LSA Burger vs Mr. Frosty

Just curious...how does a hostess having an I-Pad convey "We're exclusive and you're old" to you? Just curious as I have never given it much thought. -
DRC: UNT source confirms Miller headed to NMSU
KRAM1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Not any longer. -
Thank you Jim McNatt! You are making a positive difference at UNT.

Is your friend coming to the game? Is so, he will probably be one of the usual 50 or so SMU fans that can manage that "long long trek all the way up I-35" to support their team. Beat SMUt!

Welcome home Mean Green!

Prior to the game there will be a ribbon cutting for the expansion section of the Pavilion provided for by members of the UNT Diamond Eagles. All Diamond Eagle members are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony. And, unfortunately, as has been earlier reported, no cover on the expansion area this season. The bids came in way way above budget for that addition. But, the Alumni Association is looking at ways to reduce the cost and add some sort of covering for future years.

DRC: UNT to unveil statue of Greene this fall
KRAM1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Excellent News! Another step in the right direction for the Mean Green program. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! -
While the death penalty may well be most justified in Baylor’s case, I seriously doubt a school will ever again be given the death penalty. Why? Because of the way SMU was “killed” for years after they were reinstated. I think the NCAA does not have the guts to do that to any school ever again. As an example...I give you Penn State. May not be right, but I just don’t think the NCAA has it in them to actually hand down another death penalty. They have seen what it does to a school...not only on the field, but in enrollment numbers and donation dollars. Sad, but I think Baylor avoids the so-called death penalty. Why so-called? Well, SMUt lives, right? They should re-name it the “time out” penalty.

Sonny Dykes pre-UNT Radio show link with Dick Hicks
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Thought Sonny was fairly complimentary toward the Mean Green overall. One would expect as such, and probably the same from Seth, allowing they like each other so much. By the way...first Coaches Radio Show tonight (8/28) at 7:00pm...coming to you once again from Rudy's in Denton. Come join the Mean Green folks in attendance if you can make it tonight. BTW...that "It's Always Sonny on the Hilltop" is pretty darn weak! Beat SMU!!!!- 8 replies

Does your spouse or significant other support your UNT habit?
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes, she 100% supports my Mean Green obsession. In fact, she thinks it is the best “baby sitter” ever! 😂😂😂 -
Does your spouse or significant other support your UNT habit?

Ding ding ding...we have a winner!!! -
Does seem odd to me. UNT to JUCO without a grade or discipline issue??? I do with him well and hope he finds a scholly if that is why he transferred. Is there no way he could have earned that scholly at UNT? Seems to me a decent punter is worth a scholly. But, I love special teams guys and think they are often under-appreciated at many programs. Hope that isn't the case at UNT.

2018 UNT vs. SMU FB Opener Attendance Predictions
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
9I expect a big crowd...perhaps even the largest ever to attend a UNT game at Apogee. Why? Well, several reasons: 1) Coming off a 9 win season with a western conference crown and a NO Bowl appearance, 2) First game of the season so we should draw a decent student crowd, 3) SMU has a new coach and a few SMUt fans might actually drive "all the way" to Denton to see the first one against UNT' 4) It is Labor Day Weekend...yes, I realize some think that is a downer, but I don't ...it gives families an extra day to enjoy "doing" things together and since Denton/Dallas area schools are back in session, more folks should be staying home over Labor Day weekend' 5) The Athletic Department staff has been working super hard to "recruit" new fans...including UNT Faculty and Staff and local businesses, 6) Several folks have indicated they knew "new" season ticket buyers, 7) The Junior "Mean Green Club" (or whatever its new name is) has signed up a decent number of kiddos who would not want to miss game 1, and 😎 It's SMUt!!!! I know that I am usually one to predict on the "high side" for Mean Green attendance numbers, but I do think there are any number of legit reasons why we might just see record attendance for this game. And folks...PLEASE PLEASE...don't forget to wear green!- 86 replies

LSA Burger vs Mr. Frosty
KRAM1 replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yes, and to my taste they changed to a lower quality and less flavorful patty. Was instantly noticeable. Too bad, but, all in all, still not a bad burger. -
Should have won as there was, as I was told, another UNT goal called back on an off-sides call that may well have been more than a little questionable. I wasn't there as I was on an airplane returning from Virginia at the time, but do think at this stage in the season a 1-1 tie against an SEC team is an OK result. The team is on the young side and these early games against decent opponents will help.

See this right here...this is the whole point. Sure, the competition was sub-par at best, but that is not the point. This team got several extra practices (coupled with the extra practice for the CBI tourney) and several extra games (coupled with the extra CBI games) to help the team mesh as a team earlier and to gain valuable game and practice experience. This trip along with the CBI should set the team up to start this coming season on a high note ready to go from day one. I think folks should seriously consider getting their season tickets as soon as they can as this season has the "makings" of one fun season. Cannot wait to see this team in action. I know several folks here on GMG.Com dropped their season tickets during the Benford years, but, if they remain UNT fans and basketball fans at all, the time is right to think about "coming home" and being part of this. Students are beginning to trickle back in, which always makes for a better game day experience, and the coaching staff is working hard to re-gain fans loyalty. Just think about it. I realize that once one "gets out of the habit of doing something" it is very hard to re-engage in that "something", but this team and this season might just be worth the effort. Can't hurt to at least think about it. A couple of long time fans who "went away" came back last season and bought season tickets again after a few years absent. Their presence was certainly noted and they helped make a positive impact by the fans on the coaching staff and the team. And, I would hazard a strong guess, that they are very pleased that they did return.

Agree with you. What a great “problem” to have. You do recall when we first decided to purchase our seats, we wondered when a wait list might develop. Well, seems we are close to that reality as we speak.
