  1. OSU up 42-7 over UTSA with 9 min. Left in the 3rd Qtr. But...have to say...great crowd for the game at the Alamodome...and, no not all...at all..there for OSU. Lots of fans for the Runners...good for them!
  2. OK, as one of the organizers of the Oktoberfest, I want to say that I have ZERO problem with Hooter's stepping up to host away game watching parties. I think it's great to get local businesses involved with the Mean Green and the local Hooters is managed by a member of the Mean Green nation! The Oktoberfest is a one-time thing...Hooter's will be showing all the away games as I understand it, so no problem at all with this one week conflict. I appreciate Hooter's stepping up to support the Mean Green. I hope folks will come out this week to the Oktoberfest and help support Scholarships for UNT students, enjoy the game (a UNT win no doubt), drink some great beers and eat some great German food...yes, even you guys in the Fairview area...the drive is not THAT far, and hey, it's Oktoberfest after-all. Ha! What really is great here is that we are seeing various options and opportunities for folks to watch Mean green away games...not the case just a few short seasons ago. So, it's all good...attend the one you can and would like...just remember...OKTOBERFEST will be the best one!
  3. Resulting in three Hilbert knockdowns and two Hilbert interceptions! Hey, a guy can dream with green colored glasses as well, right? Could happen, but the real question is.....will it? Good luck to all the Mean green today...bring home this important win today!
  4. Excellent...now maybe they should file a suit against the cops. My guess...they would win! Just a dumb move by these cos...who probably should find a new career field. If not, we all may just her from these guys again!
  5. Went to that game...my first volleyball game in a lot of years! Really enjoyed it...really athletic young ladies...tough stuff! Must attend more!

Really...who might that be...since, of course, you "know" who they are? Please do tell. I would find it really odd that anyone told you straight up that they would be happy with 5 or less conference wins. You know, there is a difference between being disappointed and being suicidal.
  7. That would be me as well...and, I loved the look of the uniform...as a throwback.
  8. Congrats indeed! Way to go....excellent work their...Mr. ABD! ABD -"All But Dissertation".
  9. Thought it was pretty darn good! Really enjoyed the interviews with the 100 Year players and the segment on DT. Thought DT handled it very well. Plus, as has already been mentioned, this exposure can only help recruiting and overall exposure for UNT.
  10. Agree...good read. Levin does some nice work.
  11. Seriously? Who COULD NOT be in an Oktoberfest mood? That would be UN-American! Opps...well, German, perhaps. If you are in Denton, you would definitely be missing out if you didn't stop by the Oktoberfest. We can all head to Hooter's for the next away game if in Denton, right? Love Hooter's for doing this and think it a great location for our watch parties. They have supported many of the silent auctions set up to raise scholarship dollars, so am all "in" when it comes to helping support Hooter's as well...and they do have great wings and cold beer! But, this time folks...OKTOBERFEST! It will help raise scholarship dollars for UNT students as well as providing a great time for one and all!

WOW...talk about hedging one's bets WAY WAY in advance. Already setting up your next year's complaint-a-thon before the season even gets anywhere near tipping off! If nothing else, you are definitely consistent! Ha!
  13. YES...NO PROBLEM...JUST SHOW up and enjoy the fun...no admittance fee, so come on to the Oktoberfest at the Pavilion...German and craft beers, German Food, Music, Mean Green Family and Friends...and UNT FOOTBALL! Seriously, what's not to like?
  14. Thanks for the info on the channels/dates and times. Appreciate you doing this.
  15. Come on San Antonio...I know you are out there! MoGreen is offering to help set this up...even going so far as to offer his own casa as a location....get this going and make it a big Mean Green San Antonio victory party! Can't wait to start playing UTSA on a regular basis and get to go to San Antonio for games...the idea RV mentioned of a train trip down to SA is greatness. How great is it have a rival right here in Texas? SUPER GREAT...that's how great. Thanks MoGreen for getting this going!
  16. WOW...from watching the tape here...and just the tape, it appears that these officers were trying to start something. Now, have no idea what went on before they entered the restaurant that would cause these two policemen to follow them in, but you have to wonder if this is not a case of profiling or simply two overly aggressive officers? Would like to have Emmitt's assessment of this situation.
  17. In an attempt to get this thread at least somewhat back on track....assume everyone is aware that Brian Waters is also the recipient of the the UNT Alumni Association's "Distinguished Young Alumni Award". I believe Brian was presented the award in 2012. Really excited to see Brian Waters wearing the silver and blue. Welcome home, Brian.
  18. Getting close folks...things are getting in place for the event...come on out and have a great time with your fellow Mean green Nation members! See you Saturday at the Pavilion!!!
  19. Call the paramedics...I think I am having a heart attack!!!
  20. Isn't it interesting how none of the posters were jumping ship or criticizing over harshly how their team played or was coached and were quite complimentary to UNT, it's campus and fans. Interesting too that they were talking about UNT being two years ahead of them. They may be correct. Some pretty nice class shown by these Vandal fans I would say.
  21. Yep...can do. It is not inexpensive, but it is reasonable for what you get in the way of location, etc. I know several events have taken place in the Club area. Give tem a call, and congratulations on your engagement.
  22. AMEN! Great kid, great leader for the program. Zach will definitely be missed, and I predict that this will not be the last week of this season that Zach is named CUSA Defensive Player of the Week! Note...when I first saw this thread I wondered for a second who "Zorr" was...didn't take long, but did think that was a wild last name for some guy...Zorr...Super Hero sort of ring to it. Hey, maybe it fits Zach after all...the super hero part that is!
  23. Seriously? We are talking about drink cups? Good grief! Things must be going pretty well in the Mean Green nation these days if we have come to the point of talking about the drink cups!
  24. Just for those wondering about a future CUSA foe...La Tech was blasted by NC State in young Mr. Holtz debut 40-14. Tough day in front of 54,000+ fans in NC. Scotty Young went 15 of 27 for 178 yards with 0 INT's. He had 3 rushes for a net of 7 yards. Took 2 sacks. Long pass was 40 yards...no passing TD's on the night for Mr. Young and La Tech. Tough way to start...been there...don't like it one bit. I expect both Holtz and Young to rebound after this initial pounding. Looking forward to building a rivalry with LaTech.
  25. Oktoberfest always takes place in September. Yes, we are a tad early, but scheduling was a bit of a challenge this year given the UNT home schedule in September and the other regional Oktoberfest events taking place later in the month. Believe it or not, the beer folks around these parts get really busy during September with football, Labor Day and Oktoberfest, so we scheduled it when we had the best opportunity...but still in September. Add this to the fact that the folks who do the work to put this on have pretty packed schedules as well, and Sept. 7th became the logical date. Just come and enjoy and pretend it is later in the month.
