Just my opinion here, but I don't think Seth is going anywhere until AT LEAST Mason Fine graduates. They are joined at the hip, and they genuinely like each other. Plus there is the Loveless connection which adds to the "family" ties Seth has locally. Then, there is the fact that he just obtained a lake place nearby for family and friends gatherings and relaxation. Add to that the fact that he has not accomp0lished one of his personal goals (winning a bowl and a conference championship at UNT), and I think he stays. Plus, a new contact of up to $2,000,000 is probably in the works. Opportunities will come to Seth should he pass on K-State and remain at UNT awhile. He is a "young and up and coming HC:" and people are taking notice. So, sure, he will probably mover on at some point in the not so distant future...just not this next year I believe. Like I said, just my opinion.

Ladies started a bit slow, but got it in gear and won by about 30 or so. Looked good down the stretch. Best part was the meet and greet with both the men's and women's teams and coaches in the Green Room after the game during the ticket pick-up time. Enjoyed talking to players and coaches from both teams while munching on nachos and M&M's...super healthy, right? Hey, I drank a Diet Coke...does that help? Ha!

New Buc-ee’s opens in Denton along Interstate-35
KRAM1 replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Football
Visited the Denton Buc-ees for the first time Friday around noon. Absolutely zero traffic issues getting in or out, and plenty of pumps available selling regular for $1.79 gallon I believe. Great fun inside looking at all the "stuff" and all the snacks, food, etc. And, yes, ladies, mega numbers of bathroom stalls available and super clean (according to my wife). I think Buc-ees will be a great addition to Denton/Corinth and will be good neighbors top those nearby. I see this "Buc-ees is going to ruin us" stuff pretty much like the Denia folks complaining about Apogee and how it was going to ruin their neighborhood. Cooler heads knew that was not the case, but it took Apogee being open a year or so for all the "whoa is me" stuff to calm down. Notice their are no barricades keeping folks from driving through the neighborhood before or after games nor are their hoards of people with their cars blocking residents from getting in or out on game days. Much ado about nothing, but nothing was going to convince those Denia folks until they experienced it in "real time". Pretty much like the furor over Buc-ees in my opinion. -
Agree with this to some degree. I know it always made us at the bank upset when we found out our donations to any event were not used exactly for the purpose they were solicited for in the first place. We never gave to that cause or event again when we found out that had happened. No matter how worthy the cause. When we gave, we wanted our funds to be used for the purpose they were solicited in the first place. Now, if an event organizer or charity fund, etc. found they needed to use our funds elsewhere or in a different manner, all they needed to do was to give us a call, explain the situation and 9 out of ten times it was A-OK. And, we very much appreciated their professionalism in making that call. They stayed on the nice list and did not get moved to the "naughty" list for future consideration. As with most things...it is all about communication.

I think it is, but you could give them a call at: 940-565-2428 … just to be sure before you go.

$800???? I wish! -
Hey, no problem...they can just forge mail-in ballots like the folks in Tarrant County did to help their Dem pals. Oops..too bad they goy caught. Who needs voter verification anyway? There is never any fraud. Oh, wait...check that. And, by the way, these folks sure weren't lazy or un-motivated as they took a lot of time forging all those mail-in ballot signatures. Too funny. And, guess what...they were not Native Americans. I guess they had street addresses.

Since it is this early in the season and bowl predictions are pretty much meaningless right now...I'll make a prediction.. UNT VS ALABAMA in the Sugar Bowl. Hey, it is as valid as any other bowl prediction in October. Go Mean Green!

If you are talking about Mason Fine...he is a junior.

Indeed it is...and indeed you are! Be there Mean Green people.

Refs were definitely a tad "off" their game TODAY. Note: I am trying to stay civil with my comments here. They spotted the ball incorrectly a minimum of three times...clearly bad spots, they missed several USM holding calls, Fine was hit late, I am calling "you know what" on the mystery forward pass fumble ( and you did note that they reviewed the play where UNT stripped the ball from the USM runner AND the play where the UNT runner was clearly down) and they could have called a personal foul against USM on that "fumble" play as well, but did not. Did I miss anything? But, better to be "politely questioning" the refs after a win than a loss... one-hundred percent better!

Gundy isn't going anywhere until Gundy wants to go at this point. But...let him have a 7-win season this year (or worse) and the boosters (and AD Holder) will begin to stir. Right now...Gundy is fine. Boone still likes him. Ha!

With all the Seth to Texas Tech talk, I think it important to note that Tech just beat TCU in Ft Wirth tonight. Tech outplayed TCU with some pretty interesting offense and defense adjustments. Especially since Tech is missing several starters including their QB and Center. Frogs not looking so good this year. Wonder what is going on at TCU? Is the “bloom off the rose” or what? I don’t know as I don’follow TCU. But, was happy to see Tech win for the possible coaching ramifications. Anyone have any thoughts on what is going on with TCU? Seems like a bad home loss for the Frogs and a big road win for Tech. As I sadly recall...Tech also beat Okie State in Stillwater recently as well.

UNT just announced the date and time for this year's BASKETBALL MADNESS event at the Super Pit. October 18th at 7:00pm - Admission is Free! Doors open at 6:30pm. 3-Point shooting contest and post-event autograph signing event. Performing will be the UNT Drumline, UNT Cheerleaders, UNT Dancers, Scrappy, DJ Question Mark, the North Texas Emeralds and "dance groups". Giveaways and contests throughout the night. COME ON OUT...should be a fun event and a nice little preview of this year's rendition of the men's and women's squads.

Folks...Mason is now in first place in the fan voting, but we need to keep voting. You can vote once per day. I tend to forget to vote from time to time, but this thread helps me remember. Let's keep it near the top of the football section so it will help us remember to vote. Bump it up if you need to do so, but VOTE! Please...pretty please and thank you!

Weather & Attendance for Southern Miss Game
KRAM1 replied to GreenTexan13's topic in Mean Green Football
My thoughts are that I will extremely happy when the thought of any sort of weather would impact our crowds to any degree. THAT is when we will know that, as a fan base, we have "grown up" and are acting like the big boys. That being said, we are not there as yet. Getting better by the season, but still a bit to go. I would predict a decent sized crowd even with a bit of rain. Maybe not as much tailgating and certainly not another record crowd, but I do think a decent number on the day even if a bit of rain rears its ugly head! The fan base is "growing up" and growing bigger, but not to the point that bad weather doesn't matter quite yet.
