Darn that Alumni Assoc. But, looks like the entire Quito contingent WAS in touch with each other! Ha! Go Quito Mud Dobbers....or whatever they are south of the south border.....Could you actually get the game to come in OK on line in Quito?

Agree...would love to have seen 6,000 students turn out...but YOU AND I both remember the days when such an event would have turned out 60 students. Not all students are even "back" as yet.....let's see how many come to Apogee for the first home game...I'm counting on a lot more than 600 being in the seats.

Anyone going to the soccer game tomorrow?

"Cougar High" WENT DOWN and no, you and your wife were not the only ones there...as you saw! Nicly done, soccer ladies and nicely done Mean Green fans as well. -
Mean Green Soccer - Ranked #9 in NSCAA South Region

CONGRATULATIONS...and while the team is VERY exciting to watch right now with this young crew, I can only imagine what a CUSA force they will be as the "youngsters" grow into the college game. This is really a bright spot in UNT athletics...has been for some time. Very proud of our soccer ladies! -
Indeed...and then the NFL Coaches, owners and fans can give him pass after pass...prediction...we'll see this guy flame out with personal problems long before anyone is talking about him as a potentail HOF player! I expect a very short career unless he "man's up" and starts accepting personal responsibility for his actions. Book it danno!

I see some "good news" in that depth seems to be improving a bit for the Mean green. Not so "worried" if a starter here and there go down with a short-term injury this season as I have been in the past. Improving the 3-deep is a biggie for the Mean green. UNT has some kids coming off the bench to give the starters a breather and play in special situations that can well handle the load. Still looks like UNT could add some depth, but it does seem to be improving...I like what Coach mac and Co. are doing here...now...go kick some "you know what" on the field guys!!!!

Arky State is having some "challenges" it seems...maybe a better review of these kids backgrounds and discipline problems may have been in order...what's with these kids who are so full of themselves that they think rules don't apply to them? Does anyone think, other than me, that it has a whole lot to do with the fact that the rules didn't seem to apply to them during HS and before...because, of course, they had athletic talent? Or used some other PC excuse for getting second, third, forth, fifth, etc. chances??? You know...it's society's fault...obviously someone else's fault as these kids certainly had no part to play in their dismissals....will the Arky State folks "man up" and kick them off permanently? I have my doubts.

Why does anyone care what this idiot does or doesn't do? Tired of reading about athletes who throw their abilities out a window...or worse...and who think they are something special such that they are above the rules, law, etc. And, that they should get multiple chances to shape up just because they are athletes...shame on their parents, teachers, mentors, coaches, etc., etc. A little more tough love early in these kids careers might prevent some of this crap later on...are you listening Dez Bryant??? OK, Gundy and Holder...where were you? ha! Les are you listening...at least Les made the move now....we'll see what happens in the next few months with this kid. These same old tired stories are seen way way too often.....sad, but true.

Hmmmm...might have...you know weather guys...the KRAM weather cahnnel is giving it a 40% chance.....it's the wetherman way!

YEP...good catch, Evan! -
Direct from the KRAM Weather channel...the game will be played in Baton Rouge on Saturday as scheduled. What hurricane???? These SEC folks drum up every excuse they can for not playing UNT and the Mean green. The tigers are scared of the Mean Green...that's why they create these weather issues every time....BELIEVE IT!

Had a great time watching Mean Green Soccer yesterday...even caught one of the little autographed soccer balls the ladies threw into the stands...way cool...it's right up on the shelf in my office with my Coach Mac autograped football, my Coach Benford autographed basketball, my RV autographed Apogee ground breaking hard hat and my Coach Stracke autographed Mean Green golf ball....thanks ladies...good throw! ha! Anyway, good crowd for yesterday's game...a few seats left but also some folks standing (including RV) at the fences and a couple watching from cars in the parking lot and a few behind the goal...so, all in all a good crowd and the Soccer ladies did not disappoint. Both goals were great goals and it looks like UNT's core of freshmen are going to provide some great soccer for years to come. WAY TO GO LADIES!!!!!!

Emmitt...must we do this sort of thing and get the trolls fired up? Really...so hard to see what point you have in posting something like this other than to post just one more dig at a home schedule that most see as less than "stellar" for 2012, but which has been 'discussed" to DEATH already. If you like HS football over college football good for you...but no way I'd pay $8 to see Allen play...I don't care where...I'd personally much rather pay the price to see UNT play at Apogee than any HS team...anywhere. Not that i don't like HS ball, I just like watching the Mean green Better... So, if it makes you feel better we can all acknowledge as RV has even publicly done, that no one is overly excited about UNT's home schedule this season nor the number of games. Hope this helps. Enjoy the HS game in Allen...am sure it will be great fun and the new stadium is indeed AWESOME!

The Talons still exist???? Good news.....I really thought they had pretty much vanished from the scene. At one time the Talons were a very positive spirit force on the UNT campus. Would love to see the talons return to a position of prominence at UNT. I really thought they had just "died of natural causes" and were simply an empty shell of their former self. This is good news if the Talons are actually "growing and doing" once again. -
Folks...this is something we can ALL do to help out a member of the great Mean Green Nation. Even a very small donation would help a great deal. Not only will it help from the financial standpoint, but it will help emotionally and spiritually as as well. Positive attitudes and knowing that people you don't even know are pulling for you DOES HELP! I firmly believe that, so...if you can...take a look and help Brian out. I have absolutely no clue who GreenP1 is, nor do I know Brian...but I know they are members of the Mean Green Nation, I know Brian has a great friend in GreenP1, I know Brian needs some help, I know if I help with something it will make a difference...that's pretty much all I need to know. How about you? GO get 'em Brian....thanks to GreenP1 for bringing this to our attention.

Excellent observation, Adler! Well said...thanks for noticing this positive change that is continuing to happen under RV's watch. It makes a difference and it matters. -

Lying to cover stuff up is never a good thing for one's career...just ask Richard Nixon's and Joe Perteno's families. -
Be careful there big guy...you will stir the ire of some folks....those that think we should never allow anyone in the Club Area on game days who has not purchased seats...you know...let's not market the Club Area to potential buyers or allow anyone like Sean Peyton in to create a little buzz...we must make it exclusive! Ha! I hope he'll come to a game or two myself...I'd bet he would be on the field (if allowed under NCAA rules...who knows?) or in RV's box or something however if he did come...but, would love to have him visit Apogee on game day...bring the family as well.

Ah, the disappoinment is mine. No problem...no -1's from me for your reply. Sometimes a good shot across the bow brings out such responses in folks. It's OK..... I still thinks it's funny.....

Really? I wonder what it cost to keep defending himself over and over again? Seems he has been "cleared" many times, yet the same bozos, spending other people's money, keep after it...so, I wonder if his "enough is enough" is just out of frustration and a realization that these folks, who don't have to spend their own money chasing after this thing, would just keep on until he was dead broke??? I have no clue if he did or didn't, but he sure has passed a bunch of tests along the way. Bozos who spend other people's money and have a personal vendetta are pretty tough to outspend! Seems to me anyway...and in a sport where all but everyone used these drugs at one time or another this does seem more like a vendetta than anything else. This sport lost credibility for being "drug free" many many years ago.....much like MLB these days.

Make sure you get them for seats at the Super Pit...OK, sorry...almost any seat in the lower bowl is a good seat. The press area side is usually filled with alums and long time season ticket holders...always a good area...just check out where you want and go for them....really, I've had season tickets in 4 different locations...the thing you want to decide is do you like "up close and personal" or a little further back. me, I like a tad further back up the lower bowl area...but, that's my preference....lots of available seating (that's a problem you are helping to fix) so you should be fine. Thanks for buying season tickets. You will be happy you did!
