  1. Thanks for the head's up here...
  2. Sad....seems that many folks posting this "voting is a worthless exercise" BS must have never worn the uniform. If you think your vote doesn't matter you are sadly mistaken...many local and state-wide races are won or lost with less than 100 votes! This, for me, is just another indication of how our schools and families have ignored this duty and right and have relegated most everything to some "if it feels good, do it" status as long as it is PC correct. The pure ignorance of any historical perspective is truly amazing...and yes, sad. When good people do nothing...evil wins. When people feel the privilege of voting isn't worth it...or that it doesn't matter, I give you those people in those nations who do not have this right/privilege. But, it's like "pissin' in the wind" in trying to get this point across to those who are either too blind or simply refuse to see. These folks are usually the ones who "leave it up to someone else" to do the heavy lifting....fine, go for it. There will always be those folks who do care enough to vote and to do what they can to protect your right to do so...or in some cases...not to do so. So yes, sit back, relax...there are those who will do it for you! Thank God for those who will... BTW...it has absolutely ZERO to do with who is or who is not running for office...that is no where near the point. Interesting how folks can rationalize things....I doubt Skinner would be happy that he was brought into this conversation...especially in the way he was...out of context and all...but, if it helps anyone to rationalize a position...OK. VOTE...VOTE for any candidate you wish...just vote! This thread has gotten to me in such a way that I will not be reading or posting any more in any of these threads...I just cannot take reading some of this line of reasoning any longer. It's just me, so...no harm no foul...but just cannot do it. To read the gibberish that some folks use as a rationalization for not voting is beyond me...best to just let it go. Good luck to all in the election...sate, local and federal...you do realize that many local issues are on the ballot in many places as well...if you don't vote (and BTW...you are not voting for a person...so that line of BS doesn't hunt here) you get no say in many very important local issues. Those issues are often decided by a mere handful of votes...you vote matters and it counts...imagine that. And the government that you should be most active in and most concerned about and the one where you personally can have a big impact is the government "closest to you". You might want to think about that when you rationalize away your right to vote if nothing else...
  3. Excited to be heading to the Middle game tomorrow....I get to see this Mean Green win in person!
  4. I find this comment sad. I believe it is a duty for every citizen in a free nation to vote...lots of good men and women have died to protect this right......please reconsider this position and take your rightful position in this republic of ours, honor those who fought and died to protect this right and vote. I know it's also your choice...another great thing about this republic of ours...but please....reconsider. Too late for the current election, but another will follow.
  5. Blatant self promotion! Ha! I'd also add that they have some cool bikes and gear as well...just sayin.....
  6. HOF worthy, perhaps....smiling at the vision of this!
  7. One GREAT thing that will happen after Nov. 6th no matter which candidate wins is that this thread will get shut down! Some of the stuff posted on here is just nutty...but, isn't politics great? Am sure lots of hearts and minds were changed by reading this thread. I do know that some folks must have a lot of free time on their hands...would be nice if some of those would actually find correct information. Glad I have already voted...suggest everyone on here do the same...Deep and I voted for the "good guys"...suggest you do the same! TASTY...you did promise to shut this thread down on Nov. 7th...right? Please tell me you did......PLEASE....
  8. Funny Mariner stuff here...perhaps this website might interst all our seafaring folks.. www.usmma.edu ACTA NON VERBA!
  9. A panel of MeanandGreenexperts.org experts. Just having some fun this morning...joke people...joke!
  10. Just Do It!
  11. 40-14 Arky State in the 4th...this one is done...2 Tuesday night ESPN2 losses in a row for LaLa....OUCH!
  12. Indeed...much like many of those who post in this thread and THINK they know much about how government works in reality. Pretty funny stuff sometimes...just like all those in the House, senate and White House who have probably never even read the U.S.Constitution! Edit: so, based on the negativity here I guess we have a bunch of folks who think they are experts in this area.....good to know..carry on with the comedy...thanks for the fun.
  13. Why doesn't someone ask the AD directly instead of trying to get answers on a message board? The guy was at the Coach Mac Show just last evening. He is at times at these radio shows when he can be...show up and maybe you can ask him directly. From my experience in talking with him, I get pretty straight forward answers. Not always the answer I am looking for, but a pretty honest straight forward answer. Not being "testy" here at all, but I've head all this about jerseys for some time. We all know it was a "Nike thing" the first year we switched, but maybe something can be done now. Seems to me that several folks would purchase...but, we darn sure better have more than "several" purchase if this thing gets done....Me...not a fan of the jersey wearing stuff (on me)...I like t-shirts and polo's and oxford shirts better, but would love to see plenty of others wearing the jerseys. So, buck up and ask the AD in person. He is definitely not hard to find if you attend any UNT athletic events at all. Like I said, my experience in working with him and talking with him has been excellent. Just don't expect that you will always get the answer that you are wanting...might be different because of things you really don't know about. But, at least you would have your answer. I'm thinking the guy is fully aware of this issue, is and has been working on it, but that there are just some things that are more challenging than we would all want to believe. Maybe even because of some agreement signed years ago that just isn't working in today's world...maybe still a Nike thing...maybe a licensing thing...who the heck knows on this board...probably no one. I am also guessing the AD would love to see these jerseys being bought and being worn. So, he's probably on the same side of this question as we are...ball's in your court...go talk to the man.
  14. There is a watch party by the UNT Alumni Assoc-Collin County Chapter at the Rudy's BBQ in Allen. They always do a good job.... EDIT: Sorry, i see you already got this info...but...never hurts to share good news more than once I guess!
  15. Agree....Will got UNT out of big trouble at least twice with great punts from the end zone...and did you notice the fact that he handled some rather low snaps on FG's and XP's as well. Snaps were OK, just a tad low, so no banging on Blake here who has done a great job all year, but Will really did the job Tuesday night. Mac was asked on the radio show if Will got a game ball for his efforts Tuesday...Mac said no...that really surprised me. If not Will, then who on special teams?
  16. STOP...STOP NOW! Please.....
  17. I believe Coach mac said on his radio show that Teegarden was out for the year with a broken finger or something like that...OUCH!
  18. Absolutely, Deep. Indeed they do. And, they need to realize that their actions in public and on message boards reflect back on their sons/daughters and the university itself...not to mention back to them as well. Having experienced the "player parent" thing with a son playing college soccer (and goalkeeper at that), I have some experience in this area. Not easy at times to keep ones trap shut...but ALWAYS best to do so, and when in public with any medium one needs to be mindful of what they do/say/post, etc.
  19. So, I get it...having a little fun with you warrants a -1. Typical Liberal..no humor...I get it..thanks. Ha! Maybe that's why she turned you down..no sense of humor...or didn't get it! Let me point out...just having fun with you.....relax!
  20. Mirror, mirror on the wall........
  21. I guess this means she turned you down for a date to the prom or something.
  22. This is going to be a crucial game for both teams and I expect both will come out swinging. The winner will certainly be right in the mix for the Sunbelt title. Both will be ready and it may well be a dogfight this time. Most of these game in the last few years have been won BIG by one team or the other....this time I expect a dogfight that will be won or lost in the trenches. I'm thinking the Mean Green bring home a hard fought win in a close one...not won until the 4th quarter by the good guys!
  23. MAYBE out for the season according to my sources at OSU. But, out for at least 5 weeks and that's pretty much the season in my book. Tough kid to play the entire second half with that knee injury. Well done J.W. Denton raises 'em right! ha!
  24. Interestingly enough, the Dallas Morning news endored Sadler in this race. The guy has no real chance of winning, but part of the reason given by the DMN was Sadler's experience in the TX House, and his willingness to "compromise". Hmmmmmm..... Cruz wins this one going away...well, maybe not "going away" but with a more than comfortable margin. Early voting in Texas starts today...so VOTE EARLY...VOTE OFTEN...there's no voter ID law in Texas so......... Just kiddin' with ya about the voter ID thing....use that utility bill for an ID, that's fail safe for sure! NOT!
  25. Seems UNT has a basketball Mom that has been known to be a tad vocal during games...nothing like this, but pretty vocal none the less. Player parents should realize who they are and what they are doing. It's a reflection on them, the school and their kids. Not something i would want to have being a negative. The kid is probably used to his Mom doing this sort of thing, but it cannot get much more embarrassing then this! This should be a lesson to all UNT player parents (and fans for that matter) that how you act, what you do & say in public, and what you post on fan message boards...makes a difference. It can either be a positive one or a negative one. The choice is 100% up to the individual parent and/or fan.
