Well said...way too many folks here and around UNT always seem to look at the glass as "half-empty" and feel that the whole school revolves around the reputation of its football wins and losses. For the vast majority of folks here, college football is supposed to be a fun entertainment medium and a great way to spend a fall Saturday afternoon. Many act like the sun won't rise unless the team wins or some staffer doesn't get fired because they did or did not do something. Geeeeezzzzzz, Louise, folks...the negativity on this board and elsewhere is just "over the top" recently. Folks.....lighten up...it's college football! Want to have some serious issues each day? Go join my nephew as he packs up to leave Afghanistan for the 4th time! That, folks, is some serious stuff....this, on the other hand, is college football. Enjoy it. If you can't, you might consider what and why you are so negative. If the win/loss record of UNT football makes or breaks you day, you may just not have enough "day". Great day today....BB game tomorrow evening...homecoming this Saturday...beautiful weather...and, oh yes, I'm heading out to play golf this afternoon on this beautiful Wednesday...someone please tell me what there is to be negative about in the scheme of things.....Relax, enjoy...it will make your life so much more enjoyable and those around you will enjoy seeing you.

I happen to agree with you...but what I don't agree with is your implied assumption that the coaching staff did not do it's best to have the team ready to play. So, specifics please...tell me, how does a coach, from your vast experience, insure that the team will be "ready to play". What specifics would you put in place that you assume Coach Mac and Co. Did not try? From what limited experience I have, I have seen this happen to teams..and some very good teams..from the high school to the pro level and in each and every sport I follow. Seems to me that sometimes teams just come out flat. Sucks, but it happens. Ask any experienced coach and they will tell you this is always a mystery as to why it happened. You seem to imply that you have the answer...so, would love for you to share your secrets so this will never happen to the Mean Green EVER again! I can just see Coach Mac sitting in that Monday coaches meeting and saying...OK, guys, let' do all we can to make sure the team comes out flat this week. Anyone think that happens?

2012-13 Dallas Mavericks
KRAM1 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
If T Mitch ends up in Dallas it would finally give me a reason to buy these overpriced tickets to watch a few Mavs games. Come on lottery pick because I don't see this team even ending up an 8 seed. Stranger things have happened and if they can build some locker room togetherness, well...you never know. Chemistry is important...even in the NBA! -
It's about 30 miles north of Dallas right up I-35E.

I'm looking forward to some great wins by the Mean Green!

Congrats to John Hendlund and UNT Women's soccer for another Champ

Exactly right GrandGreen...considering the youth on this squad it looks like UNT will continue n into CUSA as ate am to be "reckoned with". Great job ladies...good luck in the SB Tournament at S. Alabama...bring back the win and the NCAA berth! -
Grant is 30?????? Wow...seems like only yesterday that he was 29! My how times flies when you are having fun!

Happy Birthday to Green Dozer and Grant.UNT...two true green Mean Green supporters through thick and thin! They give of their time, talent and treasure to help support the Mean green and to me, that means a great deal. Well done! have a great birthday and remember...it's your day...you own it...well, the two of you do...make it a great one!!!

Folks...I would say that there might just be more here than the "public" knows about this situation. And, I am in NO WAY talking about anything illegal nor academic. From what I can tell Brent is a good student and a good guy...I can also say that he has a super and very support Mom and Dad. These parents drive...DRIVE from Alabama to support Brent and the team whether he plays or not...I talked with them in Nashville just this last weekend for the MT game. For me, I wish nothing but the best for Brent going forward and I hope he gets in a grad school program he likes and plays for another team (and one closer to home) next season. I thank Brent for his hard work and contributions to the Mean green. many players in his position would have become nothing but a big distraction to the team once they found they were not playing...not Brent. Fair sails and following winds, Brent. All the best to you and your family. EDIT: Thanks Grant...fixed that one!

Good luck Brent. Appreciate your time with the Mean Green. All the best going forward.

Doubtful we will still be in this "losing mode" at the end of two more years , and doubtful Coach Mac would be gone.

THECB Vote on NT Union Fee (Maybe not good)
KRAM1 replied to Mean Green Matt's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't fret folks....the re-constructed student union building at UNT is not a dead issue.....just another step in the game of state politics and state process....it will get done IF the University of North Texas Administration and students want it to get done...now we can all see how badly they do want it re-built. My guess...project will get approved! Patience, grasshopper, patience! -

Announced Attendance at MUTS--14,102
KRAM1 replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
I was there on on the other side looking across to the student side...it had about as many as you see here in the photo...maybe 2-300 more. Pitiful...absolutely pitiful attendance on a day when it was cold and a tad windy, but dry! -
Mac mentioned on his radio show tonight that he likes all three backs and that all three will continue to play and get reps.
-
Thanks for the inside scoop, Coach. Edit: Seriously...you guys crack me up!

Just FYI...I am not down.

It really was a good show to attend in person this week. I recommend coming by in person if you can as often the chat during commercials, before and after the show is pretty good as well. Tonight's show was one of the best so far this year in my opinion. Really, try coming by in person. It's usually pretty much the same group each week. Would love to see some new faces as well.

There is a lot of complaining about Thompson
KRAM1 replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
We talking about Tony Romo here?????? Edit: Seriously...really? Some dunderhead gives me a -1 for this post...it's darn funny folks..if of course you have any sense of humor at all...someone just has zero sense of humor...as the great philosopher might say....GOOD GRIEF!
