  1. LSA vs Mr Frosty...well, really two entirely different experiences. One (LSA) is more of a sit down tad more expensive burger place. The other (Mr Frosty) is the old style drive-in burger experience. Both are excellent choices, but very different choices. That being said, we have found the burger quality to have dipped a bit at LSA. Not nearly as juicy and flavorful as when they first opened and the slaw...originally so very good...seems not as tasty as originally served. Maybe it is just us...the view of the courthouse at night from the upper patio is still a “must experience”...especially at night...for any out of town visitor or local who has not, as yet, experienced it. Can’t go wrong with either spot in my opinion...just totally different styles and experiences.
  2. GREAT idea! Reaching out to faculty and staff is an excellent way to help create good feelings between athletics and the campus-wide community as well as possibly getting a few more rears in the seats. I like! Thumbs up to Wren and crew.
  3. This is going to be helpful to the overall program in many ways...it looks great!
  4. Dude can't seem to find a home...first Arkansas, then SMU and now Florida Atlantic. I hope he has finally found a "home".
  5. Maybe Urban Meyer can join him in Italy after it all shakes out in Ohio.
  6. Pretty OK pre-season rankings...Rice is good ya'll. I know some here don't follow soccer that closely, but really, Rice is good. Can the Mean Green win the conference over Rice? In my opinion...yes. But, the post-season tournament is the biggie for the NCAA's. Here's hoping the Mean Green cam win 'em both and go at least a round or two in the NCAA's this season. NEVER ever count out the Mean Green.
  7. Winner....agree completely. Nothing better than the Chronicle and Morning News and a cup of coffee in the morning. Well, something was better, but that was when I was younger and before prostate cancer hormone treatments. 😂😂😂
  8. Does not look good at this point. Just hope Ohio State investigates quickly and openly and does not emulate Baylor.
  9. Well....gee thanks Harry...for posting that when he was scoring against Okie State. I forgave Seth for attending ZeroU...I blame his father for corrupting him...but darn man..this one????? 😂😂😂
  10. Would have been easier for all to hear if the folks in the back would have been polite enough to STFU while all the coaches were talking. Now..that being said, I was just happy they came...lame manners or not...the crowd was great and I saw lots of new and old Mean Green fans and GMG.Com-ers. It was tons of fun, and those actually wanting to hear the coaches just had to move up front a bit. Loved the venue and the Boca catering. Just need to add speakers and to position the speakers a tad better so everyone could hear better. Fun time with the Mean Green Nation. Now...BEAT SMU and fill Apogee!
  11. Going back and reading this thread now makes for some interesting reading. UNT is ranked #1 in CUSA and, what, 54th in the nation in recruiting at the current time. Sometimes it takes a guy a bit to get his recruiters and recruiting system in place after taking over a program that had a difficult time even spelling “recruiting”. Anyway, the worm seems to have turned and UNT seems to be a program heading in a very positive direction. Still, in the end it is only about two letters, not recruiting star rankings. Those two letters being “W and L”. I am thinking UNT sees a lot more “W’s” than “L’s” these days.
  12. I am very happy for him and I wish him well. I have always thought of him as a very good assistant coach.
  13. Those sort of little "surprises" really burn me! Add the darn thing in the amount quoted. People should be aware of the FULL cost of whatever they are purchasing. I am seeing more and more of this stuff. One of the newspapers I subscribe to...yes, I still subscribe to newspapers..added a $3.00 fee for me to send them a check in payment. Nope...not going to pay more just to be able to p[ay you! Gave them a call...they said they could not eliminate that fee...but, they reduced the cost of my subscription by $3.00 per billing period. One reason I dislike Ticketmaster so much....always those stupid "fees". Have you checked your cell phone bill lately? Those folks seem to be the kings of "fees". Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  14. Well, we could change the law and eliminate anchor-babies. That might just slow some illegal immigration and up the number seeking legal immigration. Seems humane as well. No more instant citizenship for children born to those in the country illegally. Seems it might work to decrease several areas of immigration angst. Just a thought. Would also be interesting to watch the “debate” in D.C. should someone dare to even propose such legislation. Can you even imagine the amount of name-calling in press conferences and Op-Ed’s even proposing such a change would create? How many times could someone be called racist, Nazi, heart-less, anti-family, anti-children, etc. We could start a poll.
  15. How about we just get officials in the first place instead of the Keystone Cops?????
  16. Great get for the Mean Green. Let's hang on and get that signature during the Dec. early signing period. The Mean Green are certainly on an upward trajectory in recruiting these days. Be still my heart!
  17. If you can afford Hub Club seats...you can afford to buy your own swag! Just kidding....but, seriously...don't think they have a Scrappy Club tee in your size!
  18. It already states that they get a t-shirt, so no idea what the dawg bags might contain. I would imagine all kids get the same swag bags...be they in our out of town kiddos.
  19. Just read in the Norfolk, VA paper that 7 ft. center and former Providence player, Dajour Dickens, will transfer to ODU. He was rated the No. 124 player in the Class of 2017 by Rivals.com. He redshirted his freshman year....so lost no eligibility I guess. ODU will seek a waiver allowing Dickens to play this season. He becomes the second 7 ft player added to ODU’s squad in the last six weeks. Elbert Robinson, a 7-1 grad transfer from LSU was previously added. ODU also has two 6-8 players in Joe Reece and Kalu Ezikpe. Yikes! These guys are going to be tall!
  20. Yes...it exists...now called “Scrappy Squad Kids Club”.
  21. As Newman will go down in UNT athletic history as one of the worst B.B. coaches UNT has ever hired.
  22. My experience with this sort of “all you can eat” thing is that there are always those who take advantage of the situation. People “share” food with “guests” or take way way more than they can possibly (or should) eat which leads to waste. Ever see the waste on cruise ship buffet lines? Full plates being dumped into the trash is very common. I much prefer lower pricing so more folks will actually purchase concession items. I like the $4/domestic beer thing, the $1.00 hot dog, the $1.00 popcorn, $1.00 sodas, etc. Concessions would still profit per item (albeit a tad less), but folks would purchase more, but consume what they purchase for the most part as they “paid” for each item. Anyway...just me. I hate that stadiums generally price items so high...paid $9 for a beer recently at a minor league ballpark no less. Only bought one...probably would have purchased three for the game if priced at $4.00....yes draft beer so their cost was pretty low per unit. Plus, by not heading back to the concession stand for another beer, they missed out on “opportunity add-on sales” when I next visited the concession stands. But, that’s just me. To each his own.
