Name a cable or satellite provider that HAS NOT gone off the deep end with a continuing program, of price increases? Even if you buy into one of the "specials" for a fixed amount for a year or so, you get hooked with all sorts of additional fees for cable/satellite boxes, additional TV hook-ups, special packages, fees for whatever, taxes, etc. It is simply a continuation of the same. But, I find it interesting that people seem to be OK with paying outrageous fees for all their fancy I-Phones with the internet hook-ups, video, texting, etc., etc. and then seem to scream about cable/satellite TV costs. Amazing stuff these days when it comes to "must have" items. And, amazing that most of them come with some pretty hefty fees, taxes, etc. Good grief...but, seems the public is pretty OK with paying the freight as I don't hear of many folks cutting off service. But, could it be that there is a bit of a backlash? Some phone plan charges are going down...or so they say. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that this is a good sign of more things to come in the way of "plan fights" between providers. Remember the "gas wars" that used to take place from time to time?

I can always count on you.

And, you are so sure that Leach is 100% truthful in his comments and legal petitions? I really don't care one way or the other, but it is interesting to me that folks who have no connection to TT, no relationship with any party involved, etc., etc. are so very sure who is right and who is wrong in this case. Because Leach turned TT into a winner does not make him wrong or right, nor does the fact that James played for SMU...which seems to be the basis for some folks "hate relationship" with him. One thing is 100% certain...this will drag out for a long time and there will be plenty of lawyers who get paid well for dragging it out as long as they can, and in the end, there will probably be a settlement in which neither side admits to any wrongdoing. In between, it will be "no holds barred, and really fun to watch because I have absolutely no dog in this fight.

I am 100% certain, Joe would not post this himself, but, I certainly will. We have the opportunity soon to re-elect a great memebr of the Mean Green Nation...a long time "Mean Greener" for sure...to his position as a Justice of the Peace. Joe Holland has earned you vote and your support for his re-election bid...so, help out a GMG.com poster, a proud member of the Mean Green Nation and...if you can vote in Denton, let's help re-elect Joe Holland. No, I was not paid to say this! Heck, even if you can't legally vote in Denton and know some Acorn members, go ahead and vote in Denton for Joe and get them to vote for him too!!!! OK, just kiddin' about that last part!

WOW, can't believe it but I agree with Quoner here! -
Interesting how people KNOW what one person will do or not do and who the dept. may or may not have contacted as yet.

His arrest has "very little bearing on his character"...how so?

Very sad...and a very yong child is left without a father...sad indeed.

NO SIR...I "quoted" about your hand on her butt....I said NOTHING about her butt! Your memory is hazy at best! I question not her devotion...but your position within the "pecking order" in your castle...excuses, excuses, that's all I ever get from you...

So, you are saying you will attend a hockey game in support of your wife's work, but she will not attend a UNT basketball game to support something you would like to do? Interesting. Leave the wife, the sister-in-law and kid at home and get yourself to the Super Pit for the game. Grab a friend if you want and go! What's the deal with that? Sounds easy to me and pretty darn accommodating at that. I assume you are kidding about all this, right?

Can someone not replace the broken record that keeps playing???? Not every thread needs to bring out the "fire Dodge" group...does it? I think everyone knows there is a contingent that would like to have seen Coach Dodge leave after last season. he didn't, he's UNT's head Coach. Let's focus energy and attention toward helping the program move forward.

Obama Bought And Paid For!
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
The democrat party knows no other way to govern than to raise taxes and spend money to buy votes in the hope they will remain in power. The problem is that they think the American public is stupid enough to go along with the system. I think the American public is smarter than that and I see a bit of a "wake up call" in this latest blatant attempt to curry favor with the unions. -
Really? Did UNT hire a new head coach? I thought we had the same guy who coached UNT last season back for this season. Man, I must have missed something. Which HS coach did we hire to take over for Dodge?????

Today's Wall Street Journal has another one of those articles on Page W1 about the amount of actual playing time in a football game. It states that "minus the 67 minutes of standing around between plays, the 17 minuets of replays, the crowd shots and the commercials, a three-hour football broadcast boils down to just 10 minuets, 43 seconds of play". Breaks down as follows: 67 minutes of players standing around 17 minutes of replays 11 minutes of actual playing time and 3 seconds of cheerleaders....... The most important 3 seconds of the whole broadcast! I'd still wager that 11 minutes is more action than in an 4 hour baseball game! You just have to see one of these stories sometime each season. Interesting that it is the WSJ.

Excellent road win for the Mean green. Man, good to see ET back...PACK THE PIT FOR SATURDAY'S GAME! Be there to see the Mean Green take revenge on Ark State! GO MEAN GREEN!

So, now we know who actually owns this administration. No more guessing...bought and paid for by the unions. Hard to argue that after his cave in on the taxing of high end health plans. Discrimination at its very base level...this is just too incredible to believe no matter which side of the aisle you favor. It's a very sad day indeed for this great nation of ours when this blatant form of discrimination comes directly from the White House. Bought and paid for....good grief!

When some nation is in trouble and needs help in such situations, it is always ALWAYS the US that steps up. I am never more proud of this great nation of ours and the men and women who serve and help than I am at times like this. Funny, I don't see the reports of Iran, Venezuela, N. Korea, China, Russia, etc. stepping up to the plate in the manner the US has to help out the people of Haiti. Sure, some will come along with the crowd, but it is great to always see the US take the lead. USA! USA! USA!

I "miss it" because I didn't listen to the Podcast. I have a lfe other than GMG.com. Ha! So, the actual comment "six wins will not be enough to keep TD on staff for the final year of his contract"...or something close to that was veberalized by RV himself. If so, OK. I'll put down the 7 win level as the expected total to keep TD and wish him well. But, I am of the opinion that as one gets closer to "drop dead date" that number will change...and probably to a lower number. I hope we get a chance to see if 5 wins does the trick...or 6 wins...as that would mean the MEAN GREEN won at least 5 games next season! Be still my heart! That would be a big improvement and, hopefully, settle down the Mean Green nation a tad! GO GET 'EM MEAN GREEN!

Not THAT hard to believe. The Texas job would be a dream job for many...much better than the Tennessee job in my opinion. And, while $900K is not $3M (obviously), one can live quite well in Austin for $900K per year. I also think we'll see a raise for Muschamp coming along very quickly to push his salary up over $1M. I think his staying at Texas makes perfect sense and is a pretty good way to go. But, if he wanted to come to UNT, well, THAT would be a whole different story! GO MEAN GREEN!
-
I would be 100% behind the hire of Lincoln Riley as the OC for UNT. GO GET HIM AND GET HIM NOW! Please and thank you! Then, let him do his job and really run the offense...just saying. GO MEAN GREEN!
-
Things look a lot different to one when they are "looking" for a new position when out of work than when being courted while holding down a job. I wonder if Eric Russell wouldn't consider UNT now that he has been canned at TT???? I hear, well, he made too much $$$ at Tech to come to UNT...how much $$$ do you make while "fired"???? Just saying that thoughts might change a bit for several coaches. This line of thinking that UNT cannot hire a good OC due to the salary level offered is just plain "stinkin' thinking"...as a well known motivational speaker would say (Zig Zigler).

Fuzzy Math
KRAM1 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Stupid is as stupid does. A third grade math student knows this is stupid. The "change" is beginning to come into view fairly clearly. How about all those wonderful jobs created and "saved" in the highway construction industry where tons of the stimulus $$$$ went? Hmmmmmmm...perhaps a hand out to the administrations union buddies, but certainly no job creation stimulus as I can find...seems the news is beginning to pick up on this a bit as well. Dear me.....
