  1. Where is/was the dishonesty? Go read my posts...go check out the “considered it” and “weighed the pros and cons” quotes from Mason himself. Nothing, nada, zilch I wrote was dishonest. Nothing and I stand by every word...yep...I own them. So, you go ahead and make accusations if it makes you feel better. I’m good. And will refrain from replying in kind.
  2. Good article. And if Ejiya does not get drafted...there is no justice! Guy just has the break the drought.
  3. Agree. Never thought about “conspiracy” against UNT, Mason or any of the other candidates. Just din’t like being “played” by this fake fan vote.
  4. Except I did and he did.......Are you better with “weighing the pros and cons of transferring”? I realize I am old, but that sounds like he considered it to me. But, heck you never know with the definitions folks use these days. Maybe it is my “old school” definition of words and meanings. But, if I had publicly announced to the board of my bank that “I had weighed the pros and cons of taking a new position offer at another bank” I think they could rightly assume I had “considered” leaving. But, hey...old school meanings. I am just glad that Mason cleared it up with a response. A good one and well stated. Shows, yes, that he owned the situation, owned his words...as we all do like it or not...and just ended the “noise”. I will say it again...it is done. Time to move on to UTSA, bowl game and next season.
  5. Nope...it is a joke the way it is now set up. Ditch the fake fan vote and make it obvious that it is for “big school” players only and it’s all good. As it is now...total joke. What did these finalists get.....less than a 1000 fan votes total???? Yep...that’s legit! Joke. I take nothing away from the “quality” of the finalists...I take everything away from the Joke of an award criteria.
  6. Yep...heard him say he considered transferring....what part of that is hard for you to understand....he confirmed it here. Soooooo, yep. I think I’m good. You can read it anyway you want. You might also want to go back and actually read what I have said instead of trying to make this some sort of personal vendetta. He made a mistake in how he answered the question. He knows it...he has learned from it. I stand by everything I have said which was spelled out pretty well I think. Time to move along...as I also said. Why you seem to want to carry this on is puzzling.
  7. Time to let this go. Mason has issued his statement and, for me, has put this little “controversy” to bed. Never to be mentioned again. I am sure he learned a bit about “words, their meanings and their consequences” and how to better respond to potential “mine field” media questions. I take his statement at face value and appreciate his honesty. Am certain he got a little help, as so he should have, in crafting his response. If so, good for him. A little “learning episode” here. Thanks to Mason for “owning this” and dealing with it in a professional and respectful manner. Time to move along and go back to considering the UTSA game and the Mean Green’s bowl game. And, of course, how grateful we are that this young man is the Mean Green’s QB.
  8. I saw it on Facebook posted by the athletic dept as one of the Post-game or mid-week interviews. Mason confirmed it himself. So, those saying Vito made it up or “suckered” anyone are simply mistaken. This should never have been mentioned by Mason if he had already made up his mind to stay. Simply use the old “no comment” or answer more like I suggested in an earlier post. I think I am done with this topic. I have said my peace and will move along understanding that my sense of loyalty, gratitude and respect is just “old school” these days. And, cheer for Mason and the Mean Green to beat UTSA, win a bowl game and have a great “next year”. He’s our guy and I support him and the rest of the Mean Green 100%.
  9. You obviously have not seen the clip.
  10. He most certainly did! Saw the video clip...heard him say he considered transferring. Confirmed by Mason himself on the video. So, yep...he did.
  11. Don’t care to debate this with you. You are free to your opinion...As I am free to have mine. Mine says it is a JOKE of an award based on the current criteria and fake “fan vote”. Eliminate the fake fan vote and re-set the criteria so “big school only” players qualify and maybe it can regain some credibility. Right now...JOKE!
  12. ....to be a TCU fan these days. Football team struggling mightily to become bowl eligible, and now its “was nationally ranked” basketball team gets beat by Lipscomb. Lipscomb is not a bad team and is going to beat a bunch of teams, but had not beaten a ranked team since 2006, and was 0-13 against ranked teams before beating TCU. And, then there is that big joke Davy O’Brian award that some associate at least in part with TCU.
  13. Again...I stand by my words. It is a joke of an award. Either you award the “best” considering all playing levels or re-set the criteria and limit to certain levels. Either the fan vote counts for something or do away with it entirely. As it is, the award is a joke.
  14. Nope...heard Mason talk about it. My words and feelings stand.
  15. Yep...last time I ever look at that site. Pure BS and a joke. But, they did “hook” us into going to their site over and over and over again. Hits matter in the world of the Internet, right? What a joke. FFR was spot on from the very beginning. We should have listened and totally ignored this joke of an award!
  16. I am of the opinion this was better left unsaid. Obviously someone leaked this or the question would not have been asked. I just don’t get this ... UNT the ONLY DI and only HC actively pursuing him and telling him that despite his size, he was “the guy” with “the talent” and “the leadership qualities” to turn this program around. Even Gundy has publicly said that they (and others) passed simply because of his size. Littrell and UNT did not! And, the fan base and university and community has embraced this kid like none other. I find this a bit odd and out of what I thought was the kid’s character. But, in this day and age of “me first” and “situation loyalty”, I guess it could have been expected. I love this kid and am super happy he will play another year at UNT before heading somewhere else as a grad transfer for a final year. But, just a little of the shine is off the Rose for me. I know I come from a different age with a different view of what “loyalty and respect” mean, so I realize this hits me differently than some. But, for me, this made me a little sad to even hear about. After what I saw as the ultimate team player and leader and loyal Mean Greener comes out and says that he considered transferring for his senior year, well, for me, that bursts the bubble. Still, great kid...great player and really happy he is returning for his senior year. Just wish he had said something like “sure I considered it but only for a nano second. UNT and Coach Littrell believed in me when no one else did. No way I would leave UNT before I played all four years”. Just me. And, let me also add....Davy O’Brian Award folks have ZERO credibility...zero, none, nada! In fact, they just plain “sold out” to the “big boys”. No way they give a rat’s rear end about the “best player”. Mason got screwed!
  17. Truth...fan base has grown to expect more. Again, much like UNT’s growing fan base expectations. Of, course winning the bowl game would be icing on the cake.
  18. Yep. Coaching graveyard.
  19. Not the best turnout for sure, but OSU can suffer from the same “excuse syndrome” that UNT does. Colder day, 5-win team, lost to OU, WVA is too good”....yadda yadda Yadda. This game coming on the heels of yet another loss to OU did not help. The fan base is fragile...sound familiar? Did you see our attendance Thursday night? Not bad considering...we’ll, that was OSU’s.
  20. We all know what they are thinking too...get UNT into the second half in a close or even not so close game and they will fold down the stretch. I can all but guaranty you the FAU coaching staff has been mentioning those late game and second half-losses. So, time to step-up and demonstrate a bit of "killer instinct" should/when UNT gets that lead in the first half. That re-set button must have been malfunctioning last week. Hope they got it fixed. BEAT FAU!
  21. I soooooo love this post. Inside joke...I know, but, man, TCU pretty much sucks this season. Maybe they need to get a banner!
  22. I am still reeling from that debacle in Norfolk Saturday. For the life of me, I cannot understand how you blow a 28-0 lead! OK, I will just say it...that second half was TERRIBLE! Even Mason seemed off in the second half....missed badly on two passes that would have given us at least 12 more points and most likely 14 more. While ODU is not as poor a team as their record indicates, this should have been close to a cakewalk for the Mean Green in the second half after that 28 in the first half. Sure, the end of the first half did not end well, but still...28-10 going into the locker room. AND YOU LOSE! Really???? Yes, really. So, that pretty much "screwed the pooch" on any hope for a conference showdown, but it did not end the season. Two "winnable games" to go that would give the Mean Green a nine (9) win regular season heading into a bowl game. I wanted more from this team, but I would darn sure take 10 wins a bowl victory for the season. This team is still a work in progress and it still has a ton of upside. Yes, still bummed about Saturday, but my bride and I will be at Apogee on Thursday night to cheer on the Mean Green. Would love nothing more than to follow the Norfolk debacle up with a win over FAU. Cannot miss that...late Thursday night, cold, coming off a bad loss or not...cannot miss Thursday. I do expect our smallest crowd of the year for the reasons already expressed here, but it would be nice to see at least 18,000 in the stands in front of bowl committee folks, and as it is the last home game of the season. Anyway...GO MEAN GREEN!
  23. Mason still in second place...let's get to voting folks. THIS vote matters! You can vote once per day. Easy to do. Together we can get "our guy" in first place!
