UNT Hopes to Follow Villarreal's Vision to Success
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Good to see this write-up and the sidebar piece in today's DRC...just on the same day that some idiot named "Smith" has a letter to the editor published calling for RV's firing! Denia resident perhaps? Either way, the guy has no clue. GO MEAN GREEN! -
Good point, and I would add that Oklahoma is not going anywhere without Oklahoma State.

Aren't young children susposed to be in bed by 11:51PM...even on Fridays?
-
As I understand it they were.

Tylermeangreen has been pointing this out for some time, and has expressed some frustration in the past for the lack of focus on the east Texas area...now, that has changed as have several things with this new and experienced coaching staff. Tylermeangreen is a very good source of east Texas info...thanks Tylermeangreen.

Folks, I have no indication of what the amount or the source or the purpose of this donation might be, and anyone who tells you what it is may well be into simple speculation, but there is "chatter" about several different areas including athletics and academics. So, let's just hold our jets and see. It is a big deal and one the University is handling in a big way with an announcement event. I found out as I was sent an invitation to the event through the Alumni Association as a board member. My wife and I are definitely going, and we are super excited for UNT. Whatever it is...stadium, academics, alumni or a combination of some sort, it is a GREAT thing and will be an eventful and exciting day in the history of this great University of ours. Let the speculation continue, but whatever it is, I am really happy to see the University beginning to pick up such support. man, this is great news. Say what you will, but GREAT things are happening for UNT. WHY NOT NORTH TEXAS INDEED! Go Mean Green!

Folks; I just received notice of a historic event for UNT. The invitation was titled "History Will Be Made" and it refers to the announcement on August 15th of the single largest private commitment to UNT that it has ever received. I am extremely excited about this and cannot wait to find out the details of this historic gift for the university. Folks, GREAT THINGS are truly happening at UNT these days, and it is a great time to be a member of the Mean Green Nation. People are definitely noticing the greatness that is YOUR UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS!!!! Be proud...be Green! GO MEAN GREEN & WHY NOT NORTH TEXAS INDEED!!!!! Click here to view the article

Yea, but he sort of screwed the pooch on that League of Nations thing.....
-
Oh, good, let's start a thread about traditions. We haven't done that......

Rick, agree 100%. This does not sound like Kenny Lyons. I have always heard him speak in positive terms about UNT and his experience while playing for UNT. He seems way to nice and way too humble a guy to have make a comment like that attributed to him. I'd like to hear what he has to say about the quote. That's not the Kenny Lyons I have talked to on numerous occasions.
-
That, in itself, is amazing...see, people do read these threads...and they pay attention. Got to love all the positive pub coming UNT's way these days.

Happy Birthday, Rudy! Appreciate all your support for the Mean Green, and thanks for your support of all the GMG.Com flag football and basketball games. Have a great birthday....and...GO MEAN GREEN!

The Libyian Situation
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Excellent story. I am glad that some have not forgotten. The British graves of war dead are so different than the US war dead graves in that there are personal messages engraved on many of the British tombstones. It is extremely moving to visit one of these sites and to read the inscriptions. Once you have, you, too, will never forget. May God bless and keep them all. -

UNT Football Kickoff Cookout July 30 5-7 PM
KRAM1 replied to greenjoe's topic in Mean Green Football
And, to echo Silver, could we all show up in Mean Green gear of some sort or another, please? Let's really show our colors at this first Kickoff Cookout in the new stadium. -
It's a love fest...I think you are 1000% CORRECT!!!!! Can we all just wear our Mean green gear with pride often, and for certain at Mean Green events and gatherings as Silver suggests. I'm in....
-
Add me to the long list of those who appreciate your insights on basketball. Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...GO MEAN GREEN!

Agree...it's fantastic!

I served and I got spit on for it. I see no point in the ridiculous thread. Each and every generation has its successes and its "not so successes". Anyone with even half a brain can figure that out. The folks in DC who were leading "my war" were not Baby Boomers. Most were from the so-called "Greatest generation" and the Korean War era. The Baby Boomers were fighting and dying in numbers much greater than we see today. We can be thankful that the current group of young men and women serving their country in armed forces are not subjected to the causality rates the Baby Boom generation suffered through. One casualty is one too many, however. carry on...can we talk UNT football instead?????

Why I'd rather beat Indiana than Houston
KRAM1 replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
OOPS! Yep, missed that one. Really appreciate the spell check...sorry. -
WHY NOT NORTH TEXAS!!!!! That's not a question, it's a statement. If you cannot get excited about UNT and the Mean green seeing that interview and the stadium then you just must be ready for the undertaker. I was so proud to be a member of the great Mean green nation while watching that interview. Great interview and a good length as well, not some 30 sec. spot. This was the real deal, and everyone who calls them self a fan of the Mean green should be VERY proud of THEIR UNIVERSITY. It is high time that all alums and fans of the Mean Green wear their Mean Green gear often and with pride and challenge anyone (alum or non-alum alike) who dares to make disparaging remarks about the Mean Green and UNT in general. It stops NOW and the Mean Green Nation needs to lead that charge. You never hear Coach Mac in public being anything but positive about the Mean green, and that is beginning to get across in the Metroplex and beyond and it is helping to bring pride back to the Mean Green Nation members who need for some reason to have their pride restored. The time is NOW for the Mean green nation...be proud of your university and help to spread the word. Go grab an alum who hasn't been back or who hasn't attended a game in a long time and invite them back to see the progress. Invite them to return to the Mean Green Nation. My guess is that many are just looking for any excuse to "come home". Just a fantastic interview! GO MEAN GREEN & Why Not North Texas!!!!!!

Hats off to the SigEps for getting this going. If you have 100 alums back (with many having not attended a game in years) you are really doing something great for the Sept. 10th attendance and for future season ticket and game days sales as well i would imagine. The Greeks are a great source of school pride and spirit and I have been a bit sad to see their lack of support for athletics in general that last several years at UNT. That was definitely not the case in the "olden days" at UNT. VERY happy to see the spirit returning within the Greek community. A strong and supportive Greek community is indeed a good thing. Hats off to you for getting this going. It only takes a few people trying to do things positive for UNT and the Athletic department to get things going in a positive direction both now and into the future. Thanks for being one of those who are willing to help. GO MEAN GREEN!

Then why go to law school in Louisiana and study that Napoleonic Code stuff that isn't used anywhere but in the swamps of Louisiana? Plenty of great law schools in Texas, and I'll bet you could get into just about any one you wanted. Besides UNT needs you sitting in your seat at Fouts for ALL the home games. Looking at the bright side, you will probably raise the IQ of the whole state several notches just by showing up at LSU Law.
