OUCH...all the best, guys for a speedy and complete recovery. Looks like an opportunity for a few folks to step up and show what they can do...big losses...hopefully they'll be back quickly. But, I too, thought a torn pec was a season-ender. maybe it's not "that bad"? Don't know...not a Doc so will wait, see and hope for the best. So, who will grab this opportunity and step up? Like it has been said many times to backups in all sports...you are just one play away from moving up and getting an opportunity...be prepared...be ready and seize the day! Well, it's something like that, but you get the drift, right?

But, like trussbussdad, player parents can usually get in....why not ask your son, trussbussdad...I'm guessing he will have the schedule, right?
-
OldTimer...don't just "travel through". Stop and spend awhile...spend some money...visit UNT....check out Apogee and watch a little practice...if you senak up on them, you can actually grab a quick look or two! HeHe.

It's football, it's early, it's training camp...stuff happens. Relax....enjoy the ride.

Pony Excess on Netflix streaming if you missed it
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Why in the world are you watching SMU football documentary work????? I lived through the Poney Express and all that followed. It sucked then, it sucks now! It's SMU!! Ha! -
Yes, a "tradition" that shows absolutely ZERO class and one I hope goes away very quickly. Stormchaser, how about you being one to help send it to the trash bin where it belongs? Stuff like that is what helps some folks think poorly about UNT and the Mean Green and does not help. Edit: has nothing to do with age, has everything to do with class and respect.

Of course not...certainly not. Thanks for going back a re-reading the post.

Unlike perhaps a few braggers...I was always taught that if you had to brag about it...you didn't do it. Just sayin........ If the glove doesn't fit...you can't convict!!!!

By the way...and just for your info Emmitt as it might impact some other potential volunteers as well...there is a VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE that Friday and Saturday hosted by President Rawlins that I have agreed to attend...it starts Friday and runs up to game time with the game being part of the conference activities. So...that Friday and Saturday I will be otherwise involved with the Volunteer Leadership Conference that I have been invited to attend. But, I can help in may ways...just let me know...before that actual weekend. There may be others here that are in the same boat as me with the Leadership Conference thing. I am thinking the conference may have something to do with the big fund-raising campaign that UNT is going public with in September. Nice to be invited, but I am thinking they will be asking for more of my "time" and what "treasure" they think I might have...what do you think? Ha!

Emmitt...you know I'll help you with this project...just let me know where and when...I'll be there...happy to do all I can to help out. But, also agree that the Athletic dept. needs to bless this plan or we really will not get very far..... I'm in...let me know. I can help with suggestions and ideas later...right now...I'm in...I'm labor and I take directions well.

Just a follow-up...SLIDE SHOW JOE went by the Athletic dept and picked up a few more posters and went out a second time to get even more displayed. Thanks, Emmitt and Slide Show Joe for helping on two days with this project. ALSO...I was attending a "going away" function on campus (Actually in the Club level at Apogee) for a Development Director that is leaving UNT for a position at Trinity College in San Antonio...and several of the Foundation/Development Board Members were also in attendance...so it was a campus-wide and community attended event...one gentleman came over to me and said he knew about our poster project and just wanted to tell me how great it was that we did that and he thanked me for everyone who participated. This is a good-size UNT donor and a person I consider a UNT VIP along with his wife. So, the word is out in various areas of campus and the UNT family that some UNT supporters took the time to try to do something positive and to help. So, to all who volunteered, I pass those sincere "Thanks" on to you....it made me feel good to know that some folks...who a supporters of UNT...noticed and were grateful for our efforts. So, once again...thanks to all...what you did was noticed and to those that actually care, it mattered.

The Chick-Fil-A controversy
KRAM1 replied to GreenBat's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
IN NO WAY AM I REFERRING TO YOU! Sorry....I am A-OK with whatever you believe. It's your belief, right? That is...as long as it's OK for me to believe what I want to believe and state my opinions just like everyone else...including you. But, really...no way was I referring to you...frankly, some of your posts are so long i just don't have time to wade through them all the way...love your enthusiasm, so keep it up...especially like your support for the Mean Green and UNT...we need plenty more students just like you! -
The Chick-Fil-A controversy

If only some folks on the board would take their own advice. -
One of the challenges UNT has had in the past was the lack of quality facilities. That notion still exists within the general HS population. It is extremely important to get potential players and their families on the UNT campus so they can see the great facilities UNT now has. These are one evening events...it's not time for "girl watching or chasing"...but they do have some Cheer Squad members and I think dance team members show up...that's plenty good right there, yes? Kids want to play in great facilities in front of great crowds...UNT has the facilities, and is working on the crowds....

And, here we have the typical UNT fan response to just about everything......."let someone else do it". Seems Mr. Kuehne is doing quite a lot already...how about some others stepping up to simply join the Mean Green Club and be part of the solution instead of always waiting for someone else to do it...and then complain about what that other person does or how they do it. It does not matter how much, but rather it matters simply "if". Just a note here: I am not in any way pointing any fingers at mean green D here as I have no clue...nor should I have a clue as it is none of my business...how much or if mean green D donates...my response is just a general response to the many many so-called Mean green fans who make this their mantra..."let someone else do it while I complain, make make negative comments about those who do and while I sit on the sidelines on my rear end making up every lame excuse in the world why I don't help." EDIT: Just as an example ...I had several people tell me in emails, on the phone or in person that they would join the Mean Green Club during this year's Mean Green Club Volunteer Rep Campaign period only to have them not do so......yep, "let someone else do it".....

OK, let's set the record straight here on the Mean Green Room before basketball games...minimum donation to the Mean Green Club: $500 and it's $10 a person I believe, not $5. Someone out there with a better memory, please do correct me if I am wrong. It was $5 some years ago, but things cost more now...I a good with the cost...it's still a great bargain and a big benefit as far as I am concerned for my Mean green Club donation...besides, my bride and I can drink enough beer and eat enough good food to make it a great deal for us! Dinner, Beer and a game...DATE NIGHT!

OK...time for everyone to just have a beer, or two, and just calm down. Beer is good and the actual proof that God loves us all. -
It was mentioned at the Mean green Club Volunteer rep Banquet recently by RV himself that the basketball practice facility is a "go" and on track. Couldn't recall whether he said it would be ready to use in 6 months or that the construction would start in 6 mo. If it is, indeed, a re-do of a Mean green village facility...it might just be ready to go in 6 months. This whole thing is really great and another facilities home run by RV and Company.

Grant...seriously, i recall there being a nice breeze and that it wasn't all that hot in the concourse...considering, of course, that it was in August in Texas. Ok, yes, it was warm, but certainly much more bearable than the days when it was held more outside!
