Well, if I am incorrect about number of donors, I stand corrected, but if I am so are two members of the Texas State Legislature that were very specific in a talk before several Alumni members recently. I'll not name the two Texas Legislators here, but I was not alone in hearing these comments directly from the "horse's mouth" as they say. They both mentioned that "numbers of donors count as well as total dollars and that alumni membership numbers were very important...and that alumni memberships count as donors. If I am incorrect then so our two of our very prominent Texas State Legislators. I have been wrong before, will be again I am sure. Appreciate your feedback. No matter the deal....numbers count and they count big in what UNT is trying to accomplish. If you want to help, join the Alumni Association, join the Mean green Club, give to your department, your college or two any of the numerous scholarships that UNT handles each and every year...every dollar and every donor counts.

This is an area of emphasis for UNT in it's march to Tier One status. It's an area of need and lots right now is being done to focus on just this very area. UNT should be "moving up" this ladder in the very near future...that's why ever donor and every dollar counts. It's not just the amount it's the NUMBER of donors who count as well. In the "numbers count" a $25 annual donor counts the same as a $1,000,000+ donor. Did you know that by joining the UNT Alumni Association that you are considered a donor for Tier One purposes? Joining the Mean green Club counts as well...as does making a donation to a scholarship at UNT or a department, etc. YOU can help...and you can help in a very meaningful manner...and you don't have to be rich to do so! Worth thinking about.

UNT 90 Grad, untcampbell, meangreen2018, medpilot21 and Army2012 GREAT to have you guys "in" for 2012. Should really be great....appreciate the support...as always. UNT 90 Grad - No link to the rules as yet...if I have time I'll get one up...if not, rules will be available on game day. I'll check to see what i have.... Last year we used the entire field at Fouts...100 yards of it....I'm thinking we should do the same this time as it should be much cooler and I am hopeful we will have plenty of players. Thoughts? Obama calls a GAAP long-standing accepted practice a "Tax loophole" and then goes out of his way to try to convince folks that he is not anti-business? What turnip truck does he think everyone except the mainstream media (who have not so much as mentioned this abomination of a proposal) fell off of recently? The guy is absolutely CLUELESS! Hopefully, this is Obama simply pandering to his base one again and it will be dead before it sees the light of day!

Funny! You may be on to something there! When I worked the phones this last Tuesday I did have one person authorize a 10% increase in their Mean Green Club donation specifically for baseball and two others discuss additional donations to help with baseball as soon as an "official" word comes out that baseball is being added. Some folks you can count on to take action....others you can count on to talk big until it's time to take action and then pretty much disappear. But, that's the way it goes often these days...some folks do, others complain that someone else isn't doing enough.

Got you down for a repeat performance....thanks...will be great to have you again....the time of the game probably makes it OK for the Master of the house to be on hand to see Dad play, right? Lucas can get his first touch of the Apogee turf!

I have no idea about this year's cost structure. We will all know the answer to that question when the packages hit our mailboxes. I am also certain that there will be plenty of "chatter" about it which ever way it goes. One thing I would like to remind everyone...with a limited budget and increasing expenses the Athletic Dept. does need as much revenue as possible...but this could work the way it works when taxes are raised...one actually gets reduced tax revenues instead of increases...I hope the Athletic Dept. personnel understand that concept better than some of our politicians. Just sayin......

A joint report recently issued by the White House and the Department of the Treasury entitled "The President's Framework for Business Tax Reform" on page nine mentions... "Specifically, the President's Framework would:" "Eliminate "last in first out" accounting....." OK, for my accountant and business friends out there WOW! SIMPLY WOW! Do you realize how many businesses count on and use LIFO as a protection against false inflated profits" as regards to their inventories? Just think how this would effect the distilleries for instance....when the product is barrelled, it has a very low value...when it is bottled and sold...say after 25 years...that value is much greater, but it really is not profit at all....eliminate LIFO and BINGO..."false profit" for the government tax coffers! You have got to be kidding me!!!! This just coming as the US will soon get to yell...We're #1, we're #1...and in this case it will be a very dubious #1 indeed. The US will soon become the world's #1 nation in respect to corporate taxes...the US will lead the world with the highest corporate tax structure of any nation...just as soon a s Japan (who help that lovely distinction with the US at #2) puts into place its recent corporate tax reduction plan. Why, simple...Japan wants to increase corporate tax revenues so they decrease the corporate tax rate. Easy...watch Japan's corporate tax revenues grow and watch the US's decline... OK, accounting types...what about this LIFO thing? I am about to have a heart attack? I cannot imagine this actually seeing the light of day. Tell me this proposal is DOA! PLEASE! Good grief...even for Obama this is really "out there"! Obama seems to think LIFO is a "corporate tax loophole".....as this is in his "Framework for reform" for corporate taxation where he wants to close the "loopholes" while he reduces the overall rate...yea, right! Amazing stuff...and, before the libs who think this info comes from some right-leaning think tank...it comes directly from the WHITE HOUSE and the Dept. of the Treasury! WOW...just WOW! I need a glass of beer and a nap!

AGREE with GrandGreen on both his points. Now, that being said...these are a couple of VERY nice signings for the Mean green. If either can step right in to the line-up (maybe both?) it would be great, but even if they come off the bench, the Mean green bench is going to be pretty darn good and pretty darn deep. Coach Aston is doing a great job building a team around her style of play and coaching. Cannot wait to see the ladies take the conference crown and tournament crown as well next season...it could VERY WELL happen!

Hey, just heard that our football season ticket renewal packages may be in the mail early this year...perhaps as early as late this month (March) or early next month (April). For me, that's very good news. Looking forward to seeing the package and renewing my season tickets for another great season of Mean green Football! I do hope it's so and the packages will be in the mail soon.....anything Mean Green football related is good, right?

Just needed to mention that the PLAYER SIGN-UP DEADLINE IS 4PM on FRIDAY, APRIL 6TH! Yes, that is quick, but it has to be to get everything done and ready before the game on April 21st at 10:00AM. I realize that might push some folks with a decision, but you know this year's event is just going to be GREATNESS as it will be help before the spring game and at APOGEE! So, get those calendars out, check your schedules and let's get this thing on! Please post in the pinned thread regarding your playing status or any other comments/details and PM me if you can help organize and administer this thing this year...I'll definitely need some help...and if you can donate any item for the silent auction, if you want to buy an ad for the game day brochure, etc., etc. HELP...HELP!!!!!! OK, here's an idea....since the libs and dems want to tax the top 1% more and they think that is so fair...and since the Occupy Wall Street folks in NYC have just reported that they are fast running out of money (even after the large infusion of cash from the Unions)...just have the Occupy Wall Street folks determine who the richest 1% of their quickly fading population nationwide is and TAX THEM to keep the thing going! WOW...novel concept here...they want to tax the top 1% in greater amounts (even though they already pay more in one year than probably any Occupy guru ever has over their lifetime...so use that concept and tax yourselves...the Top 1% that is.....Fair deal, right? OK, not original by me...I believe this was Rush's (yes, THAT Rush) line this morning as I was listening to 820 on the radio this morning during my early morning drive in to work. Not a big Rush fan AT ALL, but loved this little snippet from him this morning.....bring on those taxes Occupiers!
