Should have asked one of your brothers about trying to carry that knife into the Superdome. 😳😳 Wiuld have saved you the walk back to the hotel.

I love your 50/50 raffle idea, but do not believe it is allowed at such “official” and University sponsored events. Something to do with “games of chance”. Just what I have been told. Edit: P.S. I had a great time in NOLA.

Sure...let’s blame the fan base. Great idea! 👍 I prefer to discuss the “so-called” fan base who flap their gums, but withhold support and let the fan base you knock do all the financial “lifting”. Biggest issue was, is and may well continue to be $$$$. We have leadership in place at the top of the University, finally, we have a coach, finally, we have facilities on the ground or planned, finally, but what we don’t have are enough fans willing to do the little and big things to make it happen. Plus, we still have a student body, as a whole, who don’t get it. Mark my words (I do hope I am wrong) that student vote is going down in flames! So, I am thinking the actual, donating, season ticket buying, going to bowl games, fan base, as small as it really is, might just be in line for a pass here!

I will keep fingers crossed for a solid Mean Green turnout. Lots of today’s students have their own transportation, folks still purchase on StubHub and through other sources (even Alumni), there will be some Mean Green walk-up sales and lots of folks are waiting to commit for one reason or another. So, fingers crossed the Mean Green will show up in force. We shall see...we shall see, but whatever crowd size turns up, I know I will have a great time watching the Mean Green topple Troy.

DRC: Source: Littrell not interested in SMU job
KRAM1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Why would any coach want to go to a program that struggles as much for attendance as SMU does from one struggling as much for attendance and support as UNT does? Out of the frying pan and into the fire for a few more $$$? One can live rather nicely in Denton, TX on $1million a year while building a program and a coaching reputation. When Seth Littrell leaves UNT it will be for a much bigger program than SMU and for more $$$ than SMU can offer. In the meantime, I am really enjoying the Seth Littrell Show! Go Mean Green! Beat Troy! See you in New Orleans!- 29 replies

Yes, I know it is late, but I have a friend’s two season tickets to today’s men’s B.B. with a scheduled 5pm tip available if someone would like them...fre, of course. Thought I had them given away, but they had to cancel. So, if you would like them let me know. I can figure a way to get them to you. Maybe leave at will call or something. Anyone interested? First up gets ‘em.

What a game! This is a UNT team that people have been asking for over the last few years. Even my wife, a fan but not as much a sports fan but one who enjoys the social aspects of attending UNT games, mentioned on the way home last night that “that was really a fun game to watch”. Undermanned and with Woolridge playing hurt for over 40 min. (Hip pointer suffered early), this team hit big shot after big shot down the stretch and played some inspired defense to get this OT win! The only problem is...very few people witnessed it. So few students that one would think that the Christmas break had started and maybe 1200 fans on top of that. Too bad because if you enjoy college basketball you are missing out. I understand how hard it is to “get back in the routine” of two games a week (even if you don’t go to the women’s games-this week three with Saturday’s double header. But, here’s an option for you... Come to the double header Saturday. It gives you a chance to check out the very energetic and fun defense specialist women at 3pm followed 30 min after the end by the men. You still get home plenty early to get the kiddos in bed, and you get a chance to see for yourself what these teams are all about! If you are looking for an inexpensive and fun Saturday afternoon, come by the Super Pit and support these teams. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea. Need to find some ,method to get students to check out basketball again. But, be that as it may, SUMG is correct...this is a great idea for the students. I hope the place is packed. BY THE WAY...the athletic department is asking folks to help send a student to the bowl game by purchasing student tickets and donating them. They have negotiated a $20 ticket price with students for the bowl game and they are asking donors to cover half that cost...so, for $10 you can help send a student to the game. I bought a few student tickets this morning. I hope others will do the same. It is a great way to help even if you cannot attend. Let's see if we can't get at least 1500 students to the game! Just call the ticket office and let them know you would like to help by purchasing a student ticket...or two or three or more.

Driving with friends....you know...you are so off base with your unfounded and Fake News criticism of my post that it really is humorous how fast you jumped to criticize me and pound your own chest.
-
You are funny...absolutely NO info from Athletic Dept or UNT or ANYONE associated with UNT in ANY capacity. Just a friend who knows how to search the internet and has a lot of experience going to bowl games. Took a risk and booked before the announcement. You could have done the same had you thought to use the internet. Not hard to google CUSA Bowl Team Hotels. But, thanks for always jumping to conclusions. Maybe if you had an internet savvy friend..... EDIT: BTW...as of now...nothing is sold out. So, fake news from Tree Fiddy...Ha!
-
Well, that does make a bit of difference. Now wondering why the Athletic Dept is waiting so long to "officially" announce? Maybe they want to announce travel packages or ticket sales, etc. OK...let's go Bowling...Acme Oyster House here I come! Beat Troy!
-
Nothing like upstaging the Athletic Dept in announcing this before they did. Statement sent out that there would be an announcement around 2:30PM. The Brett goes and spoils the party! Well, not really a surprise. My hotel room and transportation to New Orleans is set. Let's go BOWLING! Beat Troy!

Brett McMurphy says North Texas Lock for NOLA
KRAM1 replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Did any of you listen to or attend the last Coach Littrell Radio Show? I did, and Wren talked a good bit about a “bowl experience” for the players. One that is not local, but close enough for our fans in a fun location. Said no Bowl was out, that there were several factors involved and that UNT is not the only one having a say. He said the opponent is also a factor, but that the player experience is the big thing for this bowl game. Given CUSA’s bowl tie ins, what bowl does that sound like to you...barring “unforeseen circumstances”? Me...I booked a hotel room in New Orleans today. Just guessing of course, but can cancel if need be, without cost. We’ll know in a very few short days. For me, at this stage of our rebuilding a winning tradition, I prefer a match-up that gives us a very good opportunity for a win to end the season with a possible eleven wins for the first time ever. Winning helps recruiting more than anything else in my opinion of course.- 418 replies

So, question. When will the fans return? I have witnessed a completely feel with this team under Coach McCasland. This team, young that it is and still yet finding its groove, is playing its collective tail off. The hustle is great and it appears that these players are being held accountable not only by the coaching staff, but by their teammates. It is not always pretty and they do not always win, but they are giving the effort. And, for this fan at least, they are super fun to watch play. It just seems too bad that they are not being rewarded a bit better through larger crowds. Lots of change, of course, and it is no secret that some fans had issues, but... Had any issue with RV...he’s gone, Had any issue with Coach Benford...he’s gone, Had issues with ice hockey-style substitution patterns....gone, Had issues with players sulking and not being held accountable...gone, Have issues with the Super Pit...tons of changes made and still being made, I could certainly go on, but I think you get the drift. It’s a new day and “newdenton” at the SuperPit just like at Apogee. These student-athletes need the support from both their fellow students and the fans...current and past. I realize that winning is still hit and miss and that once one “gets out of the habit” of going that it is hard to get back into that habit. But, if you find yourself withwant of something to do check out both the men’s and women’s basketball schedules. We have players and coaching staffs for both you can be very proud of both on and off the court. Plus, bottom line, these games are FUN! Here’s hoping we see some folks deciding to once again support the Mean Green. I think that, if they do, that they will be pleasantly surprised for now and once again excited for the future.

I was told by a coach today that she is still battling knee issues. She was not on bench today. Probably in class.

Mike Miller is playing....or did you mean actually contributing other than just minutes?

It was a pretty easy round trip, and made all the more “easy” by witnessing Mean Green win #9! So proud of this team. They continue to surprise! Was great meeting a few Houston area grads at the Alumni tailgate too. Nice crowd...nice event! Best of all... another Mean Green win!

“Easily beaten”? We were ahead 90% of the time. Lost late when we couldn’t handle their zone, tried to shoot over the top of it and went cold as ice as shooters. Should we have won? Absolutely. ”Easily beaten”...not so much! -

Funny. I have made many jumps...started with five static line jumps and then went freefall. Let me tell you, there are definitely better jumpers than others. It took me several jumps before I got my body position anywhere near correct for decent free falls and it took even longer for me to feel comfortable doing stars and other formations. I was definitely NOT one of the better formation jumpers within our group. In fact, I pretty much just stayed out of the way! Ha! I enjoyed jumping to a spot better as it was just me trying it hit a spot on the ground as close as I could. It is definitely not just jump out and then fall. Ha! Well, in my case for several jumps it was pretty much jump out roll over a few times and then straighten out and "fly right". Took a bit, but once you get it...you get it! Lots of fun and much safer than many think. Just don't forget to pull that rip cord. I still have the rip cord from my first free fall jump! These Army Black Knights are fantastic at what they do. They are definitely the experts.
