This type of prediction has been made over and over...some are fond of making such predictions to justify their personal position, but rarely do these predictions ever pan out. Most fans come to watch and support the team and try to help get a win. And, believe it or not, some just enjoy college basketball. We'll see you back on the bandwagon when the wins start piling up this season. Besides, you have to be there at least once to ay off he bet money you will owe me...$10,000, right?

North Texas has one of the Best Walk-on Programs in the Nation
KRAM1 replied to AndersonUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Seems an odd comment from someone who was pretty darn close to several walk-on athletes as recently as last season. Hope those guys are not reading this board. ha! -
Would love to attend, but will be flying home from san Diego in order to attend the first game on the 31st. Bummer...should be fun.

Would you date a UNT rival’s cheerleader?

Fun survey...would be interesting to see the results when completed. -

Ladies get commitment from DFW's leading scorer
KRAM1 replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I think we will definitely see increased attendance for the games this year. Coach Pete is doing great things and appears to be building an excellent program. -
Hmmmmmm...see last posts by Glick1980 and oldguystudent. Two who actually have something to add to the discussion other than to say..."hey, look at me, look at me", oh, well.
-
Two things... 1). Thanks for the original response...very puzzling, but appreciate the reply...and 2). There we have it. Seems to have worked out in the end. Great to see, and glad you will get to take the course at UNT. Now, go pass that CPA exam on your first go! Congrats.

Got 'em....and, most importantly got that great parking spot as well. Let's get this on!

Yep..and you don't even have to stand outside the door! You can come in and grab a seat. Unfortunately, I will have to miss this first one as I 'll be out f town, but I'll look forward to seeing you at several of the shows this year.

Seriously? As one who posts on this board is often fond of saying..."Only at North Texas" (and I am not talking about the Business School here). So, can you not enroll in the MS program, take the class and drop out? I had to pick up some undergard courses prior to taking classes for my MBA at UNT...could not register and take the required classes as a non-degree student, so simply enrolled in the MBA program and took the required undergrad classes. Could have dropped out at any time...no problem if I had desired to do so. UNT and most colleges are not simply places where folks go and take one class just because they want to. You seem to be saying that you did not need the class to graduate, but find you now need it to take the CPA exam. Why did you not take that class while you were enrolled at UNT? Just asking, and if you could but did not...why? Did you avail yourself of the degree planning folks in the Business School or were you a business major? Inquiring minds want to know. But, having to take a single class elsewhere is certainly NOT uncommon at all, and certainly should not be the source of so much anger and agnst directed toward the College of Business. Seems you found a way to solve the problem that works. Blaming UNT and withholding donations for the rest of your life does seem a bit extreme when you could well have chosen to get this done while still enrolled at UNT and working on your undergard. Many of us made some "mistakes" while pursuing our degrees and had to modify some plans to make it happen and/or take a course or two at a different institution. Hardly UNT's fault alone...personal responsibility come into play somwhere in all this I would imagine...did mine!

From my seats at Apogee and busy monitoring oldguystdent's intake of cheesecake and beer and watching closely his pronouncements regarding players!
-
I would look for a $5.00/beer price at Apogee. I would certainly prefer the $4 price tag, but from indications it appears that it will be $5.00, but perhaps for the 16oz. variety...not the 12 oz. sold at most places for the $4 price. I guess we will all wait and see. And, as the ULM AD stated...not a big money maker at all, just an added revenue source that perhaps helps to get additional folks into the games and staying longer.

TWO ABSIOLUTELY PERFECT EXAMPLES OF EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEANT! +1 for you, Sir. Greatness...proves that a picture is worth a thousand words once again. Well done!

Doubtful...very doubtful.

Please tell us how you know that RV "dropped the ball"? I really doubt you have any concrete knowledge as to what is going on with possible beer sales at Apogee. But, since you have said it was "RV "dropping the ball", please let us all know the source of your information and just what you actually know about the situation. many of us are in favor of beer sales at Apogee and look forward to it becoming a reality. From the folks I have chatted with the possibly indeed exists...when, don't know.

The hypocrisy that is GMG.Com these days is simply stunning!

You know what makes me smile every time this closed practice crap comes up? Well, the fact that anyone can go watch outside the fence on the little hill side and see pretty darn well. In fact some did just that at the last scrimmage...even some of the invited guests as the view was better than on the sidelines in some cases. So, if one was so darn fired up about watching practices, why are they not doing so? Do they want to rub elbows with the coaches and staffers they criticize constantly...probably not. Do they want to talk to players? How does one do that at practice? Want to chat...catch 'em on the way to and from practice. Do they want to learn who the players are? No rosters available and you can see just fine outside tat fence. So, I am really puzzled as to why this is such a problem. If the practices were really closed, they would take place inside Apogee not on an open field where anyone can walk up and watch. Seems practices are pretty darn open after all. Not officially, I get it. But, for those who enjoy going to watch practices at 4pm on weekdays...when they can't seem to make events that start at 6pm on weekdays....they really are free to do so. Amazing that here are o many fans...countless in numbers no doubt...that have the time to watch 4pm practices on a regular basis. Do we have that many retired and/or unemployed fans? So, why not go for it instead of just complaining about it? One wonders if they want to actually watch practice or simply to complain about not being able to do so...when they really could. You know...only at North Texas. Just seems humorous to me, but it is just my opinion and everyone is certainly free to form their own on the subject...as we have seen so often. You know..all we need to do is open practices officially and we would fill Apogee every game with season ticket holders and the Mean Green Club would have hundreds of new members. Who cares if UNT wins any games, we just have to get those practices open to the public! Now, that right there is what's important. And to answer a previous question about what other schools do...no, not all have open practices. What OSU was doing the last time I was there was to open practice for the first hour when they did drills, and then shoo everyone out when they got down to the "real" part of practice. Like UNT, they practiced outside the stadium in a fenced in facility. Guess what...closed but one could stand 2-3feet further away, but outside the fence and watch the closed practice...just like one can at UNT. I heard no complaining about the closed practices! It's like UNT90 is fond of saying...only at North Texas.
-
Because we are North Texas and we eat our own. You know, only at North Texas. No matter what the topic, there is a group of folks who will always, always find something to criticize! Don't believe it? Just look for the posts if North Texas wins against Idaho on the 31st, but by a small margin. Instead of being happy that the Mean Green is 1-0 and opened at home with a win for the first time in forever, they will find plenty to complain about...missed opportunities, bad coaching, bad QB play, no DL, yadda, yadda yadda! Book it! Only at North Texas!
-
Well, that explains it!
-
Good stuff here...should be a ton of fun to watch!
-
Do the coaches hold open practices?

Perfect example of always looking at the glass half empty.
