Priceless....We have some fans that would fit right in with your guys. Maybe they can all get on the highway and meet halfway and just have a great time talking about firing everyone other than themselves. It could be billed as the world's largest pity party and we could see tickets and split the proceeds...half for each school. Whatvsay you? LOL. :-)

Maybe some of our BB experts can tell us whose coach out coached whose down the stretch. We know whose players stood up and made it happen. Wonder if Coach Benford and Company get any credit? So, what really is the deal....is UNT the team that played FIU or the one that played FAU? Interesting question, huh? Really a puzzle.

Silent Auction Update: Folks, we have some great auction items developing for this year's event... 1) We will have a great UNT Door Wreath handmade by none other than NT03's better half...photo soon 2) We have (2) autographed copies of UNT grad Brant Croucher's great CD "Old Denton Roads" 3) And...rumor has it that we will have autographed copies of Lance Dunbar Photos in both UNT and Dallas Cowboy gear...and we may (MAY) have a Lance Dunbar Autographed Dallas Cowboy jersey! Not promising these items as yet, but if/when they materialize we will get photos up on GMG.Com for all to drool over! Dunbar photos are of him in game action situations as well. Keep your fingers crossed. 4) We also have a Mean Green T-Shirt in 2X 5) More rumor...but may have autographed photos of Coach Mac, Coach Benford and Coach Petersen...all In action". It's early and there will be more items announced as folks donate them or as I am able to procure them...but, I think you can see that this year's auction may just be the best yet! We NEED YOUR HELP! We need more and varied silent auction items. If you cannot play and cannot donate for one reason or another, perhaps you have an item that would be good for the silent auction. And, they do not have to all be UNT related...lots of great items can be used and as you can see from the donated single T-Shirt...they can be of almost any value as well. You can, of course play, donate funds to the event, sponsor the event and donate an auction item as well....anything and all are prefectly fine! :-) PM me if you have any ideas and I can get with you on delivery, etc.

But, they do rely on donors to help cover budgets. Government budget dollars come no where near providing all the costs. And, remember, these guys really don't have "athletic scholarships". Every Midshipman and Cadet is on "scholarship", so the athletic budgets do not ave this pressure, but I can tell you from personal experience that only basics are covered in the govt. provided budget. Donor dollars are still very important to these guys. And, bowl/TV revenue is very beneficial. Navy. 'S budget has been helped a good deal from the bowl games these last few years and the TV dollars from the annual Army-Navy game. But, yes...basics are covered by the taxpayer....the basics. Pretty much like the basics are covered by the taxpayer at state universities as well. And, TV revenue is not as important to these guys....but, still important.

There are some UNT fans that like to attend SMU games it seems, so that should help a little. But, this Big East thing may just end up as a disaster for SMU's attendance numbers...rarely the greatest anyway, this may just be a disaster. Who knows, maybe SMU students, alums and fans will actually turn out for some of bees games. On the other hand, I do think CUSA membership will help UNT's attendance numbers.

Come on to the Mean Green! You will be glad you did....and so will we!

Well, if this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then OK. Still think it is wrong to publicly post this stuff...mainly because it has coach comments attached and could be misunderstood by fans and the public, but if approved by the Athletic Dept.....fine by me. Thanks to UNTNewbie and UNTfan23 for the solid info.

You are more than welcome to your opinions...I am not going to do your work for you. If you want to see where I have stated on several occasions that I was not absolving Benford in all this go look through the threads. Not my job to do that for you...you accused me of never pointing a finger at Benford...so that's your job...not mine. Don't accuse me of something unless you have the facts to back it up...please and thank you. It may be a poor term but you told me that you hoped I would be embarrassed. Sort of personal, don't you think? And, all because I hold a different opinion on something than you! Nice. Why, when I share this opinion, do folks want me embarrassed and jump me when others say the exact same thing and go without reply? Seems sort of personal to me, so that's why i am only responding to posts like this one and not discussing this whole BB team thing on the board any longer...want to discuss it further with me...PM me...I'm done with folks who think it's only OK to have an opinion if you have the same opinion they do...otherwise it becomes personal. Who posted it on Facebook and on what site? Only Facebook page I look at is mine...not a big fan of the thing...too mucgh crap gets posted that not a soul in the world cares about and too many prople find they have major problems after posting something on Facebook for all the world to see. So, no clue it was on Facebook first, but it sure stirred Harry's cabbage that I gave my opinion about it being posted here. That's sort of funny. No matter, I am still of the opinion that posting these things is not good...and I don't care where it was posted first. That's like saying..."well, Johnny did it first...or everyone else does it". Doesn't make it a good thing just because they are..... Again...Harry and others...thought this was an opinion board? maybe it's an "you agree with me and all is well" opinion board, but dare you have different opinion...well, not such an opinion board then. Don't believe that...check out the BB thread lately???? Sometimes it is not about a "right to do something", it is about the right thing to do.

Which game? Been to all the home games (have you?)...watched others on TV and/or internet. As I recall...lots of folks have opinions about this without ever attending a game...home or away. Seems to not matter to them...why do you ask?

If you would be I am just sorry for you...you obviously have no clue and don't read my posts fully nd completely. never have I absolved benford in his role in all this...show me where I have if you can...but, unlike others, i do not make excuses for those that are obviously not palying anywhere near their ablities. If you like that sort of attituide...fine. It's called a diference of opinion. I can live with yours...you guys just don't seem to have the ability to understand that someone might just disagree with you and that doing so is, well, OK. I am NEVER embarrased by UNT, nor embarrased by any personal opinion that I hold (and I have been known to change my opinuion when additional deatails become known to me...even then...never embarrassed)...ever. There is noting to be embarrased about...even if all this stuff that will be "still out there on the internet for all to see". Such a silly statement.
