  1. Way to stir up the trolls Flyer!
  2. I can read and I did...I still ask...what world or alternative universe...because even with the IF some folks would still complain. I think you missed the point.
  3. What world or alternative universe are you living in these days????? We have Mean Green so-called fans who can find something to complain about at every turn.....wrinkled $100 bills and all.
  4. You can count on my support...I'm a buyer! See you at the game...I'll have money in hand.
  5. You might find a better answer by calling the athletic department. I wish i could help you out with this, but just can't. Right now, I don't even know where my parking spot will be as I understand they get reassigned based on priority points. I hope I get the same spot i had last season, but if not, it will be workable....
  6. Don't try! Like UNT 90 Grad said above...we need many more supporters just like you!
  7. Anyone want to guess what a SEC team wants in the way of guaranteed money to play at Apogee? Well, it's in the $250,000-$300,000 range. Pretty big risk when the fans have not shown the willingness to buy season tickets, join the Mean green Club or to fill Apogee. Sure, some will say...well, schedule that SEC team and "we will come". Me, if I am AD I don't do that for a one-off game to satisfy the "bandwagon" folks and get them to one one and done never to be seen again. cannot build a program on those level of "fans"...and UNT seems to have plenty that fit that bill. UNT needs folks like TCU has that will come out and fill the stadium even for a TSU. Cannot build a program with fans "who know everything" yet won't buy tickets or donate to the program unless a long list of "pure stuff" takes place first. RV said last night, for the folks attending the Kickoff-Cookout, that he wasn't thrilled with the schedule this year either and that we won't see that again....really nice of him to talk about that and acknowledge the situation to those in attendance. Did hear from a source that UNT was trying to schedule several opponents for this year at Apogee, but conference realignment issues and money issues came into play that hurt in several instances. I'll take his word for that...I do know that schedules...made years in advance, do have a way of changing as the actual dates get closer.....the fans who care will get through this season's schedule showing their support for the Mean Green and look forward to "bigger and better" in year's to come...bottom line...even TCU schedule such as Grambling and they can fill the stadium...the sky is not falling over the Mean Green nation.
  8. If TSU has a 4% graduation rate...just how does the Legislature allow it to stay open?
  9. There was a thread dedicated to the cookout that gave all the pertinant info several weeks ahead of time right here on GMG.Com. Really sorry you didn't see that.
  10. Hey, have you seen Harry's spread of photos in the gallery here on GMG.Com with the Tailgating on the Hill title? I might point out that it's Harry we may need to saving up bail money for these days...KRAM took none of those...just sayin......
  11. Had a GREAT time at the Cookout last night! But, then always have a good time at UNT events...I guess I go with the attitude that it will be fun instead of going to look for something I can complain about. Met some new folks and new Mean green fans that I had not had the privilege of meeting before. One mentioned that he had heard about the poster event and was impressed that UNT had the sort of fans that would do this sort of thing voluntarily for the program. So, once more...to all who helped with that project...many thanks and your efforts are obviously not going un-noticed! I thought the idea to move it to the Club Level was not so cool at first, but when the talks by RV and Coach mac started...at the announced time I might add...I thought it was a great idea. Really easy to hear and the crowd looked really nice filling up most of the Club level area...even in that weather. mac was his usual energetic self and RV made some comments regarding future schedules and joining conference USA that I thought were excellent. One comment that had me laughing to myself the rest of the evening was the fact that TCU is playing Grambling at home this year! I did not know that and it just made me laugh knowing all the comments that have been made about UNT opening with Texas Southern. Made my event...well, that and all the great Mean green fans I saw and talked with. Got to chat with some players and coaches including Mike Petersen, our new women's basketball coach. Saw Mean green fans there from Tyler, Allen, Ennis, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Dallas, Ft. Worth, etc. who braved the weather to make the event. Heck, lots of Mean green fans there with kiddos...even so small that they still ride in strollers...good to see you Lucas! I hope they enjoyed the evening as much as my bride and I did. Even my bride, not one to love such events as much as I do, talked about how much she enjoyed this one...that's in spite of the fact that the Pope never did make an appearance (sorry...some will get that comments, others not so much). But, I'll take Mac, RV and Mike anytime! Overall...a great way to spend a rainy Saturday evening in Denton. My sincere appreciation to all who braved the elements and made their way to Apogee last evening...if anyone sees the Pope tell him he missed a great evening! Thanks to RV and Company for another fun evening with the Mean Green Nation!
  12. Yep...let's just hope that Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream isn't sold on campus if the Chick-Fil-A thing gets any headway going with the administration. I mean...those guys are so left wing that conservative students certainly don't want their university supporting such left-wing causes as those that Ben & Jerry's gives money to these days!!!!! I mean...come on...... Let's see conservative students don't like the causes Ben & Jerry's support so they just don't buy the ice cream and let those who do go about their merry way.....LGBT students don't like what the president of Chick-fil-A says about marriage and it's a major deal and Chick-fil-A must go!!!! I think I spot a trend here with the oh-so tolerant let me pat myself on the back liberal tolerant folks.... It just get nuttier and nuttier every day with these folks......Man, the Blue Bell folks and the Chicken Express folks just better mum up...let's not have any problems there...life would not be good if something happened with these two.....
  13. Always amazes me what some of these kids will do...what in the Sam Hill was he thinking? Just how stupid can one be? OK, I'll answer my own question...pretty darn stupid. See above for case in point!
  14. Great looking "ride" GreenP1...well done! Are you going to ride it to the Kick-off Cookout this afternoon? Would love to see that mean machine "up close and personal".
  15. Oh, no...no photos...no touching.......MeanGreenTexan...just what's creepy...the co-eds? I didn't think you were "THAT" kind of guy!!!!!
  16. I'll take the co-eds in the tight white oxford shirts, mini-skirts and cowboy boots walking around the tailgate area before the games. I know it will be tough, but I'll try to find some time to see how they are doing...tough that it might be, and I'll report back....those are the real "players" that come out on game day! And, this because "you know who" beat me to the punch in selecting this year's deep snapper as my adopted player. That's what being late to the party will get you!
  17. We can and will lump all Yankees into the same West Nile mosquito infested muck pool...thank you very much Mr. Connecticut, Sir!!!!! It's where all Yankees belong! But, I can forgive you both as you have seen the light for at least a bit and matriculated at UNT! So, you can come out of the mosquito pool...but watch yourself. You can go right back in....just sayin....
  18. As are the majority of these things...remember the recent bird flu scare....much ado about a little...and one can easily avoid the vast majority of areas and times of the day when these little buggers can get after you...some easily taken care of precautions and good to go. Yes, it can be a problem and I am in no way trying to make light of the danger, but as is the case most of the time, lots of folks like to make things much much bigger deals than they are...note Adman's very sane and factual post!
  19. Well, could be...but what more likely led to her dismissal was her complete arrogance and lack of leadership skills suited for the university environment. I doubt Rawlins would get caught up in such an ego struggle with his boss. I sure hope not at least. Dr. Rawlins, in my opinion, has done some very good things so far in his short tenure at UNT. I hope he stays a good bit longer. Am still super excited and happy that Batille is gone. UNT traded up...WAY UP!
  20. Well...as strange as that "breakdancing was"...it's way better than i could do...and they both looked to having a good time...great to see this...thanks GreenBat. It should be fun to be an athlete at UNT...you go ladies!
  21. Those look really professionally done...no way on earth I could have done anywhere near this nice a job. I applaud your work, Sir. Way cool!
  22. To be safe...Boosters...and that includes any member of the Mean green Club, any season ticket holder, anyone who donates to the athletic program, etc. in the strictest sense of the definition...should probably shy away from offerening any UNT athlete any food, drink, etc. unless authorized to do so by Athletic dept. personnel. While i doubt the NCAA would pounce on UNT 90 Grad's offer of a brat at a tailgate as Thompson just passed through the area on the way elsewhere, it does open the door to questions. In all of these cases and questions, it's probably better to be safe than sorry. And, yes, the rules the NCAA selectively enforces are pretty inane at times. But, most grew out of situations where folks were taking advantage of a situation. Isn't that they way it usually happens?
  23. Tragic...very sad. May his family and friends find comfort in all the good times they shared, and may God grant his family peace. The Mean Green nation has suffered a big loss...I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.
  24. Are you kidding...Heaven help anyone looking for any sort of Mean Green Info on this whole board! Ha! You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!!!!
  25. I really gald you did as well...so is my bride!
