I already said...PM me and I'll give it to you...I am not about to post it here...I do not want to take "hits" away from all the good work Harry does through this board. It's a board that competes with this one and was started because some folks did not like the fact that there were so many "homers" on this board, so many thread hijacks (I can definitely understand this frustration), and some perceived prejudice on the part of GMG.Com moderators (I think that pretty much covers it). Said it was for serious sports and Mean Green talk...started to join before I saw all the "special" treatment that I was getting over there along with everyone else who seems to have anything positive to say about UNT, the Alumni Association, the Mean green Club, RV, JJ, and on and on, or simply disagrees with a position taken by the main parties on the board...this board (GMG.Com) is referred to as the "H" board..."Homer" board...if you don't agree with them, just be ready for the venom and "special" treatment you will receive...both in the board and in public. Trust me on that...I know from a very personal standpoint. Don't get me wrong...there are lots of great Mean Green fans on that board as well...it's just the general negative tenor and very venomous tone taken toward both UNT staffers and other posters that I cannot abide. It's the "bent" that board has taken...not the people themselves as at the end of the day, we all want only the best for UNT and the Mean Green. I don't mind giving out the URL through a PM. BTW...anyone who posts on that board is also free to post the URL here....

I blame the fact that some evil spirit placed an invisible cap on the Mean Green's rim...darn those invisible evil spirits...they lurk everywhere....

REFEREE UPDATE...I have just been told that JACOB HOLMEN has agreed to help by being a referee for our game! Since Jacob is still a Junior and has a year of eligibility left I am going to have to check to make certain he can ref for us...everyone playing and setting up the game are considered "Boosters" under NCAA rules, so we don't want to do ANYTHING that might have a negative effect on Jacob. Great that he is OK with helping us, and I hope it's OK, but will definitely check....

Best season attendance figures in many years for both football and basketball this year! That's some good news and something to build upon. We can "discuss" the merits of how these figures were obtained, but it is what it is...and the Mean green nation can be proud of seeing this progress! Thanks to all the alums, fans, students, etc. who helped make this happen for UNT. Good things are indeed, happening for UNT and the Mean Green these days... Hey, I'll bet that Women's BB attendance figures are up significantly as well...does anyone have the numbers on that?

Hey, I get that everyone is frustrated about how the men's game went tonight, but what about that nice win by the ladies? They really took the game away from LaLa tonight and sealed a really nice win against a pretty darn good team when they needed a win in the worst way. The ladies really show grit and hustle tonight...Stanley was over the top good in stretches tonight. And, how about Coach Aston after the game talking to the crowd? Classy lady...the Mean green nation is in for some really good women's basketball in the years to come. Get ready for it and as T.O. might say..."get your popcorn ready". Tonight said something and it said...don't count this team out in Hot Springs. They can catch lightning in a bottle with the way they can hustle and play. Do that consistently in Hot Springs and you just never know who might be wearing the Sunbelt Tourney crown when all is said and done. Fun to watch tonight ladies...thanks seniors! WELL DONE!

Hey, I noticed we are up to $75 in our PayPal account...rumor has it that smoothfresh added one of the $25 donations...if so, thanks smoothfresh...much appreciate the help and the support for the Cheer Squad. I do not have access to the PayPal site so I have no way of knowing unless some "birdie" tells me...so, just in case you were wondering...that PayPal site is maintained by harry, and we all know he handles things properly...so fear not...it isn't me...if you had any fear in the first place. ha! Thanks to all...getting a tad closer to that $500 PayPal goal.....keep it comin' folks...BTW...got another check in the mail today for $20...way cool. Thanks...

OK, fella, you might just be gaining a few head for your herd here lately.....

Pretty classy...thanks Tony...see you in Hot Springs.

If there is ever a need for a teaching moment for coaches everywhere of what a game looks like when a team BEATS ITSELF this would make a good one... 13 free throws missed...hit a few of those and the game is in the win column Turnover after turnover Fouls early and often...TM sits at least 5 crucial min. in the 1st half due to foul trouble....foul after foul...and some were just pretty poor decisions.... Really what else is there to say...just a pretty bad night for the men when they had a chance to win it....Sad for the seniors...those guys have been playing their hearts out, but alas tonight was not to be.... As much as the game was a downer, I had a great time watching both the men and the women...seeing the nice crowd, and chatting with several members of the great Mean Green Nation. Keep the faith...see you in HOT SPRINGS!

WE HAVE OUR TWO COACHES FOR THE GAME... EMMITT01 and unt88 Let the draft lobbying begin...we'll set up a time through the GMG.Com board for the player draft...so, anyone interested can "tune in" and watch the draft "live"...maybe we can get ESPN to televise it! IT IS that significant, right? Thanks to both Emmitt01 and unt88 for stepping up and agreeing to be our coaches this year....much appreciated. Still time to sign up folks and we can use more players...don't want to run a few of the "old war horses" we have down as they try to catch up to ECHO and lil b....... This is going to be fun..several silent auction items have been pledged and promised as well...so get those bids ready!!! Fun day ahead... We have two referees as well...Raquel Cuffie and Troy Kokjohn...more to follow.....thanks Raquel for returning for year two and thanks to Troy for venturing out for his first referee job....you are both very much appreciated! Hey, folks...don't know how many games left on the schedule, but Raquel is playing this year for the TWU Pioneers...if you get a chance...venture over to TWU and catch Raquel in action...if it's not already too late!

The Mexican drug lords thank you for helping them reach full employemnt and helping to keep them in business. -
May God help you if you are out there past the 1PM tip-off for Coach Aston's game....how could you even think of being so dismissive to Coach Aston and the Ladies? Even to think about it is showing such disrespect for Coach Aston that she will probably pack up and leave after just one year and it will be all your fault! How could you????? OK...for the folks who don't get it...sorry...sarcasm alert and fair warning here...inside joke but I know some folks will definitely "get it". Be sure and take a raincoat or pitch a tent, Thor...it may just be a tad wet for a tailgate. See you at the game!

Many thanks to the person or persons who added the second $25 in donations to the PalPal site in support of the Cheer Squad fund-raising efforts. Thank you...your generous support is very much appreciated. Good to see some new support coming in for these student-athletes...yes, I truly believe our cheer squad members are athletes. Thanks for the support.... Hope you will either play or come watch as the GMG.Com BB Game II kicks off on March 31st.

Hey, just noticed the addition of $25 to our PayPal site in support of the Cheer Squad. Thanks to whomever made that donation. At this time I do not know who the generous person is, but I thank you none the less. Great to see the additional support for the Cheer Squad coming in...very much appreciated. THANK YOU!

That sort of thing on the board is often a mystery to never be explained. Don't worry about it...from someone who takes a lot of -1's (and usually from the same folks), but also gets a fair share of +1's...they generally level out. Trying to figure it out is a losing battle...just roll with it. You'll' never get the answer...so just don't ask. EDIT: See...told ya...for that post I have collected two -1's and I can bet I could tell you where they came from....funny stuff this. I just hope some "friendly" folks hit the +1 a couple of times...fun this, no?

hey, Lonnie...I share your pain...and think how RV must feel. Every fan and every donor....you know the drill. If you deal with the public in a business sense you know how this goes, and if you want to be successful you just have to deal with all the folks who darn sure KNOW they know more about your business and what you can and cannot do than you do than you in spite of your 20+ years experience and in my case my 30+ years in banking before "retiring" to work as CFO for a non-profit. It's a fact of life...I am sure you sit down in your office each Monday morning and try to figure out how you can mess something up that day....or how you can "cheat" some client..or how you can refuse to write insurance for some new possible client or deny a claim. Yep, I woke up every Monday, went to work, called all my loan officers to a meeting and sat around and discussed how we could NOT approve loan applications and how we could run off business that week. Tough to learn the art of turning a loan down yet retaining the clients other banking business. That's what we all do, right? That's what RV does with his staff every Monday morning, right...try to find ways to run clients off? That makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? But, to hear some folks, they must think that's exactly what happens. Good grief...while you must try to let the client "know best" you must do the best if you want to be successful whatever that may be. Every client should be treated with respect...even if they do not show respect to you, but you must take care of business professionally and competently under established guidelines and regulations. Both insurance and banking are HIGHY regulated industries...and that definitely plays a role in what we both could and could not do. My bank had lots of clients who thought they were "god's gift to the finance world"...and we did our best to let them think that...all the while they were pretty misguided and ill informed. Welcome to dealing with the public. Some of the people who think they know everything about YOUR business have never had to deal with the public at all. It's a new day every day...and a fun one...when you must deal with the public. Don't believe me? Ask a waiter, ask a retail clerk, as a banker or an insurance guy...or someone that works in a college/university's athletic department for that matter. Good luck to them all.....

Ask someone else...I have no desire in helping increase viewership much less membership in that board. Sorry. I wouldn't have know myself had I not been alerted to all the kind things that were being posted about the Kram-ster. Venture over at your own peril..... OR PM Me....

Posted twice...well worth posting three times...I gave you 2 +1's for that, sir. Too funny! I agree 100%.

Well, for one thing it helps the rest of the taxpaying public to not to have to support you in a vegetative state as you lay in a hospital bed with injuries for the rest of your life that could have been prevented had you been wearing a seat belt...or a motorcycle helmet for that matter...just from a purely economic standpoint that is.....lots of other reasons, but since the logic of the seat belt law seems to escape you, I thought I'd add one that maybe you had never considered. If you want to up your chances of being killed or very seriously inured in a traffic accident, so be it...you make your own choices, just don't expect the taxpayers to bail you out......even if you have insurance, lots of the coverage is woefully inadequate to cover the long term care necessary from such situations. Just ask any family experiencing such a situation if you think I am off the ball here.....some folks know that reality up close and personal. -
PRICELESS... +1 for you, Sir. I had the privilege of congratulating RV in person last evening in the Mean green Room before the UL-M blowout! And, no, "Infidel" I did not kiss his rear end, I just shook his had...a grown man sort of thing to do!
-
Nope...all public....grumpy old man board.
-
It's on the "grumpy old man board" that these guys set up thinking no one would know who they were as they constantly bashed all that is the athletic department at UNT (and supposedly for actual sports talk about UNT)...and you can throw me into that mix as a target for their whining and complaining. Why I am that important to them is beyond me...but, I'll take it as a compliment ...a backhanded one for sure, but a compliment. Venture over there at your own risk...I've "visited" a couple of times after being alerted to the postings...lots of so-called grown men calling people names my 2 year old grandson might try out in a temper tantrum when Dad took a toy away or something. Priceless stuff if you are in to comedy. You will instantly recognize GoodCaws, the Infidel, TennisHack, etc. Hard to miss....(I may have the names misspelled, but you will know them immediately if you dare to venture over even as a guest). It's a public forum so I am not divulging anything here that isn't public. Since I support the extension for RV, the latest was a post asking me how RV's ass smelled or something like that...very mature, wouldn't you say? Interesting thing is...I like these guys and they have been very big UNT supporters over the years...why they choose to do what they do is their business, but I'll always appreciate their contributions to UNT Athletics.
