Good point..I hope you are correct.

Who is "Kran" and why are you so obsessed with him? Man crush perhaps? Smiling....... I'll see if I can find "Kran" and see if his cousin KRAM would like to do a press conference instead....OK, sure...which station ... What time? Can Mo Green come out and play too? Funny guy this Mo Green!

Oh, I see...good one, Emmitt! We are definitely having fun now....yes? Yes! You get a plus 1 for this effort...loved it.
-
Oops...good catch, Sir...darn spell check on an I-Pad! I will not comment on your use of "your" here....funny..but humor is good, right?
-
Hey, I understand your feelings, and why you might feel that way...but, would appreciate some respect for a different view...my support is unconditional...if you want to p,ace conditions on yours that's A-OK....to each his own and I have no problem with it. It is just not me...frustration is one thing...read my posts in other threads and you will clearly see I am as frustrated with the way this BB season is going right now as anyone...but my personal sky is not falling because of it...never will based on some sporting contest...lose and you get to go at it again....not THAT important. So, for me...yep fun...love watching UNT play...win, lose or draw...frustration is another matter...right now this guy is very frustrated, but will I have fun Saturday at the LaLa game? Absolutely? Why the heck not? Choices...we all make 'me. We win some ... We ,one some. How that turns out is pretty much all attitude.

Navy man, huh? I just knew there was something askew...Air Force veteran here...Fight on! Ha!

I see nothing "moral" about this. Basketball is pretty amoral in definition. It is what it is. Fans are definitely disappointed and, indeed some are hanging by a thread...but, I don't see a moral issue.

BINGO! This I can buy....even the part about Benford cutting some of these guys out of the mix. Indeed does remind one of the old three J's days in Mavs land. Excellent point here CurveItAround. If UNT is going to lose, might as well lose with guys who will work their tails off to try to win and try to work with whatever system the coach asks them to play. I am looking forward to seeing what happens Saturday against LaLa. If it's a win will Benford get the credit for a good coaching job or will it be all the players who did the winning in spite of poor coaching? Is this a no win for Benford with many of our fans while it's a no lose with the fans for a group of severely underachieving players at this point in the season? Make a few front ends on those 1 and 1 fouls shots, grab a defensive rebound, try not turning the ball over in double digits, hit a shot or two in the second half and last night would have been a Mean Green win in the bag. Here's hoping that happens Saturday against LaLa. If for no other reason than the mental stat of the Mean Green Nation.

Well, speaking of bright sides...the sun did come up this morning. It's a beautiful day in Mean Green Land this morning. And if you think there is no "bright side" in North Texas sports these days you have not been following the volleyball, tennis, soccer, swimming/diving and golf teams. I get it, most think only of the Big Two (FB & BB) and that's understandable, but there are several very bright spots in UNT sports these days.

Mo...serious and honest question...why do you have such a grudge against RV? Lots of folks here seem to be able to criticize RV from time to time, but all but every post you make here and on the other board seem to be a rant against RV. So, honest question...what's the deal? You sound like a spurned lover. Seems you guys looked pretty friendly in Hot Springs after a game one night in the team fan bar. If you so dislike RV, why even hang out with him?
-
Could be right, but is it not a players responsibility to at least attempt to execute the plan given?
-
Really...do we know if Benford is not coaching these guys or if these guys are not listening? Seems UNT has a pretty experienced group of assistant coaches around Benford and I seem to recall many of those now calling for his head along with RV's being the same ones just a few short months ago praising this hire as brilliant and that adding the assistant coaches that were added to the staff made it all the much a better hire. Interesting and quick change of opinion. I heard Benford yelling all night for the guys to "move" which tells me tat the team had not been listening to what was coached in practice....if they stand around and do not move is it not harder to get the ball inside to TM? If a team does not do as the coach coaches is tat on the coach or the players or both? Basketball folks...please respond...Cooley, Tasty, CMJ, NT03? Others?
-
For those who think the players were blameless and this is all on Benford, you might want to check out Mitchell's tweet after the game. No real confirmation one way or the other but basically said they were "terrible " against UTA. That seems to me to be an indication that the players and TM in particular were not happy with their play.

Thanks...appreciate the apology...even if it is half hearted. I never knew that one would consider the critique of what is seen as poor effort and play by a team as "farting rainbows", well, thanks for pointing that out to me. So, let me get this straight....if I post something positive, you consider it "farting rainbows", but if I criticize what I perceive to be lack of effort by players leading to a loss, that is also "farting rainbows". One of us is very confused here I believe. Either that or you are just trying to hard. But, do appreciate your opinion and the apology.

OK, now that's funny.
-
Seriously? Is this true...scouts don't care? Asking only as I am not a fan of the pro game at all, so do not follow it...but, this seems strange. Did not the Dallas Mavs just dump a guy who can play because of attitude or something close to that? Also...I heard this evening that ESPN is reporting that Tony's draft status is dropping due to his play. I hope this is not true, as I agree with the "potential" thing, but there seems to me to be a big difference between a lottery pick, a first rounder and a second rounder when it comes to the NBA. So, working hard during the season could pay off a bit above potential it would seem, but the NBA guys certainly know more about it than I do.
-
Indeed!
-
On this we agree 100 percent! Excellent point!
-
So, being petulant is the proper way for Tony to show his frustration? I'd bet those NBA scouts loved that. Missing practice is the way a team leader responds and shows leadership? Really? And folks think that is OK in any way shape or form? Missing practice, really? If I were coaching he would have not even suited out or been on the bench for the game. So, if Benford let him off by just sitting out the first couple of minutes of the game, then, yes, THAT is a bad coaching decision in my opinion.....to all who might want to disagree, note I said my opinion. One more of those if I were coach Tony could relax and play pick up at the rec center to stay in shape as he would no longer be on the team. Better to have that attitude gone than poisoning the rest of the team! Here's hoping that the posted rumor of skipping practice is just that a rumor. Every time I have spoken to Tony, he has been polite and humble. Seems like a really good young man to me, so I'll hope it is nothing more than a rumor. If not, bad decision by Benford to let him see any court time tonight. Sad to hear this, and says a lot about what I saw from the players this evening in general.
-
Just...who rattled your cage? Pot meet kettle. I have my opinion, and I have as much right as anyone to defend it....I think my opinion has merit and I staying with it...tight panties or not, and since you care about my panties so much, I'll ask you to get your nose out of them. Why do you care if my panties are tight? My opinion might be different from some others...it is obvious you have zero of any substance to add....you might want to review Army of Dad, UNT90 and Emmitt's responses to my posts to see how nature people respond. Or you can check out GreenBat, FFR and your response to see how not to do it.
-
No problem at all....classy response...just a difference of opinion....players who are rated as highly as these players were said to be should play with passion and heart...saw very little of that tonight. Yes, I am frustrated...but unlike several others I will not quit on this team or this program. I saw way too many crappy shots and crappy body language and crappy and sloppy play from these guys tonight to last a season.....I staying with it...this one is on the players....just my option, Emmitt....and, yes, I do indeed know you were in attendance. Just as you are whenever you are not on duty. As to regressing...no, but maybe they spent too much time being told how great they were going to be, and maybe they are too young to realize that other teams are not just going to lay down for them in awe like happens at the rec center and during summer pick up games. I don't know...maybe all our basketball experts here on GMG.Com do, but what I do know is that I saw a team lose a game they should have easily won this evening due to lack of interest, discipline and "want to". Everyone is certainly welcome to their own opinions....I have mine and I'm sticking with it!
-
Tried to find you to say hello...caught up with Quoner and Caribbean Green and several others, but missed you. Take it easy on those ushers...they are not the ones jacking up the threes and letting some Polish guy take them to school on the court! :-) Check with you Saturday...conference game...we'll see if that means anything!
-
He will be if he doesn't start playing better, and acting on the court like he even cares.
-
Really? So no loss is ever on the players? Interesting perspective. If the players don't care enough to even act like they care...in my book that's on them. I guess we disagree...that's OK as I know we are all frustrated and disappointed right now. But, lose to LaLa and lose with no heart as this team did this evening and things may really get interesting. No, I am not giving up on this team, nor am I giving up on Coach Benford....just venting a bit of frustration. Yes, I am grumpy this evening after watching that game tonight in person....but, the sky is not falling and there will be a new game Saturday....see you there! Anyone actually at the game and who experienced that mess of an effort by this group of individuals, feel free to chime in...if you were not there to actually witness this in person...just keep your hat to yourself.
