  1. Ok...this is going to be a bit out of character for me, so don't fall over dead and think that I have gone over to the dark side here....but, I too am tiring of all this "skins on the wall stuff"...and the what we (me and my coaching staff) have done at other schools. That was OK in year one, but it is time to move along. Let's talk about UNT and what one has done here and what one is DOING here and what one will do here. I get it...it is a good bit of Coach speak, but let us all move along now. We are officially in year three of the Mac era...I believe in Mac and Company, but I am tiring of hearing about what went on elsewhere. I care about what goes on at UNT and with the Mean Green. I believe Coach Mac and Company can indeed get it done here, so let's talk about that....go sign kids for UNT, go Coach 'em up and let's go out and win in year three. My bride and I will be there in support all the way and so will the fans of the Mean Green Nation. Year three starts NOW!
  2. I wish I had all the answers like so many of our experts. It just must be easy to recruit big time HS recruits to UNT right now given the record over the last few years. Our experts seem to think so. So, I am just scratching my head trying to figure out why Coach Mac and Company just load up on 4 and 5 star guys. This level of HS recruit just must be begging to sign with UNT right now. Simply amazing....
  3. Nice touch from #7. Appreciate his acknowledgement of the fans support through a tough season. If, as a fan, you think it was a tough go.....think how it has been for these guys who have been the ones who actually went through it each and every day. I appreciate this note from Derek....
  4. Number 1....I happen to know a good deal about the labor practices at Wal Mart, but that is beside he point. Your post is pure BS, and right out of the me, me, me...entitlement generation....what do you know about my opportunities? You are obviously buying the liberal crap....it is all about choices.....don't like Wal-Mart and their labor practices...don't work for Wal-Mart. We're these folks not told what their pay, benefits, hours, etc. would be when they were hired? Do these same folks know how much in union dues they will pay, how much their union bosses are making off their backs, how many will be paying much more for Wal-Mart products, how many fewer of them will have jobs if they unionize, and on and on and on. It is the same people who wanted the job...took the job...and now claim..."it is not fair". So, what was it fair when you took the job? You think you deserve more just because you have been there over one year? Your reply indicates that you fail to understand even the basics here and have bowed to the union mantra...that's great thinking there Eagle Green.....pure BS right out of the union play book........speaking of brain vomit. You can believe that people do not have any control over the choices they make if you want...and you can believe that those choices should have no impact on their lives..it is pure BS, but you can believe it if you want. But, that dog just don't hunt here....
  5. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....I see what you are going for here, Dozer.
  6. Yes..it is all about skills and choices. People make choices in their lives....people seem to want others to bail them out when they discover they have made bad choices along the way...then it is always the big bad employer that is trying to hold them back. This gets so very tiring...it is the same crap over and over and over. Don't like the pay/benefits at Wal-Mart? Go work somewhere else or go get some skills that can lead to a better job. Lots of folks have worked while going to school. This crap about blaming Wal-Mart for "bad labor practices" is pure BS....how about poor life practices by those who cannot seem understand that THEY are part of the problem?
  7. Will be great to have both Silver and GRant.UNT working together on these events. Super team shaping up here!
  8. I am KRAM1 and I approve of this post!
  9. Baseball is on the way to UNT. Patience, grasshopper, patience. It will not be that much longer now.....
  10. Tough loss....tough season. This waiting for "next season" is getting tougher and tougher. But, as a proud member of the great Mean Green Nation I will do just that. No way I am ever abandoning MY University or the Mean Green. Tough season to take...it will take a bit of time to get past this one...maybe until spring ball and/or a basketball trip to the NCAA's. Goodnight Mean Green football for 2012. The 2013 season starts tomorrow! Edit: Seriously, really? What was said here that in any way deserves a negative point? Really? Someone is really having a bad day.....
  11. Who won this game? Never mind....good win for State here....big in-state rival game here! Now if Oklahoma State can do the same to OU today!
  12. I'll take every idea posted here! Since it's Christmas and we are asking Santa, let's just go for it all. Booger Kennedy, Joe Greene, Spider Lockhart, Abner, JQ, Cedric, et.al. Bring 'em on!
  13. Way cool, Silver....I'll get with you before the next season....exactly what the Mean Green Nation needs....more folks actually willing to step up and be part of the solution. Really appreciate the willingness here to step up and help, Silver! Thank You Mucho!
  14. Would you be of the said unmotivated to help or would you like to be the one to help make this happen for each away game? I would help as my time allows, but need someone else to carry the majority of the load for each and every away game. Seriously, would love to work with you on this. Interested?
  15. Well...the short answer again is that the few cannot always do for the many. Thought that was fairly clear. These things do not happen on their own and the businesses rarely initiate this sort of activity. Of course anyone is welcome to volunteer their time and often some of their own money to set these up. That's the answer as to "why", Silver....too many who want these things set up so they can just come, have a great time, and leave. Too few folks to do the leg work, the set up and the take down and clean up after folks leave. If you are talking about the Pavilion, that takes several hours to set up and then take down. Then there is the purchase of the feed, etc. It does not have to be the Alumni Assoc. or a chapter setting these things up...lots of places, such as Rudy's might be willing to help. Just need the volunteers like those who have stepped up in Collin County with the Alumni Collin County Chapter to bring these events to life. Those of us who do volunteer...do it because we love doing it....but, we need help...we need more people to step up and help. Lots of folks offer suggestions for what someone else should do or do better the next time. And, some of the suggestions are great and well thought out...some not so much. But, rarely do those doing the suggesting or asking step up to say..."hey, I'll get that watch party thing going in Tarrant County, Johnson County or at Rudy's in Denton, etc. Not complaining nor am I pointing fingers, just explaining that these things take time, money and volunteers....heck, even getting the word out at times can be time consuming enough. Would love to see watch parties all over the metroplex for every away game. Happy to help anyone get something going....we have some folks with some experience in doing this sort of thing and we can help...just cannot do it ALL. The other factor is turnout...it is hard to keep doing events when so few folks actually show up. The more folks turn out, the more viable doing these events becomes. Silver...hope this helps to better answer your question.
  16. The union crap just gets deeper and deeper every day. They are all in panic mode as they are losing membership. I wonder how the "fat cat" and high paid union bosses can face their rank and file dues paying members every day knowing that they are getting fat on the backs of the people they claim to represent?
  17. If folks do not want to work at Wal Mart I guess they do not have to do so. Is there some way Wal Mart is forcing people to apply for jobs? And, those applying...are they not aware of the pays scale and working conditions? Is there an armed. Guard forcing them to continue to work for Wal Mart? I have heard that several machine shop owners are looking for skilled workers and are offering several dollars more per hour....oh, these Wal Mart folks have few skills and little education you say? Oh, maybe that makes a difference...in both pay scale and in the working environment.
  18. The few cannot always do for the many. Folks who want this sort of thing to happen each and every time might want to consider joining with the few who do the majority of the work time and time again. Trust me...it is a little more work than most folks think. Love to do this, but just cannot do it every time. Would welcome any help that anyone would like to give...Silver? Greenjoe? Anyone? We are currently planning two other events..check out the Alumni area of GMG.Com if you haven't seen them as yet. Sorry we simply cannot do everything with the limited number of volunteers we can count on.....
  19. I try.
  20. Clarke Overlander will find his shot and will be just fine. Shots will fall. Book it!
  21. Wrong...as it has been demonstrated time and time time again...Unions will never learn. The "fat cat" union bosses will keep bleeding their membership for dues and will keep living the high life while they act to put their own members on the unemployment lines. Obviously the union bosses don't care about the rank and file membership. They have brain washed them for so many years that the remaining membership will continue to be the lemmings that fall into the sea ever blissful in their "unioness"!
  22. Every liberal I know claims to do this, but they always come away with the same liberal mindset. Reading just for the sake of reading is not what's important. If one actually reads both sides and THINKS about what they read they wold probably never end up on the fringes of either side...nor would they always march to exact same beat on every issue each and every time. Also...most libs I know NEVER seem to claim to be liberal...I wonder why that is? Sort of like all the negative people I know never call themselves negative...they always seem to want to be called realists even when each and every comment is negative. Strange thing this human behavior, no?
  23. Hmmmmm...I sense some hanky-panky brewing at the Grren59 abode.......
  24. Yea...I mean, just how many people still eat bread! They should have turned to something people would actually buy...how dare that management continue to bake bread! Can you believe that in these changing times of markets and tastes? Man, how shortsighted of management to actually try to bake and sell bread these days. Who the heck eats bread any longer...seriously.
