  1. Me too. Guess that means we are officially "old".
  2. or students it seems
  3. Very nice. I really love these Beyond the Green segments. They just keep getting better and better. Glad to see they have been expanded to basketball.
  4. Agree...and also to be fair...some don’t. 😂😂
  5. I am wondering when some of the previous GoMeanGreen.com members that used to attend every home game will come back. If there ever was a great time to attend Mean Green home basketball games, this is it, and the home crowd seems to make a positive difference for the team and their performance. We have seen on Twitter/Facebook, etc. that the players definitely pay attention to the crowd size and crowd support. Rose even gave a Twitter shout out to last night's (Southern Miss game) crowd for their support. Also wondering when the students might embrace this team and start coming to the games in much higher numbers. Crowd size is growing, and the attendance for the last few games has been outstanding. Here's hoping that continues and grows.
  6. They eliminated the "names on the seats" idea many many years ago. There was a plaque in the concourse listing the donors. I looked for that plaque recently during a game, but could not find it. I am wondering if it was taken down during the recent renovations and if it will be returned or not.
  7. Very sad news. Way way too young. I am always surprised when athletes have these "sudden medical issues". I always think of them in tip top medical and physical condition. But, every year we hear some of these tragic stories in high school. college and the pros. Just shows that some medical conditions are very difficult to detect. Prayers for this young man and his family and friends.
  8. I think he meant for the fans thinking of traveling to the game.
  9. Much better position for one thing, but very doubtful Seth would be interested in WVA.
  10. Students don’t seem to really care to come to games it seems. Appears to be a trend across many areas these days. Maybe UT is trying to “create” demand for its tickets through fewer seats?
  11. Rats leaving a sinking ship???
  12. Excellent...thanks..just make sure when you look it up that it’s a regular season home game for Army. I can wait.
  13. Great job UNT!
  14. On any given night.......
  15. Said it before....will say it again...Fine does not play defense. And, to add a bit more, part of a coaching staff’s duty is to have players ready to step in should one player go down. The altitude nor Mason’s injury created this blowout loss....make all the excuses you want, justify it any way you need in order to feel better, but this blowout goes down to a team not ready to play a bowl game. Is what it is....a tough ridiculous loss. Hopefully, a learning moment for both players and coaching staff. It’s over. Hopefully there will be another chance for a bowl win next season...if so, hopefully the team and staff are ready to go and win the thing. And, the Mean Green nation will show up just like it did in Dallas, New Orleans and Albuquerque. Look at the bright side...lots of Mean Green fans learned how to spell “Albuquerque” without relying on spell check!
  16. Did Houston beat Army in a regular season game? Just like UNT did within the last 3-4 years?
  17. I have to agree with you 100%! The City of Albuquerque, the New Mexico Bowl folks, the fans, etc. treated us like kings and queens. And, yes, for bowl costs, very reasonable and an easy “get to” place. Stadium was fine, tailgate was fantastic...Sadie’s did a great job with the catering...and it was very well attended. The absolute ONLY downer was the game itself. We had a great time attending this bowl game, and would have absolutely no problem returning for another shot at winning this thing.
  18. Well, if you were in Albuquerque you might forgive him for being a bit of a “half-full” guy right now.
  19. Heard in New Mexico that there is a possibility of some coaching changes this time around. Nothing specific, just a head’s up that some might be changing. I know...just rumor no real info. We shall see.
  20. Lots of cool and creative excuses here, but that is all they are...excuses. I don’t mind losing to a clearly better team, but I do mind losing like we did. We were never in this game...with or without Mason. When in Mason was running for his life. He had one nice pocket protection play early where he overthrew our wide open receiver for a missed TD opportunity. Yes, it made a difference when he went out...of course it did, but Mason does not play defense and Utah State are our defense up! Period! They did anything they wanted pretty much from the opening tip. Just a bad day for the Mean Green. They just did not seem ready to go. It is a process and while the process seems to come to a screeching halt at Bowl game time, it is a process. The coaching staff is also learning, and as we saw today...still a good bit of learning to go. It will be interesting to see how many coaches stay for next season. Really disappointed in how we looked today. Had a chance to showcase a rising program on national tv again today...dropped the ball again. Well, next year..on to next year.
  21. Fine doesn’t play defense. Just sayin.....
  22. Exactly. I think this is a decent hire for K-St. If anyone can recruit to that place it is a guy that has been able to recruit and win at North Dakota State!
  23. Says who??? You see the crowd for the MLS Championship game this year? I believe it was 70,000 plus. I do think that reflects at least a modicum of popularity. And, no, I am not advocating for tons of money being spent on advertising the UNT soccer team. They are "selling themselves" and are bringing a great bit of positive publicity to UNT and the entire athletic department. Plus, the team is drawing very nice in-person support these days. Anyway, back to football and the deficit which may or may not be any sort of issue at all. And, oh yes, The Daily loves to write articles that reflect UNT in a bad light. UNT cut their funding a bit, so they have a "grudge" to reflect...or maybe they are just butt hurt over it...or maybe they are just young inexperienced college kids volunteering to work for The Daily, and are suffering the consequences of writing articles without proper research. Who knows? Don't know, but this "deficit" article is simple terrible journalism. Period.
  24. Good thoughts. You may just be right about Arkansas.
  25. Who cares?? Right now the Mean Green sit at 10-1 and looking pretty good. Just like football...start winning and they will come. Especially when you have a young energetic coach like Grant McCasland.
