NO...OK, yes talented...good halftime show....NO!

Ended up as a very exciting game to watch...looked like it was going to be a bore, but what a great second half. Did not like the halftime show at all, but even worse for me was Alicia Keys rendition of the National Anthem. That was close...close, for me, to be the absolute worse rendition that I have EVER sat through. Horrible, but she did look great in that red dress at that white piano...and she CAN sing...just a terrible job with that anthem last night......

Tennis might have something to say about that as would soccer. But, yes, club hockey at UNT is really competitive, and does a great job representing the Mean Green.

I have met the guy and talked with him about UNT for a good bit of time. Don't really know if he is a grad or a mean green club member, but I know he has supported the GMG.com BB game I have run now for three years. Good guy...loves UNT, hires UNT students and works with UNT. Is one of the UNT restaurant partners through the athletic dept. as well. All this, and the food is very good and reasonably priced...went there Sat. After the UNT tennis match.

Went to my first two tennis matches this weekend. On Sat. UNT pretty much destroyed future CUSA mate ODU 6-1. On Sunday, the ladies came back to beat a tougher Lamar squad....it was over at 4-0 UNT, but I don't recall the exact final score. In doubles against Lamar today, UNT made some excellent comebacks after a slow start to take the doubles point, then took care of business in the singles matches. All this, great weather, free admission and they gave us free pizza and popcorn on Saturday, then free bagels, rolls, coffee, juice, fruit, cheese and snacks on Sunday. All this and I got to see UNT win TWICE! Greatness...Coach Lama is doing a great job for UNT...really a family atmosphere with games for the fans at the doubles/singles switchover break! If you have not seen a match, I highly recommend that you stop by and watch one soon. Great fun and these ladies are all business once they step on the court. Really had a great time! Well done ladies! You rock!

I second your comments. Very sorry to hear of this young officer's death. Sad indeed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

You should have been with me in the chat room...got blistered for mentioning FT's...seriously I warn you for your own good! Don't dare to have a different view...remember, this is a discussion board ONLY if you agree with the "usual suspects". It really is no fun anymore...in the BB thread that is...going to leave it with you until some folks can grow up and halfway respect other views and/or lines of discussion. Just not worth the effort. Don't say anything about FT's...you will get blistered! Took a mighty beating in the chat room when I dared to bring that up! Ha! True...don 't mention FT's...I was told in no uncertain terms that we are great at the line...and don't even discuss it again! Serious! Edit: see what I mean...already got a -1 for mentioning it. Some folks have no sense of humor and can't handle a different view...I am convinced that this is no longer a discussion board when it comes to this team....so, better to just read...unless you agree with the "usual suspects" that is...see ya! Remember...we are great at the FT line and it does not matter as we hit 70 percent..and always hit with the game on the line...just ask...they will tell you so.

Agree 100%...as every university at every level in the nation will tell you...not drawing interest from ANY other school is no proven indicator that the kid can't play. Nor that he can play for that matter. Nor, is it an indicator that the kid would have been a good player for that school HAD the school shown interest and offered him. Same goes for speculating on coaching hires. You dance or not with the ones you have.

Darn...and so has OSU, OU, UT, ND, USC, Alabama, Florida, and even LaLa, SMU, Tulsa, Rice, Baylor, A&M, SFA, Monroe and on and on....and UNT has won some games with players that Arky State never offered. I just don't see the point is such comments.

Very true...but it makes for a great legend for all those who want to think that RV screwed up somehow. Folks, was never going to happen...and, unless. You are just delusional or super stubborn, you know it. But, the legend lives on for those who always want to feel slighted or that UNT always makes the wrong choice. I hear Vince Lombardi, Bear Bryant and Knute Rockne stopped by once as well. Can we get this thing going? It would make for extra super legend. Seriously, this constant "what if" stuff just doesn't matter...UNT has the history of HC's that it has and that is not going to change. Best to look forward not back. The future is so much more fun.

All interesting stories and some have some truth to them. But, it is a story that no one knows how it would have ended. Speculation is just that...who knows? But, does make for some interesting "what ifs", but that is all it is...no one knows where any of this would have led.

Competing against the big boys and winning some. Nice! Now...get 'em signed...commits are great....signatures on bottom lines are even better!
