  1. OK, am I still the only one who thinks it is funny...and a bit odd...that we have a whole thread dedicated to discussing the merits of and who might be better between UNT's current starting QB and a guy who has never played a down in a Division 1 football game? I just find some irony and humor in this who thread. Carry on......
  2. I believe "that county judge" would be Mary Horn! Yes, thank her.
  3. As will I....thank you, Sir!
  4. This...true!
  5. I agree that we don't know how the good guys will do, nor do we know which team will "show up" based on what we have seen so far this year...But I do know that we will see a team that will go out and fight hard to win! I know we will see a team that won't give up...there is no quit in this team...and I know we will see a team that will do all it can to represent themselves and UNT and its student body well. I fully expect to see a hard fought game with the good guys coming out on top in a close one. If I had to put numbers to it...I'd say...DT hits a late TD and Olen follows up with the extra point for a 24-17 win. I expect to be as excited after this game ends for the future of the Mean Green's season as I was bummed out after the home loss to Troy in one that really should have been won. This team remembers....this team does not want that to happen at home again! This team will be and is ready. Believe it and be there to see it IN PERSON!
  6. As with everyone else here, I along with the entire Mean Green Nation mourn your loss with you. So very sorry to hear about this and for your loss. May God grant you and your family peace and comfort, and may you remember all the good times...as they were many I am sure. May God bless you and your family.
  7. Truer words have never been spoken! +1 for you, Sir!
  8. I like this thread...love to see the folks going for a great tailgate atmosphere fopr this game...way cool folks!
  9. The University is working to help with this...as Tuesday is a class day...and also a big day for night classes...and many of the students park at Fouts, so, yes, parking challenges will be a potential. As always...best to get there early if at all possible, but know that cannot be the case for everyone. I think Fouts is the best shot, but also thing there will be some street parking available around campus....maybe a tad further away. So, bring your walking shoes...hey, it's good for your health! ha! All the reserved spots will be available as usual as will the red.blue lots, etc. Or, so I am told. Personally, i hope we have a bit of a traffic/parking challenge as that will mean we are seeing decent attendance for this very important game. Glad you are coming...bring some friends and GO MEAN GREEN!
  10. Thanks for noticing.
  11. Who is this "WE" you are talking about? Got a mouse in your pocket ior something? Some of us have never had the "abondon ship" mentality when it comes to the Mean Green! Never have...never will!
  12. Well...here we are speculating between our current starting QB and a guy who has shown ZERO ability to even stay enrolled at a school long enough to actually play a down in a regular season game. GREATNESS! This is a decision that will be made by the coaching staff....after, what i expect to be, some very spirited QB competition between all UNT's rostered QB's next spring and fall. Anyone here who is already counting DT out of the equation is NUTS! this season before we all start speculating on who starts next season...let's see who is and who is not actually enrolled come fall ball first...just satin.....
  13. Seems like a reasonable policy to me...so, where do you work? Just kiddin.......don't answer that!
  14. Indeed! Yes...and you have more folks join the Mean Green Club to help cover the cost of scholarships. Takes a bunch of pressure off the AD to schedule these early season "payday" games. But, alas, it seems we have more than a few so-called fans who don't join for some reason. Trust me...as a Volunteer Rep for the Mean Green Club I've heard lots of excuses. And, here I am talking about excuses.....we all know the difference between an honest reason and some lame excuse. Want to help stop these "paycheck games"? Well...you can....join the Mean Green Club, increase your level of membership if you are a current member and do what Adler mentions above. Be part of the solution...not part of the problem. You CAN definitely do something to help. And you can start helping as early as Tuesday by showing up for the LaLa game...no excuses!
  15. You know what they say about statistics. Personally, I think DT will lead this team to several more wins This Year! We'll see DT compete for the job again next year and I fully expect him to be UNT'S number one starting next season. This kid CAN play and he can get the job done. Sure, he has struggled a bit this season, but he will "right the ship" and we will all see the DT we know as a leader and a darn fine QB lead the Mean Green to victory over LaLa next Tuesday.. Be there to see it! You won't be disappointed. I know...I know...lots of naysayers here, and lots of folks who can coach and evaluate players better than the current Mean Green coaching staff, but I'm going to keep believing that this team can make the steps necessary to show that they can win and win on a regular basis. See, I am now over my funk of the Troy game....and hangover from the Houston game. Let's go Mean Green Nation. Fill Apogee to at least 22,000 on Tuesday and beat LaLa...do so and watch how the "jumping ship" reverses and all the talk quickly turns to what a great coaching staff and QB UNT has.....funny how tat works. OK, I just didn't want anyone to think that I run out of green stuff to drink....I think it was lots and lots of green beer.
  16. Now...throw away the key...I am sure there are a few guys just waiting for him to arrive. I understand that child molesters are welcomed with open arms in most prisons.....right?
  17. May or may not be a legal issue, but this sure seems backwards to me! Who do you work for.....Disneyland? Don't answer that...I already know.
  18. It really is time for you to get a life and move on. I am thinking you probably still live at home with your mother. Go play on another team's board now...that's how it works. It WAS fun for awhile and you made some good points...it's over. Call it a day.....and think about moving out of your mother's home.
  19. Great job in setting this up. This is exactly the type of thing that Alums can do to help bring the Mean Green Nation together. Great to see this by an alum who is trying to make a difference and doing something positive. Nothing like taking action. I hope you get a big crowd. PM me if you would like. I might have a way to help you get the word out to fellow Austin area alums.
  20. Man, that Cougar board must be a joke as Cougar King still thinks he needs to spend time on GMG.Com. And now we have some SW TX State or whatever it now is signing up to post on GMG.Com...goodness, some folks need to get a life or maybe go to class or something. I know GMG.Com is the greatest of all fan boards going in college sports, but shouldn't you guys just "go home" and place nice in your own sandbox? Are you guys that tired of your own boards? Really? Cougar King...game over your guys won...good for you...now go away. Boko Dweller...just go away.
  21. 20,000+ with a big student turnout and a big crowd in the Wing Zone as a result of the 2 for $10 promo!
  22. Just what about Coach Mac's character do you question? Coaching is one thing...Character is another matter.
  23. Correction...North Texas is a much nicer EVERYTHING!
  24. I'll be there...as usual. And, would encourage some new folks to attend. We pretty much see the same folks each time. Great to see them each week for sure, but would be good to start getting a few more folks to attend. I know these things seem to be "easier" to make the effort to attend when the team wins, but support is important at times such as this as well when the team and coaching staff is doing the re-build/re-load thing. It really means more now than when the good times start rolling in...as we all know...easy to be there and support a winning team, not so much when the effort is not turning into wins...or as many as we would all like. Come on by Rudy's this evening if you have the chance. It's a lot more fun than sitting around waiting for Monday Night Football to come on...and, if you are a MNF person...you can be home in time to catch most of it anyway.
