If UNT is holding players accountable for off-court actions, I wonder about a certain returning player? It had to be both off-court AND academic issues with Friar I would think.

Yes, you are. Some obviously don't think so, but, if you can stand the heat from those folks...and it will often come in personal terms...then support away when you think it is warranted. This is indeed another example of some of the "good work" being done by RV and Company these days.

BS- UNT MS- OSU MS- UCM MBA - UNT Also attended U of MO, but no degree from there. These travels do add a bit of perspective to this "everyone always does things this way or that way except UNT" discussion as well. Varied experiences will do that for ya most the time. Am a life member of all the university alumni associations associated with the schools from which I graduated, donate to all and participate in athletic and academic events through all three whenever possible. Not so much U of Mo as I have too short a connection with U of Mo. But, my heart remains and always will with UNT and the Mean Green. UNT trumps them all...big time for me!

I have four! SCOREBOARD one upmanship! Ha! Seriously...congrats to all our student-athletes who complete their degrees on time and or early! Great job...also, think we should acknowledge those, such as the Mean Green's own, Kenny Lyons, who came back and completed his degree. Anyone who has returned to either complete a degree or pick up a second knows how challenging that can be...life does seem to get in the way at times. I am super proud of all our student-athletes in all our sports who complete their degrees! Congrats one and all...super job for these guys to get their degrees early!

NCAA screwed the pooch on this one! But, probably could not prove anything as all the "interested parties" were shutting up and the NCAA has no power to compel them to talk...and seems they will not. Why should they? Their necks are on the line as well here. Just shows that hypocrisy runs supreme at the NCAA these days...but, looks like they had no proof...so what are they to do?

More good things happening for the Mean Green! Excellent! Thanks to all who had a hand in seeing so many more of UNT's games being shown on TV...should be a nice help in recruiting as well!

Not this guy...I'll wait to see how it goes in a real game...not one where you play yourself. Sort of like kissing your sister...not a real kiss. The real kissing starts Saturday. I'll decide if I should be worried or not AFTER the game. I'm a glass always half full guy...works much better for me that way.

Why would reading a message board give you any more concern? It's just opinions after all. You and everyone else will know more Saturday. That's when it matters.

UNT will recruit another good QB between now and DW's 4th year...redshirt or not. If Mac thinks DW can help the team win now...then great. Get him playing behind DT and get the experience. Folks talk here about winning now, and then say they will be mad if the guy Mac sees can help is actually played! I'll take 4 years for DW if he is the guy Mac needs to win now behind DT.

Great news...so happy for you guys! Lots of married couples, but only little ones make it a family. Welcome to the family world. Your life has just changed...big time...and for the better!

Exactly...are not seniors supposed to be and generally are.....better than freshmen players given to odd superstar freshman? Seems to me that every player should be getting better with each year of experience. To change just for the sake of change seems odd to me if you believe your players have improved. If the starters from last season are still number one this season, seems to me that they have earned it in the eyes of the coaching staff. And, remember, starters are simply those who line up for the initial play. Who knows how the substitution patterns and playing time will work out as the year progresses. We shall all begin to see soon enough. Congrats to all the Mean Green players where ever they may be on the depth chart. One question...why is the deep snapper left off the depth chart? Outrageous I tell you...outrageous travesty of justice!

Agree with you here...thought Sir Calvin had made some big strides this off-season. Guess Austin made even bigger ones. Congrats to Austion. But, I do think we will all see a decent dose of Sir Calvin as well. May be a sign that the Mean Green depth chart is actually seeing some depth.

Thanks...it would be an honor. The tenor and tone of your posts says a great deal about you. You still have not read the criteria for that award. In your case, however, one can be well assured that ignorance is definitely bliss.

Good God almighty...please...please explain what that award has to do with what I am talking about? Looks like you came in at the middle of a movie and jumped right to a conclusion that is in no way inferred or stated in any way shape or form. If you must stick your 2 cents worth into a situation between two posters, at least TRY to figure out the context of which you are speaking. Good God Almighty! And...have you ever even read the qualifications for the Ulysses Knight Spirit Award? No where in it is there any mention of one's level of intelligence. What one knows or does not know is not a part of the criteria for this award. It is a spirit award as the name implies...not an award handed out by the Mensa Society. Good grief, man....what were you thinking? Or were you at all? Looks to me like you just felt like you needed to get in a personal gig...and failed miserably.

And the award for he guy who has absolutely no clue what he is talking about goes to...... You just missed so badly....go back...read it again and really try to "get it".
