  1. What????? A dyed in the wool lib is asking that a photo ID be required for something??????? Oh, sure, let's demand a photo ID for a football kick-off event, but let 'em vote without one! Oh, I cannot wait for the next exchange of emails with tylermeangreen! Ha! I just could not resist......huh? Political in a non-political thread? OK.....mea cuplpa...but you have to admit, it was too good to pass up!!!! Give me a break here...it's funny!
  2. But...looks like he applied at Alabama....stat talks about applications...your kid seems to fit right into the stat.
  3. Really nice site...way to go David...job well done! I like!!!!
  4. Interesting little stat in today's Wall Street Journal on Page. D9: 11% "The increase in prospective students forwarding SAT scores for admissions consideration to a given school in the year after it wins a major-college football championship". SOURCE: Jaren C. Pope, Brigham Young University and Devin G. Pope, University of Chicago. OK, think admissions folks at major universities have an interest in how well their football teams do? For those in lala land who hold the opinion that athletics does not help a university overall i would ask them to study the above for just one...of many...reasons why they should support their school's athletic programs. Thought it was an interesting stat...would a CUSA title count? I would argue that YES it would!
  5. The Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association will be hosting a watch party at Fox & Hound in Lewisville I understand the Collin County Chapter of the Alumni Association will be hosting a Watch party at Rudy's...I think the Allen location
  6. Fox & Hounds has been a good partner for us in these vents and folks have asked that we hold these "watch parties" south of the Lake so more people can attend. If you guys want us to keep hosting these south of the Lake, you need to fill up the room for the Watch party. Fox and Hound will not keep reserving rooms for us unless we turn out. So, tell your friends and bring your friends. This should be fun and it's always good to watch these OCC "money games" with like minded folks...well, If you do have an LSU fan buddy or relative...bring them along as the Mean green nation is a welcoming group, right? I'll not make this as I will be out of the country, but Derrick Murray will act as MC for the event and other Denton Chapter Board members will be there to help answer any questions you might have, or to simply act as hosts and hostesses...come on out folks...let's fill this place with MEAN GREEN! GO MEAN GREEN...BEAT LSU!!!!!! Could happen...yes, IT COULD!
  7. Well, I have to be honest here and say that i think "my side" has hit the Trifecta for craziness and loony-ness recently...I give you Akin from Missouri and his recent loony comments, I give you the Congressman from Kansas who decided to skinnydip in the Sea of Galilee and I give you this judge in Lubbock County who thinks the UN is going to invade Lubbock County should Obama get re-elected! In spite of some pretty nutty stuff coming out of Biden and a few others on the Dem side recently, I've got to say, right now...my side is "taking the cake" for nutty comments. But, since there has now been a Trifecta of stupidness, maybe it will stop and shift back to its rightful owners...the Dems!
  8. Great stuff...renewed our basketball season tickets this morning over the phone...cannot wait to see this team in action! It's going to be fun to watch. Here's looking forward to some great crowds as well!!!!!!
  9. Just renewed our season basketball tickets this morning through a call to the Ticket Office. Talked to Kaleb...great service and only took a minute or two to complete! The renewal applications are in the football season ticket packets, so don't miss seeing it in the package...it will probably be in a separate envelope with your name and Mean Green Account Number listed. DUE DATE shows to be Oct. 1st, so that might be the season ticket renewal deadline for those who want to keep their same seat at the Super Pit. Anyway, my bride and I are now set for the great adventure that will be UNT Basketball this year...may even get to see a new video board at the Pit as well as some great Mean Green basketball. Anyway...be on the lookout for that renewal envelope...and give the ticket office a call. I enjoyed talking with Kaleb and getting my renewal completed just this morning.
  10. I'm planning on making this game. Hope the weather holds as there is a chance of rain in the forecast for Sunday at this point. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my schedule opens up enough for me to attend...yes, the ladies deserve a big and loud home crowd Sunday for the home opener!
  11. No wonder you have that "not my president" avatar up these days...I understand...thank you for your service. As a fellow veteran, i agree...I cannot see how a young guy in his 20's could withstand the pressure of being in a regime like that and then disobey an order. I am sure some did, and God bless them for their courage. I can only hope and pray that had I been in a similar situation that i would have had the courage and personal strength to disobey!
  12. Correct...I personally feel discriminated against in some quarters because I like UNT and post positive things about UNT and the Athletic Department! Can I get some federal help here????? I mean, these folks keep mentioning me personally so maybe its part of Stormchaser's point...a man crush or something...a stalker perhaps, but I do feel discriminated against...I need federal protection because I must be some sort of minority, right? I DEMAND MY RIGHTS!!!!! Demand them, I say......I've even been accosted in public...if this isn't discrimination at the highest level, well no justice, no peace...that's what i say!!!! We just must pass some laws to protect my rights!!!! OK, just having a little fun...this thread has probably pretty much played itself out...you think?
  13. Got my tickets today! YIPEEEEEEEEEEE...now, someone tell me where Lot 3 is as I have no clue. Did they rename/number some of the Parking Areas???? Or...are they trying to tell me something and Lot 3 is actually over on Fry Street somewhere????? Tickets look great...and got the basketball season ticket renewal form in the packet with my tickets...that's going back tomorrow...cvan't wait to get those tickets as well. NOW...WHERE IS LOT 3????? Ha! No, seriously......
  14. Be still my heart...didn't think I'd live long enough! Did I really just read a sincere RV did something right Co-sign, indeed! Emmitt...I know this isn't a first for you...and you put your money, time, support and volunteer hours where your mouth is...so you get a pass (most the time) when you get a little on the negative-nilly side. But, i am sure your comments are appreciated.
  15. Really? Who you really trying to kid, yourself?
  16. THIS...YES!
  17. never indicated as such....don't miss the point here...I hope you never do change your view regarding fairness...you will however change you view that you think you are always 100% fair...among many other views you hold as "sacred" right at this point and at being 19. Just do me and yourself a favor...print out these posts and save them...read them again on your 40Th birthday...you'll have tears running down your cheeks you will be laughing so hard! I've been there too...my Dad kept a few of the things written down that i had said to him in my "younger years" and read them back to me...in public...on my 40th birthday...everyone...including me...had a pretty good laugh. My bride still to this day reminds me of a guy i once voted for in a presidential race...thank God the guy didn't eventually win.....yep...time has a way of changing things...don't rush it my young Mean green friend....youth is too much fun to waste on folks rushing through it and not having a good time!
  18. I'm just guessing that you were actually reading between someone else's lines who read between the lines........LOL! Just having a little fun with ya!
  19. It's not your views...it's the fact you are so so sure you are 100% fair in all things....trust me...you will definitely change some of your views on a variety of subjects as you gain experiences...while you claim to be "very experienced" at 19 years old...fact is...you aren't! It's no crime...your 19...enjoy being 19...enjoy every age...as you age you'll understand full well what I am talking about...I've been there done that as have most who are anywhere near my age. Not a put down...just a fact...I didn't believe it either at 19 years old...do now! Enjoy the naivety of youth...it won't last forever, but it sure is fun while it does last.
  20. It just has to be.
  21. Darn...where's spell check when you really need it????
  22. Agree...but you hit the point when you said "if there is actual evidence of war crimes". If not....well, you have a very valid point about some young highly impressionable 20-something year old...probably without much education and what education he had was full of Nazi BS. But, anyone...of any age...who had an actual hand in committing these "crimes against humanity" should be hunted down and prosecuted. Some young 20-something year old assigned to this "duty" and who did not mistreat prisoners...well, you have a point that should be considered. Remember...many high level Nazi's were welcomed to the US with open arms after the war as they had "special skills" that the US could make use of going forward.
  23. It's a shocking reality to me that somehow this thread was not started to say something negative about UNT Athletics! OK, just having some fun with you...I agree with your thoughts on this and echo the fact that I hope society never forgets. It seems there are folks who like to re-write history and deny certain aspects of it as the years pass...let's all hope that never happens in this case. Thanks for posting this.
  24. Indeed...but, let it never be said that given the chance...Mean Green fans won't try to make a mountain out of a molehill when they get the chance. Anyone who really wants to make the games will...the bridge wasn't there last year as we all might recall. Will it be great to have? ABSOLUTELY...would we have liked to have had tit open in time for the first game...ABSOLUTLY. No question, but looks like that's not going to happen. It's a shame and we can all wish that it was not the case....but, not much any of us can do about it. And, in spite of no bridge access, the game will be played and the Mean Green will win! And, my bride and I will have a great time...well, not my bride as she will be in Lisbon...Oh, no...it's the university's fault...the game will not be shown live on TV in Lisbon, Portugal....we must fire everyone in the athletic dept. over this...man, they must all be on vacation or something...how did this happen????? Just kidding......
  25. "Major" universities control TX DOT in Texas? "Houston...we have a problem!"...or in this case Austin...... Agree with you in that it could definitely hurt attendance...but, I'm guessing that you have sway over your tailgate group and will "help" them decide to brave the challenges and still come to the game with you.
