......but, of course I recall seeing UT colors on a certain posters Avatar too. Oh, well..... -
Emmitt, I'm beginning to think your Avatar is your normal expression.

As I mentioned in an earlier post...DONE DEAL! Congratulations to all who worked so hard and for so long to bring this to reality. Thanks to the students who had the foresight to vote in favor of the stadium. This is a great day for the Mean Green Nation! Got to give a big THANK YOU TO RV too...he had the vision and the fortitude to see it through. We have had many AD's who talked a good fight, but didn't "walk the walk". RV said he would do all he could to make it happen and he did...and he is still working to make it a great stadium for the fans of the MEAN GREEN. Thanks to all. GO MEAN GREEN! See you at the W KY game Saturday.

That's the spirit...stick your head in the sand a little further. A defeatist attitude seldom gets the job done. One can either do the French thing and just surrender or they can continue to work to make a positive difference. As a subscriber to the DRC I will definitely give them a call. May or may not help...but I know one thing for sure. If I don't call it's 100% for sure no one will know the photo selection is a concern to me as a DRC subscriber. If the "good people" who support UNT do nothing, the "naysayers" will have their way. To NT80...not "kicking sand in your face" here as I am sure you have tried many times to bring this sort of stuff to the "powers that be" attention with no result. I would simply ask that you keep trying. If you give up to frustration, the "bad guys" win. It's a long race, I hope you'll stay in it. GO MEAN GREEN! -
With North Texas' Tobe Nwigwe Gone For Season, Team In Need Of Hea
KRAM1 replied to mgsteve's topic in Mean Green Football
I like it. Too bad certain folks on this board won't rad it...and if they do will disregard everything said and continue doing their best to hurt the program. All the while thinking...not me! Interesting note about those music school grads, huh? Don't know that I agree with that statement...I think it could be better said about the majority of UNT grads. The percentage of grads who give back to their school is pitiful at best. But, the percentage who like to complain, well............ GO MEAN GREEN! -
Please see my post and others under the topic "Unbelievable" started by UNT90....A GMG.Com "world championship" basketball game has been proposed...I am OK to try to get it together as the admin...see the post...let me know if you are interested in playing/coaching/refereeing/helping with the admin stuff. Yes, it's open to the ladies of GMG.com too...we'll make it a co-ed team event...more fun that way when the ladies smoke the guys who think they are so very "jordan-esk". If we have enough players from both sexes we can have a men's women's co-ed event...who knows...endless possibilities, but it is up to the GMG.com folks to commit or not. Post here or on my PM site and I'll start getting a list together and let everyone know.... If you are Out of town and have a date or two in mind..let me know as it is "harder" for you to get here than those in the DFW area. Are we on? Can we do this? Yes, we can....OK, we'll see if we can... GO MEAN GREEN!

Unbelievable
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yes, I think we can get this on IF...and it's a BIG IF...we get enough folks to actually and firmly commit to playing/coaching and helping. I think I can help us land a place to play...should be no problem...I can get the shirts designed and printed and front the $$$ to pay for them until folks "pay up" for their shirts....We can definitely find a ref or two from the GMG crowd I am certain... SO...are we actually going to try to do this or is it just more "big talk" from a bunch of folks who like to suggest stuff but never follow through????? Just asking...who really wants to play, coach, ref and/or help with the admin stuff. I'm in and I have had a PM from UNT90 who is a go....let's start getting this together...no reason to wait until after the men's/women's season...why? It's BB season...let's play during the season..... My PM board is open...either post on the thread or PM me and I'll compile a list of players/coaches/refs/helpers...and let everyone know.... BALL IS IN YOUR COURT! GO MEAN GREEN! -
While that might help the "beauty quotient" in the stands, I don't think you'll have to resort to that...UNT wins this Saturday. Book it Danno!

Wow , Just Wow
KRAM1 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
It's a result of the entitlement mindset that has developed here in the US. God bless and keep those poor kids. You want to get me "negative"...this is the way! Jail time is way too good for this idiot. -
Unbelievable
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I can't play a lick...I still hold the Stillwater, OK men's league record for having played (begrudgedly, I might add after volunteering to simply coach/manage the team) two full seasons in the league without scoring one...not one...point! I did coach my son's 5th and 6th grade basketball teams to one undefeated and one 1-loss season in two years...excellent recruiting skills.....BUT, I hereby volunteer to help in any manner needed to get this game on here in Denton. Like the GMG.Com football bowl, there should be a GMG.com basketball "world" championship. I'm in to help out...let's get it on!!!!! -
With All The Frustration, Anger, Hate, And Disappointment
KRAM1 replied to KingDL1's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm going with 3PM. They changed the Fla Atlantic kick-off from an announced 6Pm to &PM to accommodate SBC TV...I think the same is happening with this game...but be there by 1PM and you have nothing to worry about one way or the other! -
It's time to put this thread to bed. Come on folks. I really think everyone here knows what everyone else thinks about this issue. It's getting close to game day. Lighten up and enjoy football Saturday and a win over W Ky. GO MEAN GREEN.

I just got an email notifying me that our basketball season tickets are in the mail. Great news...should be a great season for the men and a darn sight improved one for the women. I am happy I am not one of those who pin their support for UNT on the football team alone and its win/loss record. I would miss out on some great UNT basketball. GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!

Right, and I'm Tasty the Greek! Sorry, Tasty...just couldn't resist...

I'll be there...a bit later than usual as I referee that morning...3 games...but will be working at the Alumni Tailgate area (look for the Big Semi) helping sell TANK ARMY T-shirts to help raise scholarship dollars for UNT students. Do you have your TANK ARMY T-Shirt as yet? No, well, please stop by and pick one or two or three or four up...they make great gifts for Mean Green Nation members too. One for $12 and 2 for $20 (such a deal!). We need your support to make this a successful project...T-Shirts designed by none other than the great drex too! Hope to see everyone Saturday!!!!! GO MEAN GREEN! -
Is This True?
KRAM1 replied to DeepGreen's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
It appears to be true, but I do believe there are some "restrictions" placed on the measure that are not spelled out in this email. In any event...this is plain stupid. Just goes to show how "detached" the folks in DC are to the people they say they represent and what can happen to one's "brain" and common sense after spending a couple of years in DC. -
Interesting Stat About Ou
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yep, that's why he is not considered an OU QB. -
Here's a quote from Jeff Latzke writing for the AP in an article about Sam Bradford leaving OU; "OU has never produced a starting NFL QB". I find that pretty interesting given all the excellent years of football OU has produced. "Never" is a really long time. However, Bradford, if completely healed, may just change that "never" to "has one now". What say you?

I would love to watch the next Tech home game in person...I'll bet the co-eds turn out in "interesting attire" to throw it in Leach's face. Now...take that "throw it in Leach's face" and run with it...Quoner? Tasty? -
World Series
KRAM1 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
You are 100% correct about the greatest country on the planet...but, how, may I ask, does that have anything to do with the point my post? Part of being "great" is not having to tell folks that you are...they just know it! Like all the crap that takes place after a simple tackle in the NFL or a TD....they act like they are the first to every accomplish that wonderful feat. Come on...if you are so great, act like it...act like you have done it before. The truly "great" ones, have no need to tell folks of their "greatness" time and time again...I'll excuse Ali for all that because it was part of his "act"...Ali, actually is "the Greatest"...but that's another thread for another day! -
Football: Return Uncertain For Injured Qb Dodge
KRAM1 replied to mgsteve's topic in Mean Green Football
I say let the head coach and doctors make the decision. It seems the situation is a "no win" from some folks point of view...if you don't play Riley, the kid is just to fragile to play DI ball...if you do play him...sure, play him in a "stats" game...good grief. You folks are too much and pretty funny too! -
Always great to see how you can find something negative to say about every topic. At least you are consistent. Come on, Emmitt, I know you love UNT football and UNT. Could you remember that the thread is about the loss of Tobe to the team? The kid plays with heart and grit and will certainly be missed. It gives another guy a chance to step up and be UNT's next Tobe. Let's see what the "next guy" can do. If you want to knock TD or Riley, start another one of the many similar threads. In the meantime, Tobe...you will be missed. Thanks for all you have done over the years. Thanks for the memories...great job! And, all the best of luck to you. I look forward to seeing you play at the next level! GO MEAN GREEN!
