  1. The way these guys play once they hit the court is on them... Minus me all you want, but if you were actually at the game you know this loss is on the players. If Tony does not step up he will be a second rounder at best! Cannot believe how poorly these guys executed...how many turnovers? How many front ends of one and ones missed? How many rebounds lost? How many threes jacked up from forever out? Don't think Benford is responsible for all those air balls....Mitchell gave up because of Mitchell's own attitude and want to....if he is a lottery pick, he takes this game over and puts the team on his back. Don't know about anyone else who was actually in attendance, but I missed the part where anyone cared enough to take this game over and make it happen. Correct me if you saw anyone other than Franklin actually giving that a try.
  2. How about someone hold these players responsible? That display out there this evening was All On Them! Plain and simple...seems like this group just does not give a you know what how they play or if they win or not. Seems to be to be a bunch of individuals with Zero on court leadership. Franklin tries, but I don't think his personality is such....so, who is there to say...let's do this and take over a game. At this point, certainly not Tony....I just do not get it. But, this game is not on RV, not on Benford....this mess of a game is 100 percent on the players on the court. No way this group should have lost this game...No Way! I guess what seems so frustrating to me is that THIS team was suspossed to be good...really good! No such expectations for this year's football team, but expectations were High for the BB team. See you Saturday for the LaLa game....but, this one tonight hurt.
  3. This is getting nuttier and nuttier!
  4. I'd love to have Texas State over say...Middle Tennessee or Western Kentucky.
  5. This! My opinion...much harder for Mac to "rebuild" UNT's program after the last few years of results than for Coker to build from the ground up. If I were a coach (which thankfully I am not) I would much rather build a new program from the ground up that try to "re-build" one that has seen tough times for several years running. Like build a house...it is "easier" to build from the ground up than it is to remodel and existing structure. Much more enthusiasm and much less negativity surrounding UTSA than UNT at the moment. The negativity from UNT's so-called fans, does not help in any way. UTSA does not have to face that problem at the moment. Seems to me that UNT fans often do all they can to be "part of the problem" Mac faces rather than trying to be part of the solution. Always pointing to negatives or trying to compare apples to oranges just is not helping.
  6. Point being? You aren't getting ready to paint that fire hat orange and blue and move to San Antonio to be with what seems to be your new most favorite coach or anything I hope...these type of psuedo-comparisons really have no validity. Lots of folks win someplace and not others...we'll see how this goes...right now, I'm with Mac you can have Coker!
  7. I see what you are saying...but, beating anyone helps recruiting more than losing does. Just my opinion. Don't know who is correct here as we haven't done much winning in the last 8 years to tell.
  8. You know what? My Dad always told me that it just was not a smart idea to be a wise ass, smart off to or run from a guy with a badge and a gun! When the guy with the badge and gun say "shut up and stop" it is usually a pretty good idea to do so. The rest can be worked out later.....you never know "which" cop with the gun and badge you are dealing with...best to not smart off and resist arrest and find out the hard way. That logic would seem to have worked in this case pretty well.
  9. All sports are based on a lot of "we hope". Never a sure thing in any level of sport. That's pretty much why they play the games. Without hope for "next year" there should would be a lot of ever depressed sport team fans. Yet, they hang in there with their teams. So, you bet, Emmitt, lot of "hope" here....just like the vast majority of teams at every level across this great nation of ours. Now, will the Mean Green turn that "hope" into a sense of reality in 2013? I guess we will all see soon enough. Until then, I am definitely full of that hope stuff for the Mean Green. No guaranty in life....got to have hope. And, along with that "hope" I will take a big helping of effort, work, recruiting, buy in, planning and building as well. Fans can hope, team must work!
  10. Who here thinks this schedule will hold up? Not this guy.....are we really speculating on the 2019 OCC schedule and moaning about it in 2012? If this doesn't show how some folks just want to see a half empty glass all the time, I doubt that anything will. I would guess that by 2019 UNT will have a new President even...I would think, but I hope I am wrong, that Dr. Rawlins will want to retire before 2019. Anyway, I am thinking about the 2013 schedule.....it is going to be much more fun than this past one....bank on that folks!
  11. I like how this UNT/UTSA thing is beginning to shape up. Finally UNT will have someone close to home and in Texas to have some fun with on an annual basis in both FB and BB. How great will that be...FINALLY? It is A-OK with me if the UTSA folks wants to brag...they deserve some credit for what they have accomplished to date, but UNT will be "all in" for these games...the tailgate atmosphere and the stands should be full and lively at both places. This is going to be fun and it is what helps make college football and basketball so much better than the pro game. So, bring it on UTSA folks....let's build a friendly rival game and make this a MUST ATTEND affair home and away. Hope to see you in 2013, and as my earlier post stated, UNT takes down UTSA in 2013! Book it, Danno!
  12. Thought this thread was about the UNT- UTA BB game Wednesday evening at the Super Pit. So, going that route, let's be the optimist here...odd for me, right? I am going to predict a UNT win on Wednesday for the men against UTA. I do think it will be an exciting and close game, but the good guys get it going down the stretch and the Mavs cannot hang with the pressure. So, good guys win by 8 in regulation....See you at the Super Pit Wednesday!
  13. If so, tylermeangreen may know of this guy. Any east Texas inside info on this guy?
  14. ThAnks for the tidbits of info. Really hated to miss my first Coach Mac show of the year. How was the crowd and did he buy a round of beers for those present this time?
  15. Indeed. Same could be said about some college fans as well. The grasp on reality is slippery for some it seems. Good point, Dozer.
  16. Plus one for you, Sir! Really think this is a great response, Silver...appreciate the thoughts here. It points to what I seem to mention time and time again...and that is that the attitude of many of UNT's so called fans is actually part of the problem. I have always felt that what happens to someone is about 10 percent of the problem....the other 90 percent is what they do about it...that is their attitude. Mean Green fans CAN be part of the solution but so many continue to be part of the problem. People here are saying that Mac quit...that 's pure crap...there is no quit in that man...but I would say that there is plenty of quit in a good many of those who claim to support UNT. Time for an attitude change around this joint.
  17. Man..last show of the year. I have made every one, but am still in San Diego and will miss this one...bummer! It should be a good one....tell all the other regulars hello for me. Wish I could be there.
  18. Man, the doom and gloom around here SUCKS! Some people might need to see someone about an attitude change...just sayin... OK, right now...book it Danno..my first prediction for the 2013 season....UNT takes down UTSA by 17 in 2013! Seriously...you can take it to the bank right now and spend it...no way you will have to pay it back....UNT takes down UTSA in 2013!
  19. How could we tell the difference from the "everyday sky is falling" meltdowns we get? Just askin...... Smiling....
  20. Hmmmmmm...I think I see what you have done here.....could it really be?
  21. How did this get to be about Obama and if "my experiences" didn't matter, why did you mention it in the first place? So, now it is about Wal-Mart and handicapped workers and their rights? Cool...love the idea that Wal-Mart reached out to this segment of the population as I personally have a ton of experience with a handicapped child and know first hand about this...plus the bride has worked in the field and has advanced degrees and certifications in this area. So, let's talk about this one.....thanks to Wal-Mart for even starting this program...many many other employers would not even venture into this area...IF Wal-Mart feels one is ready for promotion...handicapped or not...that is their business and their choice...they do not need union fat cats telling them what they can and can not do...and would the union fat cat bosses make these handicapped workers pay union dues????? Probably as they are really all about lining their own pockets at the expense of their workers. Want to talk about policy...how about the fact that the new health care law will result in fewer hours for these folks...thus less income. What are your union buddies going to do about that? Just asking. Thanks for the big boy language reply...I get your point...I have lived your point in many ways over many years...so, I get it...but unlike you, I thank Wal-Mart for dipping their toe into this area....In no way do I think they are taking advantage and in no way should any union at any level get involved...they would do nothing but cause Wal-Mart to drop the program.....my opinion of course.
  22. It is because liberals always seem to make it personal...you know ZERO about any of us...to even associate me with the tea party movement shows how very little you actually know...what are you...12 years old or something that you need to use foul language to try to make a point? I don't condone the personal stuff flowing either way.... You can by the union crap all you want, but if you want to try to make a point...how about using big people language and bring it up a notch or two? Now...that being said...just what is your point? Happy to listen if you use big boy language.....I'll wait patiently because all I have heard from the union yahoos is all about wages and benefits...so, do tell...what IS it all about?
  23. Seriously? It has come to this for you already?
  24. Indeed...time for the Mean Green to schedule fewer of the early season OCC big dogs...until ......
  25. You really think Mac quit? I don't think "quit" is even in his vocabulary....did not get to see or hear the game against WKY....so, I know others who did have more basis to speak that me on this one, but I am speaking to the character of the man here, and I don't think the guy knows how to quit. I realize folks are VERY frustrated about this season...sure, so am I, and so is the team. But, quit? Doubtful...very doubtful. In my opinion....
