  1. See, you can't even make a serious and respectful post without some vague or not-so-vague attack at others who don't agree with the positions you take. The first part of your post is your opinion and respectful and worth reading and thinking about...the last, well, sort of ruins the first.
  2. You know...you make a great point about both Emmitt and FFR...those guys are definitely full throttle at the games. The Mean Green could use more fans in the seats and definitely more like these two guys. The "wait and see before I personally invest" thing is another topic into itself.
  3. Did you even read my post? Has TCU already won the Big XII or something? I am talking about uniforms here. I am happy you like TCU and their uniforms, me I don't care a rip about TCU and their uniforms...like I said, looks like the circus came to Ft. Worth and TCU, and I have never seen a uniform win anything by itself except maybe a school girl fashion contest.
  4. Come on, NT03....nothing like context. Little odd for you.
  5. Nope...wouldn't change a thing as there will always be something negative you would dig up....even if UNT ran the table...and as for whining...check the nearest mirror.
  6. Here's another novel idea...how about we dig up something else that some other university is doing and somehow turn it into a bash UNT and our own athletic dept. thread. Wow...that would be novel for this board. Comparing Hattiesburg, MS to Denton....Denton more than twice as large...going on three times as large and sitting atop a major US Metropolitan area...all four major pro teams within 30 miles of Denton...numerous other major universities within a stone's throw...Yep...apples to apples alright.
  7. Really..got any TV rating numbers or revenue numbers to support that hot opinion? Or, overall college football attendance numbers for that matter?
  8. Looks like the circus came to Ft. Worth. If you can't win in the Big XII at least have "modern" uniforms, right? Who cares? No one unless you are a TCU fan. I will say again...Alabama has some of the more "old fashioned" uniforms around...as does Penn State. Hasn't seemed to have their won/loss column. I don't much care. I leave this uniform stuff up to these wearing them and their coaches and AD. Me, just win in whatever you wear or don't wear. If the team feels good about what they wear I could not care less about what others might think.
  9. Reading comprehension is not that hard, but if you think those comments were all jokes...well, good for you. Just firing off a salvo in the hopes that one thread could be a positive one without the usual suspects digging around until they find something to bitch about or if not, just making something up to bitch about. Preemptive strike as it were.
  10. Crap...I thought Harry was starting some thread about something quite different! Ha! Turned out to be football related after all!
  11. Can we just sort of, for once, consider something good news and be happy about it? As Harry sad, folks, this is great news to see the BOR...or a member of same...acknowledging baseball and providing a bit of a timeline. Goodness...goodness!
  12. Best pre-season prediction for the Mean Green I have seen in........forever!
  13. I'd rather have a more balanced home-away schedule, so no biggie in my opinion, and certainly not worth all the angst shown in this thread. This s nothing more than the folks who are Benford haters going off again. No matter what he does, even if he wins, there is a group here who will always find something negative. So, it is what t is...like the schedule, don't like the schedule, come to watch and support the team or don't come...personal choice. But, all the ranting and gnashing f teeth here is not going to change a thing....got a great tournament against some decent teams...if UTA doesn't want to re-start the series, there will be someone who will. Give me a balanced schedule...tired of UNT having to be the one who goes on the rad to pick up games. If it means UNT has to do the schedule rumba for a year or two...so be it. Lots of bigger issues than a game with UTA.
  14. Define local as regards to basketball..because the football folks seem to think local is only, Ryan, Guyer, Denton High and, for some unknown reason, Lake Dallas. Dallas and Ft. Worth area players don't count. Odd, but such are the football experts on GMG.Com. Does Dallas and Ft, Worth count count for local when it comes to kids wanting to play at UNT? I must keep all this straight because we are told over and over that local kids won't play for UNT...thus the definition of local becomes so very critical to discussions here.
  15. Again, you might just be surprised soon, so just stay tuned.
  16. So, tell me..why does believing that UNT will win a BB warrant some negative point. Some of you folks are simply.........
  17. Nice...happy for young Mr. Young. But, I don't give a rat's behind about him until the day the Mean Green lines up to beat him. He is not our QB, so let the folks at La Tech obsess over him. Me, only care on the one day a year he lines up...if he does...to play the Mean Green.
  18. Says the guy with the expectant wife! Ha! Too funny NT03, too funny.
  19. Oh no...Mitchell reference here fly...be careful. You know it's perfectly OK on this board for folks to criticize DT, but heck...those that dared to ask the same sort of questions about Mitchell were labeled "haters" and said to be such bad people for daring to question an athlete's motivation. The hypocrisy is just dripping these days. I was not happy with those who criticized Mitchell so severly just as I am not happy with those criticizing DT so severly. But, I find it more than a little interesting that some who critized posters for jumping on Mitchell are now the very ones jumping on DT. I wonder what the difference could be?
  20. Yep...I think I'd let the coaching staff determine if a player had the proper motivation or not. Lots of reasons go into the decision to transfer. hared to make that call from the outside looking in. Lots of transfers and walk-ons have gone on to great success...even at the next level. On the other hand, many have not panned out as well. Tough call, that's why those that do this sort of evaluation for a living should be the ones making the call. Really really tough to make the "motivation" call on an 18 year old kid. heck...even some athletes with great skills and potential have had "motivation" challenges.
  21. Look for the Flying Worm shirts to be in the store at Apogee sometime next week. Was told yesterday that they are on the way! YIPPEEEEEE!
  22. This, right here, is actually the sort and tone of discussions that should take place on this board. Well done...love this stuff. Looking forward to hosting Idaho on the 31st. Thank joeyvee...great stuff.
