Dodge Searching For Oc; Various Nt Football News
KRAM1 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
No matter who the Mean Green select as the new OC, half here will be pleased and supportive and the other half of "usual suspects" will be as negative as always. That's a prediction I think I can "take to the bank". -
Can someone lead me to the quote where RV said it was 7 wins next season or Dodge is gone? I have heard rumors from several spots...one yesterday at the barber shop said it was actually 8 wins...some of the folks have assured me that it came directly from RV (and I do not doubt their word at all...not at all) but I would like to see the printed quote from RV or a link to the voice track speech where he is quoted as saying that 7 wins was the magic number. I am not arguing with this "understanding", I just would like to see the statement from the AD. Can anyone help me with that? I know private conversations are very valuable and very enlightening...remember, yesterday I was told that RV told this guy directly that it would take 8 wins....the number seems to be jumping around a great bit these days. Another person, with actual D-1 coaching experience for many many years told me that the number will decrease as we get closer to the situation and the time. Seems he might just know what he's talking about. Me, I don't know at all. I'm just looking for the quote so I can get it set in my own Mean Green brain. Thanks. GO MEAN GREEN!

This was interesting to me. Many have probably already seen this littl;e clip. It's a bit long, but the guy did start up the weather channel and has been around climate and climate study for some time. It was interesting to me...take a look if you want...gives one something to consider and "ponder" between football seasons. http://www.kusi.com/home/78477082.html?video=pop&t=a

There you go again...with facts...shame on you...why cloud the issue with facts? -
And you still use Dude?????

What does it tell you?

"Dude"???? How old are you anyway?

Here's another idea that might just work even better for you.How about setting it up yourself???? No kidding...how about you contacting the establishment where you think would be a great location, getting them to reserve a space and maybe provide some discounted drinks and food, and then contact someone at the Alumni Assoc...like Rob McKinney for one...and see how they can help you with PR, materials, etc., etc.? The Denton Chapter does this stuff on its own. The "main" Alumni Assoc. folks are more than willing to help, but they have their own agenda of events and activities, and they try to look out for the entire association so their hands and date books get a bit crowded. Until I got as involved with the Denton Chapter as I have been the last few years, I had NO IDEA how much stuff the Alumni Assoc. handles for the school and alums with a VERY few staff members. The Denton Chapter does this stuff on a pretty regular basis with very little pre-help. The Alumni folks are VERY helpful once we let them know what we want to do, and we have found them extremely helpful during our events, etc. You could be the "point alum" for events in the area you want, get a couple of other area alums interested in helping a bit and off you go. You would be amazed at what you can do once you decide to take it upon yourself to get something going. I would be more than happy to talk to you about how to get something going and help you out any way I can. If you would like to PM me here and give me some contact info we can talk "off line". Glad to see you are interested...and I assume you are a member of the Alumni Assoc. or interested in becoming a member by your post. GREAT...welcome. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you any way I can. GO MEAN GREEN...GO ALUMNI!!!!

Where are the mods these days? Why do all these non-UNT football threads get started and remain on the Mean Green football thread site? I am not saying they should not be posted or discussed, but I am beginning to wonder about the reading capabilities of a few of our GMG.com folks. Can one not read that this thread is reserved for UNT football matters/topics? Good stuff to discuss, indeed, but can't they be started in another thread more appropriate to the topic?

Good luck to Coach Ford. I will look forward to seeing what develops within the MEan green coaching staff as a result of this move. GO MEAN GREEN!

I have never said I hate baseball...I simply think professional baseball at the MLB level is extremely boring, and that baseball at any level takes way to long to complete a single game. Too much standing around doing nothing, etc. I played baseball (catcher) and it was the only sport I was ever even remotely decent at as a player...made a few all-star teams, but was never really THAT good. Had one scholarship bite...and that was to SMU. Yes, SMU once had a baseball team. Near the time to get really involved in the recruiting process, SMU dropped baseball. So, not too good, but enjoyed playing. Watching is like watching paint dry or close to it for me. Doesn't mean that I don't "lightly" follow MLB and the home town Rangers. If UNT did get a baseball team (should get men's soccer back first...just had to get that in), I'd watch a few games and support the program because it is UNT....not because I loved baseball. GO MEAN GREEN!

Please abandon this whole thread...time to move on.

Why is this on the Mean Green Football thread? Not saying it isn't worthy of discussion, but we do seem to be getting further and further away from "Mean Green Football" in this section...too much TT, McCoy, UT vs Ala, etc. stuff that really has no reason to be in this section. Why not move them where they might better fit? Just asking...

Perhaps we can re-name him "Vlad the fat"...but, if he can remain healthy (and that IS a big question with this guy) he could be a big mid-lineup bat for the Rangers. But, when was the last time the Rangers had any real success in trying to buy their way to a "big bat" in the middle of the line up? At least the guy won't be called the "Ranger killer" any longer. I sure hope he stays healthy...loses a few pounds and helps the Rangers make the playoffs in 2010. Could happen...and perhaps there is indeed a tooth fairy! We can all hope so....

You had a girlfriend?

Until UNT fans stop beating each other up and questioning their "fandom" and questioning their level of support and their methods of support it will continue to be hard for others to see UNT as anything more than a lower tier program. I can only imagine the progress that UNT athletics could make if all who claimed to be UNT fans actually got behind the program in a POSITIVE WAY, actually at least acted like they cared for other UNT fans and stopped seeing THEIR school as anything less than first rate. One can only dream...talk about "divide and conquer"...UNT must be the poster child for that! If you want to beat your opponent in the field of battle, one way to go about it is to "divide and conquer" so as to get them fighting between themselves...seems we have done a pretty good job of this all by ourselves. Oh, well.....perhaps it is simply something to think about.

Double standard is just another name for today's democrat party. Seems I recall another speaker being forced to resign his position for something similar. Why is the same fate not appropriate for this "gentleman"? But, again, what would you expect these days from the "power" party in DC? 2010 elections simply cannot get here fast enough.

Question...is it just me or do you think (as I do) that George really plays better when Eric is in the lineup? Seems they really do complement each other quite well. George took a couple of fouls Saturday that seemed to me should have been non-calls. I think he got robbed a bit...still had a good game. I just think he is an even better player when Eric is in the lineup. Thoughts?

I have found that when I attend away games, I get shown sportsmanship and the respect from the opposing fans in relation to the amount of respect and sportsmanship that I display toward them. Do you think your actions might just have some bearing on how you are treated when attending away games?????

I'm thinking that UT wishes Their Backup had a bit more experience...especially this morning after!
