You have a point...but do you mean to say that the fans who live in Houston and any other "away city" and show up for the one game in their area are more passionate than the ones who buy season tickets and attend home games because they cannot for whatever reason travel? Interesting perspective you have, but will say that you have to love the way UNT's traveling fan base is growing. I think UNT's CUSA affiliation will see many others travel to away games as the travel "do-able" for many more fans...as a general rule than with Sunbelt cities. Thanks to all the great fans who traveled to Houston to support the Mean Green. Well done and thank you!

I think some of our player parents should talk with Green59 about how, what and when they should post on message boards. Not commenting on the content of the posts, just want to make sure they don't get too into this stuff and take it too personally. Your playing sons would probably like it if you simply stayed away from posting on message boards. I know it's tough. I experienced a few "not so joyful moments" as the father of a college soccer goalkeeper. Tough to stay out of some of the idiotic things said and posted on message boards...especially if they hit a tad close to home...but, best to do so. Green59 is the perfect example of how a parent should handle these things. As to what i did...I read the board but never ever posted. Good thing too, as there were times I would like to have jumped right in...not a good thing. A word to the wise here folks. Leave your parenting at the door...these are college kids not high schoolers any longer....they can and will handle it! Parents...do yourself a favor...call or PM Green59. he's a great guy and can give you some excellent pointers on what to do and what not to do. Your son's will be very happy you did...and, so will you!

Oh, please...........had to happen. But, please. The things folks will post after a loss. Fun stuff this college football thing.

Let's see.....what's the theme here...Team loses....fans call the HC stupid and discuss how they all know how to do it better. You just have to love sports. Fans are so predictable. Hey, at least we see more fans that actually show up and care these ads. That's a bit of progress right there. But, to answer the first question....YES....Coach Mac IS a good coach....and, yes, he'll get this program turned around.

Question...why would anyone...anyone attend Cougar High? Even the City of Houston doesn't support the program...as witnessed by a pathetic crowd of about 22,000 showing up (that's less the 3000 or so Mean green fans). Apparently tailgating is a non-happening at Cougar High and the crowd as pathetic as well. never liked Cougar High getting into the old SWC. Thought it "ruined the neighborhood so to speak) and was super glad the Big XII had the sense not to take Cougar High when they took on parts of the old SC. Who the heck would want to live in Houston when you could live in Denton and closer to DFW? That place is the home of Enron and large mosquitoes and almost nothing else. Sucks as a place to live and even visit.....built the darn place BELOW sea level and it shows. So, Cougar King...yes, you guys won the football game. Congratulations...now, the problem is you have to attend Cougar High and live in the Houston area. In my book that's a big win for the fans of the Mean Green and UNT! Enjoy that pile of "dodo" that is your new conference...if it even exists in another year!

Ouch....OK, good guys...let's get this going!!!!

Rangers lose wildcard game
KRAM1 replied to meanJewGreen's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
How in the world did this epic collapse happen? This is going down in baseball history as the team that simply gave up and didn't care enough to play anywhere near their collective abilities. Man, glad I am not a big baseball/Rangers guy, but I follow it enough to know that this is an epic fail. Good news is..no complaining about a Rangers playoff game hurting attendance for UNT's Tuesday night game. -
NT alum Leila Rahimi to be sideline reporter
KRAM1 replied to GreenBat's topic in Mean Green Football
I hope she doesn't wear a UT shirt or sport the Hook 'Em Horns sign like another unnamed UNT grad reporter who does such crap! -
More Evidence That...

WRONG...but whatever floats your boat. Had several folks with stellar and I mean stellar banking resumes cross my desk during my banking days but each had a "hiccup" of sorts when we started checking....none got hired...by us anyway. Last I knew one found a job outside of banking in the end. Have no clue about the others. Mainly I agree with you, but the facts are beginning to say differently...there's an ex-QB at TCU wondering about all this right now...he's pretty good, but his decision making seems to leave a bit to be desired....love the cavalier attitude however. If it works for you GREAT, it won't for everyone. The point here is to be careful....your choice. -
But, we might just care about the Marble Falls schedule more than we do LSU's...who is to say? I really don't care about either one unless they have UNT on the schedule, and I seriously doubt UNT will show up on thje Marble Falls schedule any time soon...now TAMS...maybe another story. Suit those bright yopungsters up in Mean Green green and send 'em to Marble Falls...who is in on this????? let's do it...GO TAMS, beat marble Falls!!!! Has a nice ring to it, wouldn't you say? Chess at 50 paces perhaps????

Here's thinking that the Mean Green are going to surprise a few folks down in Houston this weekend...and I mean that in a positive way.

Those who have been denied admission to the college of their choice or have been turned away from a job opportunity due to something on some social media site just may not agree with your cavalier attitude CBL...but more power to you. Hope it doesn't ever cause you any concerns. Good luck with that "confidence thing" if it ever does come back to bite ya! You know...because it could never happen to you, right? Hope not. Good luck. -
Incredibly firm grasp of the obvious here...i like the way you think! Having a wee one around the house has made you such a wise old guy these days. This is my favorite prediction and the only one that I am 100% confident that is correct.

I love it when folks try to compare who has the biggest!

OH, NO...the boo birds are out already...dear me, what will I do????? My day is in shambles already....it's so predictable around here when you play the ..."oh, let's have some fun with some folks game" early on a Friday morning...or any morning for that matter. Did I miss the part where the sky fell or something?????
-
Excellent...could you reserve me a t-shirt in a size LARGE? I can pre-pay by mailing you a check if that would help as well. Love this idea...great work. Hope you guys raise tons of dollars for Brian. EDIT: Folks...as it ends at 2AM...why not, if you can't make it BEFORE the Basketball event, stop by after the event to help out with the great event? Seems like that would work as well. Let's get behind this and show what the great Mean green nation can do to help one of its own!!!! Come on...we, together, can do this! And, have a great fun time as well...what's not to like about the Oak Street Ale House? NOTHING, that's what. Be there...support this thing!

Interestingly, at least to me, I noticed this morning that a koozie I was using (on a soda this morning...not doing beer at 6AM) was the 2006 Mean green football schedule. Took a look to remind myself of that season...it was a 12 game season...with 5 HOME GAMES...imagine that...this stuff happens I guess. I did not recall 2006 as having only 5 home games, but then I don't dwell on that sort of thing either. The more interesting part was that UNT had OCC games with UT (at UT), SMU (at Fouts), Tulsa (at Tulsa) and Akron (at Akron)...not a bad OCC schedule. Of course, all but the SMU game were on the road. But, to me, that's a really nice OCC line-up. I also think this is the sort of line-up we'll see for OCC games going forward now that UNT has Apogee to show off to visiting teams and their fans. Also, being in CUSA should help a good bit as well. I wonder how we all survived with only 5 games at home that year? I just don't recall the sky falling or the earth opening up and swallowing everyone. Maybe I missed that part. Like everyone else, I wish UNT had 6 home games this year...or even 7 like the 7 away games UNT played in 2006, but like in 2006 the world will not end and the sky will not fall as a result. GOOD NEWS for 2013 is that UNT opens at home for a change...now that's change we can all live with and enjoy! Man, these old koozies can bring back some memories and for me, well, good memories as well. GO MEAN GREEN...BEAT HOUSTON!!!!

Rangers lose wildcard game
KRAM1 replied to meanJewGreen's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Then call me foolish...are you really so sure the Rangers will still be playing? I've been called worse..... -
What'll time does it start? We have the basketball preview Madness night thing at the Pit that night that starts at 7PM. Could one make the Oak Street Draft House thing and then get to the Super Pit by say 6:15pm or so? Would love to stop by..have a pint or two...grab a t-shirt and head to the Super Pit. I'll stay away from the corn hole game....I smell a hustle somewhere! Ha!

Handsome cops always have chick stalkers....just sayin..... -
Indeed...ANOTHER good job by Brett. Well done. AND...thanks.

This kid is amazing....and not in a good way. Just how many chances does this guy think he deserves? Time for this kid to grow up and take some personal responsibility for his own actions and step away from football until he can do so. This will tell everyone a good deal about TCU and its coaching staff and administration. Stand by...should be interesting.

The CougarKing Comes to GMG Thread (With Guest Star MeanGreener)
KRAM1 replied to Cougar King's topic in Mean Green Football
Nope...not on that board either..am most certain that we could battle for that top "do not invite" list thing! Ha! Just thought Cougar King might really enjoy those folks. Seriously, think he might just fit right in and they have a friendly "chat" or two before the game Saturday. Why not give Cougar King the "full monty" as it were? Right? Just trying to do the guy a favor. EDIT: oldguy...tried to send you a PM...you may need to clean out your PM box...it could be full....couldn't get it to go through! -

KRAM1 replied to Cougar King's topic in Mean Green Football
Or, perhaps a bit of both. hard to believe this thread has now run to 31 pages. Glad you dropped by Cougar King...things around here were getting a tad boring...might I introduce you to a second Mean Green chat room as well? I think you'd do real well over there...seriously...we have some very spirited fans on that site as well. PM me if you want the link.
