  1. You guys are really funny. Best comedy routine I have read in sometime. Don't let any lack of knowledge of history get in your way of a great comedy routine. Lonnie, what, you didn't have your own place and you had to use the homes of folks who were actually working and paying their mortgages to hit on their daughters? It's not a bunch of Baby Boomers who have had their homes foreclosed on because they bought more house than their egos could pay for.....What, you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? BooHoo. bring it on..."Us", we "Them" can handle it. HeHe.... I think it should be Silver and TheFakeLonnie at 20 paces...my money is on Silver...I've seen TheFakeLonnie play flag football.
  2. This young Man seems to have his act together. It will be great fun to watch him play wearing the Mean Green colors. Come on NCAA's!!!!!
  3. Beat 'em both and the discussion is mute! GO MEAN GREEN! This is going to be fun.
  4. Riley Dodge is no quitter. That kid is one tough QB and has a good deal of character. Good luck to Riley. I hope he earns the #1 spot and sets records galore for his team. Appreciate all you did for the Mean Green.
  5. They practice law in Louisiana? I thought they just lined up and yelled insults about each other's family trees...made up and then ate some fried 'gator and drank some 'shine together. Who knew? Is it still based on the Napoleonic Code in Louisiana?
  6. You forgot to mention that he's also a kook. Highest grad rate of any public university...does he mean D1 public university? You know, a lot of that stuff is probably true and lots of Tech fans wish the guy was still at Tech, but if it was all so wonderful while he was there, why is not still there? I do think there is more to being a head coach than just winning...might want to check with DD about that. Leach is a great interview and reporters rarely have to work hard when they interview the guy. I like to hear him give an interview...much more exciting than listening to Papa Joe Paterno (and others), but I still would not want him to be UNT's head coach. I like the guy UNT hired. let's see how he does in the next few years. Me, I'm guessing he does just fine. GO MEAN GREEN and Why Not North Texas!!!!!
  7. I think it looks pretty nice.
  8. WOW...can you spell dominate, and then lose??? Ouch, how do you forget where the net is located in the shootout., and how in the world did that thing get to a shootout or even extra time for that matter??? Should have been a 4or 5 to 2 win for the US. But, it was not to be...congrats to the Japanese team. Really the "feel good" story of the World Cup and they played their game to perfection throughout the tournament. The ladies of the US did us all proud and played their hearts out, but it was just not to be, but thanks for the exciting times and great games. You did yourselves and your sport proud. Can't say it wasn't exciting, just wasn't the ending I was looking forward to celebrating.
  9. Agree completely about Zach. I am confident we will see Zach play a big role for the Mean green defense this season, and post-season honors should follow. And, yes, I too think Coach McCarney will see that the defense rises once again!
  10. Can you explain a bit further? If you would rather, feel free to PM me in lieu of giving details openly on the board.
  11. Thanks for representing the Mean green. Interesting that no Austin area based Mean green fans participated. Nice that UNT was represented so well. Thanks for the recap of events. Hope it was great fun. GO MEAN GREEN!
  12. Good luck to a great player and a great guy! Well done, George. I hope you enjoy the team and take that league apart so we'll get the chance to see you play here once again...in the NBA. Go get 'em George! Well done, sir! Thanks for the memories.
  13. That's really pretty funny. +1 for you, sir!
  14. These posts are great and reflect the breed of fan, new and old, that will help the program move forward. WE are, indeed, a big part of this process. We simply cannot leave it up to "someone" else, we must step up and be part of the solution and not part of the problem. Thanks to all who support the Mean green and are dedicated to seeing it move forward. Thank you! GO MEAN GREEN!
  15. Excellent...thanks for the info. Great stuff Coach mac is doing these days...really trying hard to sell the program. Really exciting stuff. BTW...bostonsports...are these paid internships....I hope so! GO MEAN GREEN!
  16. Who are the "exes"? So, I assume you mean the UNT Alumni Association. Hasn't been the "Exes" for a few years now. So, would you buy one if we did? With the UNT Alumni logo on both the front and back? That Nike "swoosh" might have to be in another location owing to the shape and size of the logo. We might consider this IF we knew there was a big enough demand.
  17. Not yet anyway. I do think it would sell extremely well. Lots of PU's running around these days. Is there a need to get UNT & CLC (or whatever they call it) approval as a resale item? I know we have run into that from time to time in such matters. Go for it...I don't have a hitch on either vehicle, but would be up for buying one anyway.
  18. On this I think we can mostly all agree!
  19. Sad just sad understanding of tax economics 101! Class envy, and a big heaping of buying what the dems are trying to sell. Scream on Screaming Eagle...nice comprehension regarding the example as well...geeeezzzz. Sad.
  20. Yes, you can definitely bring a guest. Possible charge has not been determined as yet. Rumor has it that there may be no charge for guests (within reason) for the first game. But, like I said, those details have not been formalized quite yet. Stay tuned, but I'll be glad to see you and your guest at the pavilion on Sept. 10th. And, hopefully, many more times after that.
  21. Agree...with the comment that a couple of other positives are possibilities: 1) The team rids itself of a negative attitude by one player toward honoring his commitment to his teammates and university; and 2) Some other WR is now given the opportunity to develop and demonstrate what he can do to help the team.
  22. Amen. Plus 1 for you, Sir. And, contrary to some other posters, I do not see a Leach hire as a sure thing in selling out the stadium. I think Coach McCarney is a much MUCH better overall selection for UNT than a Leach hire ever would have been. If Leach is so great, why is he still in the broadcast booth? Lots of teams have looked for and hired new head coaches since Tech did the right thing and fired the guy....Maryland, Ohio State, etc., etc., etc.
  23. Rumor has it that there are indeed some discussions taking place regarding naming rights. These things do take time and with the economy still in "slow" recovery mode, it could take even longer. But, rumor has it......
  24. Japan is on a mission of their own just as the USA is in this World Cup. This will be a tough match-up for the US as the Japanese like to play a control game and kick it around in the midfield awaiting a shot opportunity. The US is bigger and stronger, but the Japanese have shown they are willing to mix it up with bigger teams...see Germany about that. The US MUST MUST pressure the Japanese in the midfield and not let them control the game like the French did yesterday. The French had about 55% of the possession and out shot the US terribly. If the US lets Japan control the pace and the possession clock I am fearful of the outcome. The Japanese are really playing to help their nation overcome the recent disasters. It's a mission for them, and they are responding accordingly. The US must step up and take charge early. The height of the US forwards and midfielders against the Japanese could be a factor on corners and set plays into the box...not to mention flow of play action. Look for Wambach to try several of her headers into the net. Must get pressure and not lose the midfield to the Japanese. may well be another classic game. Can't wait to see the action Sunday. GO USA!!!!!! Beat Japan!!!!!!! USA...USA...USA.....GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!! QUESTION: Has Rapinoe earned the start for the final?
  25. Well, with that attitude and background I am happy he's on his way to McNeese...if he really is. Bad attitude is the least of his challenges. I heard a "rumor" as to why he was kicked off the team and it has much more to do with than just a "bad attitude". I think Coach Dodge had to deal with some of the same "stuff". He is definitely replaceable, and I, for one, believe that he will not be missed. Good luck, Darius. If you have a football career left, here's hoping you clean up your act and attitude.
