Yep...the DONORS who put up the cash for this series. Not UNT. UNT has brought in a ton of liberal speakers and paid the entire bill to do so. No list of conservative profs nor the Prez tried to stifle them. And, for the record...I will be very glad when this talk is over and everyone can just stop trying to stifle free speech and UNT can get back to their liberal speakers so these profs and others can stop being so childish and butthurt over it all.

I still have not heard anyone state exactly what felony Trump Jr has susposed to have committed. calling someone a felon who has not been convicted of a felony is simply ignorant and bordering on assinine. Like the idea of Trump, Jr. speaking, don't like the idea...your call, but geeeezzzz folks, it is a speech not WWIII or the endorsement by UNT of anything the guy says. Some folks just need to grow up and get a life.

It is not. It gets a bit of light from the nearby sign, but, at this point, it is not lighted. Hopefully, lighting is on the agenda. Perhaps lights powered by solar panels to continue the green theme around Apogee?

Agree ... it was King as well. And, the Alumni Association has given Mr King a well deserved recognition award. He does, deserve something from the larger University as well. He darn sure earned it!

Best acknowledgement ever and LONG overdue. I have such respect for that man. I was so happy to see this take place that I was getting a bit misty-eyed as well. This man was a ground-breaking student-athlete during a time when it took real courage. One of the best to ever don a college uniform..or a pro one for that matter. Without Abner, there probably would have been no Mean Joe at UNT. They guy is a champion in so many ways. About time UNT started recognizing Abner like they do (and should) Mean Joe. How this came about...Wren, Smatresk, etc. "Well Done" and thank you. Very moving moment.

Thought he actually did get his foot on the ball. No? I truly hope it did not end his streak but another fan at the game said he did contact the ball. Can anyone clear this up? Here's hoping that the arrest is alive. Also heard you were at the radio show without a hat. And, me having to miss that one! Just my luck. 😂😂😂 -

I did for a short time while in the Air Force. One at U of Missouri and one through the U of Central Missouri. Commute to Columbia at night just got to be too much...so, dropped that one and kept the Central Mo one going. I really like Shanbour's attitude and personality. He's a smart kid. I believe he said he is just about to start his MBA work. Got to love a kid who has this much "want to" and drive! 👍👍. Plus, from all reports, he is a great teammate and leader. And, who doesn't live that Mohawk cut? 👍 -

Kel Straubmueller #91 has returned to the team and is now doing the deep snapping. Former Argyle deep snapper. Welcome back Kel. BTW...not our starting deep snapper tonight. Took over after a couple of miscues.

You have given us more than $ten million in traditions value by designing that beautiful battle flag. Cannot put a price on that! Well done, Sir! -

Didn't Keena (or one of our punters last season) do pretty well with that rugby style punt in certain situations? Seems to me, that while it isn't so much a thing of beauty, that it can be quite effective in certain situations. Is it the style of punt or the execution that seems to be this year's challenge?

Wow! You got all this from my "in jest" post? I suggest you read it again when you aren't overly Starbucks caffeinated. It was done in fun. Really sorry it did not come off as such to you. I re-read it, and do think it's pretty tame. But, here goes: 1. You sort of are here for our entertainment as you made a comment early on about posting updates of your travels from time to time during your adventure. So, there is that.... 2. Travel is a choice. It does not make one superior (as you seem to imply) to anyone else. And, you really do not want to play the "places we have been" game with me or several others whom you mock here on GMG.Com. 3. Had no clue you were in San Fran, but gee, thanks for the Christian history education pastor. The "god-forsaken" was a joke as your photos (the ones I have seen anyway) are from beautiful places...I believe I have complimented the photography as such. You will note my comment about a bath and a bed...seems true based on your comments. 4. We are not here for your "holier than thou" mocking superiority because we do not choose to chunk it all and live in a tent or car or off the generosity of friends for 4-5 years. Your choice and good for you, but those going to Mexican beaches and drinking Tecate or going to visit grandkids are as welcome to that choice as you are to your tent. I am guessing that they are as happy with their choice as you are with yours. They simply do not choose to mock those that choose otherwise or to tell everyone how much more superior they might be given different travel choices. So, ya. I guess that brings us back to those statues of dead guys that no one much cared about for, what, some 50+ years? Why are all those folks making such a big deal out of it all just now? Better question...why haven't all the self-appointented "superior" folks figured it out before now? Surely they have been pondering the issue at Starbucks everywhere for years now? Darn, man, lay off the caffeine! Not one thing in my post that should have created such a reaction. Lighten up..Lee's statue was taken down in Dallas. Now, everyone will just get along super swell. That was the problem after all.

Aren't you supposed to be traveling the world with your bride living in beautiful scenic places? Why are you on the internet with all that going on? We want "adventure stories" not this stuff. Ply us with cool travel stories. I think you need your own thread. But, you were recently looking for a "bar back" job in some "god forsaken" location so you guys could "hang around" a civilized community for awhile. Of course you were telling everyone you were a libertarian and did not want to pay taxes on those mega earnings. I think you just wanted a bed and hot water for awhile. Edit: And don't go all UNT90 on me here accusing me of divulging personal info. You gave it all away on Facebook. 😂😂

Somebody just needs to chill out a bit. It was a good effort by the Mean Green today and overall I think UNT took a step forward. Defensive front played much better than I expected against those big run oriented Corn fed Iowa boys. No doubt our D was pooped going into the 4th. UNT is a young team with a young coaching staff. Both are going through some learning "pains", but the bright spots are there and I do believe positive progress is being made. SMU took us to the woodshed the week before. UNT was up 14-10 AT Iowa at the half. It is no secret that special teams needs some improvement as does on-field discipline....especially before and after plays! But, overall, I was proud of my Mean Green today. Much prouder of the effort I saw today than last week at SMU. So, everyone calm down. CUSA play is starting soon, we have a home game next week that we can win. Let's see what "corrections" are made and what progress we see. I have seen progress after every game. I will go to bed tonight feeling much better about our season's prospects than I did last Saturday after that SMU game. Not one coach we have coaches to lose or to make mistakes. They are doing all they can to help our players win. But, a coach cannot trot on the field and punt the ball, or intercept a pass, or sack the opposing QB, or throw a TD pass. Everyone wants to win. Fixes will be made whether it is to players, coaches or game plans and schemes. We will see how it goes, but let's not "eat ourselves" as a fan base. Chill. Let's see what happens against UAB this next week.

Well...that's interesting. Would have never guessed UTEP. After living in the metroplex his entire life, El Paso is certainly going to be a change.
