  1. Yes...saw him.
  2. Well, hello UNT90. You don't buy tickets and you don't come to games and you don't support UNT student-athletes through a MGC membership. Great. Just what do you do other than whine and moan? Why the heck are you even here? If it gives you only negative returns, why keep posting and moaning about it? Makes zero sense. But, hey, you have a lot of company.
  3. Nope. I think Allen's problems were more in the engineering than the construction. And, I imagine the engineering here will be scrutinized very closely. Plus...this is not as much concrete as the Allen stadium. But, yes, I thought of it, just not worried.
  4. Has to be the toughest prediction Brett has ever made. 😂😂
  5. Good gosh almighty! We are now bitching and moaning about the height of a flag pole. A flag pole I tell you...one no one has actually measured. And, one that matters not exactly how tall it is or the reasons behind "why" it ends up a certain height. It is going to have the best battle flag in the nation flying from it. When that's up perhaps we can bitch and moan about the size of the flag too. Because, you know...the earth revolves around the outcome. Good gosh almighty!
  6. Today until 11:59pm is NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY sponsored by the Communities Foundation of North Texas. This ids a day where your contribution to your favorite charities are matched dollar for dollar and even small contributions can add up fast. There are lots and lots of great organizations that you can help today and by doing so help to make a big impact right here in North Texas! Please do consider giving. I have personally given to more than one organization today, so I am not asking you to do anything that I have not personally already done. ONE of the organizations I gave to today was the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS FOUNDATION to help build scholarship dollars for some great UNT students. If you might consider doing the same it would just build the total and add to the number of students that we can help.. This is super easy folks and all on-line: Go to: www.northtexasgivingday.org and in the "Find Organization" box simply type in "University of North Texas Foundation". Click on the "Foundation" when it appears and the rest is super simple. They even give you the option of adding a small amount to your donation to cover the processing fees...which I did as it is a very small amount and held the receiving non-profits a great deal. Soooooo...check it out. EASY way to help some great UNT students!
  7. Don't know why you think it would make you a bad fan. But, if your conscience makes you feel that way, I suggest you tell it to stop. Solid reasoning in my book. But, no need for the snarky remark about the number that will be there. And, I'd wager right now that average attendance for our home OC games will exceed your 1200 estimate mark even though several will played with students on break, right? I'm thinking season tickets alone will be above that 1200 mark. New coach and all. Plus, several folks have returned and purchased season tickets that had them in the past...I personally know 4 that are back after a several year "vacation". Fingers crossed. And, as to the schedule...hoping we can win a bunch of them. But, we are in CUSA with a pretty low conference RPI. So, twenty wins and a conference championship (not predicting that) will get us post-season zilch unless maybe we buy our way into a minor tourney. Only way...win the post-season conference tourney I suspect.
  8. Just curious. Do you only come to games if they play certain teams? Support for UNT...your team...has nothing to do with it?
  9. I can see it now...welcome to the Darrell Dickey indoor practice facility at UNT!
  10. I wish I could blame the refs 😢
  11. You are exactly right! Helps to keep things in perspective. Thanks. You should try this positive, glass half-full thing sometime. Nope...don't have to "care" about my Pokes as that fan base has figured out what it takes to develop a winning culture and program. Glad you still care however. And, speaking of programs...interesting reading in the Mean Green Club section of UNT's football program this year. Check it out for names there and not there.
  12. So, since we offered, is this "we can't recruit" or are kids simply deciding to go to a school they see, for some reason, as a better choice for them? How do we keep other schools from offering and kids accepting? Seems to me that it isn't so much "our coaches can't recruit" as it is..."we have not been winning enough games of late".
  13. Sums up the so-called UNT fan perfectly! And, people ask about the UNT "culture". Well, here it is front and center. It's not something important enough for many to support unless the team wins or hires a coach they like or doesn't fire a coach they don't like or don't like folks in the athletic dept or don't like "this or that". Not trying to rag on Tasty here. It is just that he happened to have the guts to admit it in this forum. Tasty is simply one of many...way too many. Maybe just a sign of the times. Very challenging to change the culture or improve programs when you have thousands of alumni and ex-students who feel exactly the same way Tasty does. Fortunately, I do think UNT is trying to do a much better job of instilling pride in its students. Prime example were four freshmen sitting right in front of us at the SMU Game last night...well, one was standing, yelling and waving a UNT flag through the game...yes, even when we were down 38. They each expressed that they were "sports fans" and loved UNT...win or lose. They plan on attending all the home football games and basketball games. They knew UNT had a history of losing, but felt they and their classmates would be making a difference in how athletics are supported at UNT. I could help but thinking, "sure kid, wait until you have been doing this for about 50 years". But, if this is any indication of what is beginning to develop as far as support in our student body, something is changing for the better. Here's hoping that "culture change" is underway. These freshmen, who I had a great time being with last night, were about the only bright spot I could find as a take-a-way from that beating we took at the hands of SMU last night.
  14. Question...no answer... Is TCUFrog UNT90 reincarnated?
  15. Thought everyone knew they once worked. Significance is who was allowed and who was not allowed to drink from the fountains.
  16. 😂😂. 👍👍
  17. Pretty much agree, but why have the vast majority not taken steps to become citizens? Has to be a compromise somewhere for these kids. It is a shame that D.C. Is in no mood to compromise. Neither side can get out of its own way these days to do the people's business. Trump gave Congress a "shot over the bow" in giving them 6 months to act as, he is correct, this is an issue for Congress not presidential powers. This one is now squarely in the lap of Congress. Can the Dems get over their butthurt over losing to Trump enough to actually serve the people? Can the R's see these kids as something other than a typical illegal alien enough to actually serve the people? We shall see. We shall see. Six months is long enough. The end result is on Congress. Will the bunch of fools actually act in the people's interest?
  18. First game for Harrell in the press box. I asked Seth how it went... he said Graham liked it and so did he. Expect to see Harrell in pressbox rest of season. Said we ran 80+ plays with 60+ on the ground. He laughed a bit saying that! Trivia question: when was the last time UNT beat SMU on the hilltop and who was coach? Andwer: 1933 with Jack Sisco as Head Coach. Ugh! Remember.. question was "on the hilltop". That must change Saturday... beat SMU!
  19. I really don't recall...sorry.
  20. Had drawings at the Kickoff Luncheon. If they represent the final product somewhat closely...going to be very nice!
  21. Saw a photo...looked like about 50 or less UNT students.
  22. There is an Alumni Association Pep Rally at Four Corners Brewery in Dallas FRIDAY evening before the game. Alumni Association also has a tailgate event on the lawn at SMU prior to the game. Come to both...will be fun. Contact the Alumni Association if you do not have the details.
  23. Excellent crowd in the Club level I thought. Better than last year. More came out to their seats, but still...way too many stay inside for good portions or all of the game. Their choice, of course, but sure wish they would come outside and make some noise. Saw lots of "new" folks trying out their seats. Their were at least 8 newbies in my section alone that I noticed. Thought crowd was OK for Lamar, but work to do. That "work" starts at SMU next Saturday!
