I know you realize it, but very little of Coach Snyder's salary comes from the state budget for the university. And, he would probably say fine to a reduction as soon as those Assistant Profs start brining in as much money and pr to the university as he and his program does. I think we all realize how donations, overall, to a university rise with successful athletic programs. Even Harvard and Yale acknowledge that fact of life. It would be tough to find a more respected head football coach in America these days than Bill Snyder. When he speaks, the football powers that be really should be listening. Guy is 100% sincere about his profession and realizes what the priorities are for his team....education first! K-State (along with several others...and UNT can be added to the list). Walk the walk when it comes to academics and athletes.

Good luck to Coach Forrest. I am sure he has learned from his résumé "error", and has moved on. It cost him is position and reputation...as it should have as it is never appropriate to lie...but, it is time to move along. He should do well, and I look forward to seeing him at the Super Pit.

Thanks, drex...never any question about your support for the Mean Green. I heard part of that conversation last evening. Way cool. I think Coach Benford first got your bride on the line and she expertly handed the call off to you. It was great having several members of the coaching staffs calling with the volunteers last evening. The basketball programs were well represented with Coaches Petersen, Benford, Lundy, Evans and Luster calling and I also saw, from football, Coaches Brown and Joseph. I certainly did not see all who participated as I was on the first row of phones in the phone bank while others were above me on the second row. I can tell you one thing...Coach Petersen is tough to have next to you when you are on the phone and he is also...that guy is Loud! Ha. Just ask Silver Eagle. I was trying to talk with him with Coach Petersen on the phone next to me. I am certain that Silver thinks I am deaf. Also got to chat with MedPilot21. Thanks for answering the phone guys...and as with drex, I appreciate your continuing support for the Mean Green. And...Oldguy....you are correct, we were not calling folks who had already renewed....appreciate your getting your renewal in with that increase...thanks a bunch. Go Mean Green!

While working the Mean Green Club Phone-A-Thon this evening some good news was shared with me. At this point in the year we are over $100,000 ahead of last year's Mean Green Club donations pace AND We are ahead of last year's pace in football season ticket sales as well. For me, this was excellent news. Here's hoping that donations and season ticket sales continue on this pace. Lots of calls made this evening by Mean Green Club volunteer reps and members of the Mean Green coaching staffs. Thanks to all who volunteered their time to help The Mean Green and thanks to all who actually took our calls and committed support for the Mean Green in 2013-2014. It was a positive experience and a good chance to talk with fellow Mean Greener's. On a side note...everyone I contacted pledged support and were very positive in their comments. Really made me proud to be a member of the great Mean Green Nation!

Way to go...another championship for UNT! Great win for the men...hung in and made it happen...no give up in this team. Super win for the Mean Green!

Is this for real? Makes Zero sense. TOD has Zero to do with athletic eligibility...or it should not. Is age a factor in this? Do you have four years of eligibility up to a certain age? I have no clue, but what else could it be? Talk about a "low blow".

Coach Snyder is a class act. The statement he made should be taken seriously by everyone involved with college athletics today.

Suprise us all one of these days and find something positive to say about something...anything...just anything. This "all negative all the time" is really not the UNT90 I know. Trust me folks...it is not the real UNT90. That guy is a pretty positive guy. I know, hard to believe from posts in the last few months, but it is true...come on 90...where's that positive guy? You can do it...you can do it...yes...you can! Ha! Just pulling your chain a tad!

Waiting on other offers? Hope not...at this point if you commit, you should just go on and sign.....unless....this was a thought I had as well. Hopefully, this is not one of those "place holder" commits. Come on ... Sign already!

Looks like message board folks know more about this guy than even his coaches. Great to have this expertise here on the board. Me, let's see how he fits in and plays once he gets to Denton. Seems we have had players who work out and players who don't. Proof is in the play once they arrive...not in hype or not before that. Here's saying "welcome to the Mean Green".... So...how's all that demanding helping out the Cowboys, Mavs and Stars these days? Seems you are much more of a pro sports fan than a college one. Demand on....

1) Wow...four years...that long... 2) You are obviously hanging around the wrong people. Either that or you can't take a joke or friendly sports "trash talk"...who cares what other people think?...give it back to them in spades...if you can't figure out how to do that...well...work on it. It can be fun. 3) Never ever throw down the gauntlet about what you "will or will not do" if "this or that happens"...makes one look foolish when they don't follow through on their hollow threats...I've seen that from several of our "fans"...makes me smile every time I see them! Don't be one of those. 4) There were not 10 people at the FAU game...some of your friends cannot count. Hyperbole is not good in these cases. 5) The incentive is that it is YOUR university of choice...that's plenty of incentive to keep following. 6) You seriously might need to get another interest or two...if this stuff "breaks your back" you are taking it way too seriously. There are so many bigger and more important things in life than whether UNT wins a game or not. Seriously.... 7) Don't start fires in your apartment. The ownership and your neighbors, not to mention the police and fire departments, will not like that...and 8) I share your pain...it's tough to be Green, but Green we are...by choice I might add. Enjoy the ride...enjoy the time you spend...it goes by really quickly.

If the bill HAD actually been about extended background checks it might have passed. This was simply Obama and the Dems playing on the emotions of the day. This bill would have done NOTHING to stop the Adam Lanza's of the world...all show and some politicians wanting to be able to say "well we did something...aren't we super"...nver mind that the bill was really never going to pass...even in the Dem controlled Senate. Now O gets to stand up and tell the world how he tried and what bad folks that mean ole Senate is...until, of course, he needs the Senate to help him pass his next "bad idea".
