    Rudy, the "good news" is that the clown has said he will not run for Mayor. He would be interim Mayor if Leppert stepped down to run for the US Senate. Let's all hope the clown keeps his word and doesn't run. The "keeping his word" might be a bit hard for him, but we can all hope.

    With this game canceled, we will all need a Mean Green basketball fix by Saturday. So, make your plans now to show up at 2:30PM at Fox and Hounds in Lewisville for a Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association sponsored WATCH PARTY for the Western Kentucky game. Time for the Mean Green to grab a win on the road. See you Saturday at Fox & Hounds. Event is open to all UNT Alumni, fan, friends and family. No admission charge...of course, and plenty of Mean Green Nation members to meet and greet.

    I really think the best course of action is to simply ignore this guy. He has had his day, and he is just being a pest now. The guy loves his "15 min. of fame" in the DRC, and I would think he loves reading rebuttal letters as it shows someone is paying attention to his antics. Just ignore the guy and eventually he will go away...agiain. Until, of course, he finds some other something that he dislikes and wants to once again be a fool. Ignore the guy. Stop posting on here about his letters, stop responding to them in rebuttal letters, and I would bet he will just go away. Who cares, anyway? Like it has been said, the stadium is being built. End of story.

    We are pleased to announce that the GoMeanGreen.com Basketball Game benefitting the UNT Cheerleaders is on! The game will take place on Saturday March 26th, 1PM tip off (please arrive for warm ups at Noon) at the Mean Green Village Gym. It's time to break out those dusty Converse out of the closet and show us your "A" game. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the UNT Cheer Squad. Our cheerleaders do such a great job and they need our support! This is a great event and we need your support to make it happen! DATE: March 26, 2011 PLACE: Mean Green Village Gym TIME: 1PM Tip Off, 12:00 Noon Check In/Warmup COST: $25 (includes player shirt) REGISTER NOW: We need to know if you can play so we can set up the tourney format and draft. Please respond to this post or contact Mark Miller at mmiller@ipi.org to reserve your spot! Please include a brief bio including your age, height, weight and prior basketball experience. We will provide this bio information to the coaches who are conducting the draft. DRAFT: The Draft will be conducted in the GoMeanGreen.com chatroom about a week prior to the event. GoMeanGreen.com will have a live podcast with interviews and coverage on the day of the event for those unable to attend. We are working on some very unique items including signed jerseys and basketballs. The cheerleaders will also be available to take pictures.     I keep thinking Dallas is getting its act together, and then something like this takes place. In the name of all that is holey, what in the world possessed Caraway to do something like this? Stupid is as stupid does, and this is BIG TIME stupid. That guy is the Mayor Pro-Tem of the City (thank goodness he has said he is not running for Mayor in the next election), and he is a "leader" for the City. I cannot imagine a more stupid act to follow up all the NFL and Jerry Jones greed grab Super Bowl event. I know the Super Bowl wasn't in Dallas per se, but the nation thinks it was, and that's all that matters here for the time being. Good grief, is there some cloud over Dallas and have the aliens taken over the city leadership???? STUPID is the best thing I can say about Vick and his non-official key to the City of Dallas. Facepalms all the way around!

    He certainly does. UNT needs to be a program that honors its commitments. That word will get around and it will be a very positive thing in recruiting and in building a positive reputation for this program. I don't care if no other school does it or the "next best thing since sliced bread" says he will sign if we had a scholarship open when all are actually accounted for that year, I want UNT to be a program built on character and credibility. Glad to see this. GO MEAN GREEN!

    Looks like attendance numbers are up from last year. That's a very good thing, but I still think UNT should have a low attendance number in the 5,000's for all it's home games. An attendance of 5,000 for a home game should be considered low for UNT. We can do it, yes, we can! GO MEAN GREEN!

    Bump...just wanting to keep this event "top of mind". I hope we have another really nice turnout. The place is great, centrally located for most of the metroplex alums, the beer is cold and there will be a good number of Mean Green fans and friends to talk with, cheer the Mean green on to victory with and just "hang out" with on a Saturday afternoon. Hope to see you there! GO MEAN GREEN!

    There will be a WATCH PARTY sponsored by the Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association beginning at 2:00PM at Fox and Hounds in Lewisville this Saturday-Feb. 12th The watch Party is open to all UNT Alumni, friends and family and any other UNT fan who might like to attend. There is no admission charge. Beginning at 2PM there will be a short presentation reviewing the new UNT Alumni Pavilion being build in coordination with the new football stadium. The it will be on to the Western Kentucky game where we help cheer the Mean green on toward a rare road win. Should be a great time, and the nice folks at Fox and Hounds have offered us a bigger room for our event as it seems we have outgrown the room we have used the last couple of times. Let's have a big turnout and fill the "new room" with lots of GREEN! Hope to see you Saturday at 2PM at Fox and Hounds in Lewisville...all supporters of the Mean green are welcome!

    I tend to like the fact that UNT did not land a boatload of JUCO guys. If UNT is going to build for the long-term it should do so with HS signees and walk-on's, etc. A few JUCO's, well, OK, but to build your team around JUCO's for a quick fix is asking for long term trouble in my opinion. I can be patient as the team builds as i think the "being patient" part will not be nearly as long as some think. I see more wins on the horizon than losses. GO MEAN GREEN! Good things are indeed happening for the Mean Green.

    I would like to see green bay win the game, but my pick is Pittsburgh as far as the team i think has the best chance of winning. I just think the Steeler's D has a bit of an edge. but, come on Green Bay!

    Adam..is this your birthday? If so...happy Birthday to a great Mean Green fan! I realize the weather is bad, but maybe you can get out and throw some snowballs at SMU grads or something fun like that to celebrate. have a great day...it's your day...you own...it. Happy Birthday. By the way...I agree 100% with your comments about George! GO MEAN GREEN!

    There were too bright spots for me last night...the crowd and getting to talk with some great Mean Green fans and athletic staffers in the Mean Green Room before the game. Got to have some El Guapo's Mexican food with several of GMG.com's greats (thank you El Guapo for braving the elements to be there with the chow), and that is always a very good thing. I appreciated the fact that the athletic staffers made the effort to get to the game and to open the Mean Green Room. Folks at our table had driven from Frisco, McKinney, Ft. Worth (but heading back to Granberry), Dallas and Denton to get to the game and support the Mean Green. Thanks to all for the effort made to make the game...Great fans...super job! I guess my disappointment was that the team's effort no where near matched those great fans of the Mean Green who braved the elements to get to the game. Great job students as well. There was a very nice turnout last night...attendance figures say 4100+ (which might be stretching it a bit in my opinion, but who cares?). I simply cannot recall a game where the Mean green played so poorly on defense...and offense. I won't single any player out here for criticism, but i will add that George had another double-double (however, we could have used some free throws going in, big George). Sad that the fans made such an effort just to see the team sort of play like they could care less! Better get some fire before the tournament...still a possible first round bye, but even that is not looking like such a "sure thing" these days...may have to win out to get that bye. See you at the next game at the Super Pit...then on to Hot Springs! GO MEAN GREEN! Thanks folks in the Mean Green Room for helping to make my bride and I's decision to attend the game a good one. You guys are GREAT!

    That is a keeper! Greatness...so very cute. That video warmed this granddad's heart this morning. Emmitt, I had no idea that you could father such an adorable and talented young lady. Better keep those sidearms loaded and at the ready in a few years! Just make sure they are locked up and out of sight. Best post I have seen in a long time. When are you going to bring her to a basketball game. She would be a hit in the Mean green Room before the game!

    So, do we all get a one game refund? Ha! I am just glad to see the game is still "on" for tonight. I wonder about the crowd size with the snow event predicted to hit later this evening/night? This winter stuff sucks. If I wanted to live in this sort of weather I'd move north! Come on sun! See you at the game tonight (I hope) and GO MEAN GREEN!

    Oh, you are so right...as you very well know, it's not just the students. I suspect you have been to a few A&M games, as have I, through the years. I wonder if she's in the Corps?

    Sometimes it actually does hurt people, in a financial sort of way to have someone steal, intellectual property. At the "think tank" our authors actually do quite a bit of work in the area of intellectual property and intellectual property rights. You just might be amazed at what the financial impact is when it comes to "pirating" anything. It is starting to cause some serious damage to some very big industries and has led to lay-offs, reduced incomes, etc. This really is a big issue and one that faces the economies of the entire world. I don't know about the site in question, but if, indeed, it is a pirated site, one probably ought not bother with it. Or not........
