  1. "Cowardly"...did you really use that word to describe that situation? Come on...a bit of overkill, wouldn't you say? If not, would love to be a fly on the wall when you say that to Benford's face. Because surly if it's OK to call some one's act "cowardly" on a message board, it's OK to do the same in person, right? It may, in your opinion, not be the proper thing to do, but, "cowardly" seriously? Overkill.
  2. I think we can all "reserve judgement", Sarge. Did not see anyone calling for the gallows, just discussing how stupid it is to place oneself in this position in the first place. Let's all hope it turns out well.....or, at least as best it could given the sheer act of stupidity by these guys!
  3. Hard to believe these guys sometimes....why? You know...just what in the sam hill were you thinking? Bottom line...they were not thinking. Stupidity at its "best" on display here...good grief. Yes, will be interesting to see how this plays out. I know how it would play out if I were the HC.
  4. I get it!
  5. FroggyStyle probably lives with his Mom at home and curls up with his Justin Bieber posters and dolls for "fun". Thus the need to work so hard for attention.
  6. Agree. Would love to have played that schedule, but you are correct when you say UNT coaches would know much of nothing about the team at this point if it had. Also agree with you about JJ...loved the guy, but he is now at LSU. Wish him nothing but the best at LSU, but JJ is no longer at UNT. Funny how many were bashing JJ about schedules while he was at UNT, now he gets praises for the scheduling of weak sisters. Time will tell. For me...I hope both JJ and Coach Benford turn out to be "coaches of the Year" in their respective conferences...if not this year than the next. See you at the Pit for a UNT win Sunday!
  7. Well, put me in the camp that thinks this was what was going to happen, and that the Rangers will be fine. I liked Josh's bat...when it was in the line up and when he wasn't in some funk like at the end of the year. But, what i have seen is a great hitter whose body is beginning to give out on him due to years of abuse. he wanted this long term contract and he got it, but i do think you will see the Angles "stuck" with that long term deal and a player who cannot stay in the lineup. Josh is one slip-up away from imploading, and that is not something I would want to risk that sort of $$ and that many years on...good for the Angels, but I think this is a good deal for the Rangers. Pitching wins in this game. Rangers need pitching, not a long term deal for mega-millions with Josh. Will the Rangers miss his bat...oh, sure, but would this have been a good deal for the rangers? Nope...and I don't think it's a good deal for the Angels. They signed Pujols to a long term deal as well...don't know how that will work out either, but he is an aging slugger as well. Lots of money and long term deals. I predict some dumping of players and contracts by the Angels in the next couple of years. The Angels better win this next year or the "big deals" will catch up with them. Sorry to see Josh go...loved the guy, but good for the Rangers.
  8. Please explain how it is relevant to MEAN GREEN FOOTBALL? I give you that it is, indeed, relevant to college football and interesting as a discussion topic...no problem with that at all...however, it is not Mean Green Football which just happens to be the title of this thread area. There is another area where this can and should be discussed...along with any other keen stuff that just happens to not be about Mean Green football. I know this happens because this is one of the two most read thread areas and folks want to see their topics discussed. I get that, and can sympathize with the point. BUT, this is just not the place and should not be used as the dumping ground for all things...just the dumping ground for all things related to UNT Football...or, how about renaming the thread College Football?

    Did you pass?
  10. I too would ask why we constantly post non-UNT football stuff in the UNT football thread? Even the mods do it...the head mod even. Why? There is a spot reserved for that here on the board...at least I thought there was one. Come on folks...please...this non-UNT stuff does not belong on this one. Not saying it should not be discussed...it should...it is interesting...but, please post it where it belongs. Thanks.
  11. Do we really know if this was all on Dodge? Would like to know or hear from a member of that team who might have a fairly decent insight into this. I ask, not because I disagree with UNT90, but because I don't know for sure and am not sure anyone except those "in the hose" know fr certain. Does seem strange that the kid never caught on anywhere else...being that he was so highly rated and all. Strange indeed, UNT90, strange indeed.
  12. Oh...the Kramster is the embodiment of Hip Hop!
  13. Winner of the Offensive Scout Team player of the year award at the recent football banquest.
  14. For me, I am happy that many of these coaches are passing us by...if that is really the case at all. I know questions remain, but I cannot help but be excited about what 2013 may bring for the Mean Green. Yes, you can call me crazy as well...maybe even certifiable like DeepGreen has indicated that he may resemble, but all the pieces seem to be fitting into place for Mac and the Mean green to break out a bit next season. No, I am not saying 12 wins, but I think the pieces are in place for the Mean Green nation to have a positive and winning season in 2013. There is a Santa, right? I believe in the Mean Green Santa!
  15. Harry...is this now the Mean Green/Mustang BB thread? Just having some fun with ya!
  16. Whoa...holiday season babies!!! Greatness...hope you both have a great birthday today. It is your day after all, so make it a great one. As Harry said...appreciate all you do for the great Mean Green Nation! here's wishing you many many many more HAPPY birthdays!
  17. My bride and I went two years ago. It was an item on my bucket list. Absolutely the BEST football experience I have ever had....bar none! Sat in an are with Navy folks on one side and Army on the other side of me. The respect these folks have for both teams is amazing. While they cheered for the respective teams, they applauded the good work by the opposing teams as well. The walk-on is not to be missed. Navy won this game as it has the last eleven in a row, but after the game it was great to see everyone enjoying parents, Mids and Cadets alike in one happy "family". They cheer and cheer hard for their teams, they hope and pray f,or victory, but they all know what is really important and what is not. Seniors on both teams were heading off to service in a few short months, and the respect was there for all to see. Cannot say enough about this game and the experience of seeing it in person. I highly recommend going at least once. You wil not be sorry you did.
  18. So, now I know who to go to for the winners in future years. My bookie will be so sad that I actually win once in awhile! OK, kidding on that as I don't bet on games. But, great job and contrats to the winners! Well done!
  19. The Army-Navy Game...GO NAVY!!!!...is always my favorite non-UNT college football game of the year....ALWAYS! To me it's more enjoyable to watch than the National Championship game in college ball o=r the Super Bowl in the pro game...yes, I like it that much. It's a game where "student-athlete" actually means it and where few, if any, on either side have pro football career thoughts. So, yes, for me, it is EXACTLY what the college game is all about. So, laying that foundation, I ran across what i think is a great quote related to that annual game...I do not know who to credit with the quote...if someone else does, please let us know... Here goes... "SHOW ME A GAME WHERE EVERYONE PLAYING IS WILLING TO DIE FOR EVERYONE WATCHING". GREATNESS! And, that folks is one reason I think this is the GREATEST College Game played each and every year. GO NAVY!
  20. I am spent some time thinking about tylermeangreen's excellent post and some of the replies that have been both supportive and some not so supportive of his position. And, I think for me it all comes down to this..."it's not always what you say, it's how you say it" that can be the challenge for some folks...myself included. The personal attacks on fellow GMG.Com members, on RV, on players and coaches and on staffers has just gotten to be far far too common on the board. One can disagree and still be professional and "adult" in the way they do the disagreeing. I have no problem with many of those on here who have completely the opposite views that I have on many things...including politics. I have no problem with them and enjoy reading their posts because they respond in a sensible and professional way...no name calling, no vendetta, none of that garbage. I think it is past time that we all think about this. If the only way you can respond is to make it personal, then maybe you might want to think about why it is you have so much anger and why you have so little ability to express yourself in any other manner. I think everyone here enjoys the differences of opinion...doubt many of us would post much if everyone else always agreed. That's the point of a message and fan board as some here have pointed out. Traffic on the board is always up when there is a bit of disagreement. But, folks, think just a bit before you post a reply and how you post it. Playing nice in the sandbox with the other kids does not mean you have to agree...it only means that you should disagree in a professional, public and adult manner. Just my opinion after giving this thread and the various responses some "thinking time".
  21. yes-at least that is what I have heard from a couple of sources over the last couple of years.
  22. Stalker?
  23. Does he know where his dog is?
  24. Excellent news! Thanks, Dozer. I am very proud of our student athletes, and the emphasis our coaches are placing on academics. This was not always the case at UNT, and it is now something we can ALL be very proud to be associated with.
  25. Then make sure you are there with the rest of us to help that number...just sayin.....
